My wife works for a cleaning company here in the UK. Up until a few months ago, she was using a SEBO....OK, it was good and did a great job....A friend gave us a SEBO and I praised the heck out of it after using it a few times. Anyhow, My wife's employer has decided to invest in a few RAINBOW systems and has also given permission for us to use it at home....In a word, WOW. I've never been so impressed with a vacuum system before. The fact that the dirt missed by a so called expensive vacuum such as my SEBO was picked up by the RAINBOW is beyond words. Some people might say that the Rainbow uses water to trap the dust and dirt it collects but doesn't a normal vacuum with a bag do exactly the same?....Well I'd say no. For one, it does not kick out any dirt once collected in the water bowl unlike other vacuum's that throw dirt back into the air, only for it to settle somewhere else. I'm not a sales man, never have been....I just think credit where credit is due for such a brilliant machine that actually does the job it was designed to do unlike the inferior items out there.
You can use either but you must clean out the tubes and tank afterwards. Make sure it’s for wet extraction and not dry-foam, like the Kirby brand uses. I think all the detergents at big box stores are for extractor-type cleaners. Vacuum Wars channel did a comparison between each brand’s cleaners, and found the Bissell Advanced Pro to be the best at stain and soil removal. He did not compare it to the aquamate, but I bet it’s on-par. Or at least second-best.
The aquamate solution is very concentrated so be sure to add the appropriate amount of the other brand(s). Might be more, might be less. It should tell you on the back of the bottle.
I have the same question. Did you ever find out if this will work with the Rainbow Se vacuum. I have been searching all over the internet and haven't found the answer yet.
this unit is actually made by Prolux And is called the Prolux Storm. It can be retrofitted. I’ve seen SE’s and older rainbows being sold with the new aquamate design. The old one was a hassle.
In 1997, they had to attach a water hose to the kitchen faucet and run it through the house to the aquamate, which would spray and mix with its own detergent. It did not have its own on board tank for water, just solution. This is an upgrade but it still requires changing the water out every 10-15 minutes. The Bissell Revolution 2x does the same thing and you don’t have to change the water or solution out very often.
This machine is way too over priced at $2000 dollars! I would buy a Rug Doctor for $499 at Sam's Club and keep my $200 dollar vacum instead, saving is everything.
$200 vacuums leave a ton of dirt in the carpet. There are $800-$1.3k machines that will do a much better job, even compare to the rainbow. It doesn’t have enough airflow or suction at the carpet head. The only results it gets is are from the brush rolls aggressive brush roll and agitation. It beats the carpet pretty deeply.
