Just recently came across this movie and am totally addicted to watching it and fell totally head over heels with the Breezy character. Kay and William were so perfect in their parts.
So very underrated. Both the song and the movie. I wonder if they released this again what would the reaction would be now. A lot of older movies, like "Love Story", seem so hoakie. This song has passed the test of time. Thank you Clint for this movie. What ever happened to Kay Lenz!
I saw the movie on AMC classics many years ago and instantly loved it. I had a similar situation with a free spirited girl who wasn't that much younger than me like Kay is to William here, but the story between them reminds me of her in so many ways. We didn't work out but sometimes I'll remember that time with her every once in a while.
I love this movie. First time I came across it I abandoned it after a few minutes, wrongly assuming it was going to be a predictable 1970s B movie with a bad script. How wrong I was. Next time I found it I was engrossed after a few minutes and have watched it a few times since. This song is so evocative of the movie and of the era. It's so beautiful. So glad I found it in its full version. What a treat to have for the future.
The morning is a friend of mine, It always plays my song. And anytime I ask the wind It lets me tag along. I read the lessons in the leaves. They've a world of things to tell me. I always keep my pockets filled With pumpkin seeds and time. I have no secrets from the sun, And I'll have none from you. And if you're going to the fair, I'll walk alone with you. The day is shining in our hands Like a dime to spend together, And we can talk of many things, Of cabbages and love. Maybe we'll make each other laugh, And maybe we will cry. And maybe we'll be each other's friend Before we say goodbye. Goodbye.

Love Story was also an excellent soft movie👍👍👍👍
A gem by Clint who got great performances from Bill & Kay. Song for the ages. The 70’s live on

Clint's best directed film ever.!!!!!
He was also in the movie. He is in a white jacket leaning on a rail when Breezy and Frabk walk by when she get's new clothes.

Ooh. the memories!
Such a beautiful song, a gem ... i wish I could find more such kind of songs from those times ....
For these kinds of songs, I'd recommend Janis Ian or Melanie (Safka).
Look up Marsha Malamet's "I don't Dare". Very haunting and in the same ethereal space as this song
I Love this movie and song. I was a bit young when it first came out. i want the dvd now
I have it and wouldn't give it up for ANYTHING!
A beautiful song!
