Wow... I've never seen an English interpretation, but all the poetic expressions and descriptions I feel in Korean are omitted from the translation. It's just translating the superficial meaning. I'm always feel bummer about this.
At that time, IU and Yoon Hyun-sang were in the same agency. And this song is one of the double titles of Yoon Hyun-sang's debut album. This song was originally sung by Yoon Hyun-sang alone. However, IU suggested a duet because she wanted to help Yoon Hyun-sang. I think the quality of the sound is similar for two reasons. The first is because IU recorded it in the studio where she originally recorded it, and the second is the composer who wrote 'Through the night' by one of the song's arrangement composers. So when I recorded it, the composer directed it. And one behind story is that this composer worked as UAENA before he became a composer. LOL
🌿This is a song that IU voluntarily participated in to support Yoon Hyun-sang's debut album (2014), who was a singer of the same company at the time.🍍In 2015, he won the Ballad Singer Award at the 21st Korea Entertainment Arts Awards and🍐later moved to another agency.🥭Please react to the duet songs🌷"It's You" and🍃"First Winter" sung by singer Sung Si-kyung someday.🍈Aaron
I don't know what the MV try to imply either, but my interpretation would be the guy having a long hard day, may be get dumped by his girl + get scold for making mistake in his job and such, then on his way home late at night, he come across a piano in an underground path, so he unleashed his emotion through the piano and music. Meanwhile a lonely sorrow Guitarist IU just coincident come across with his music/emotion "outbreak". She could feel the way he feel too because she has a tough day lately too, so she join his music discreetly, and go through the same lonely sorrow music that other couldn't share. After it all ended, they would still continue their respective path, but knowing there would be someone else out there do share your pain somehow, which kind of relieve them from suffering the hardship alone.
