We saw thanks to chapter 2 that closing the classroom had no effect on Ralsei's dark world and the talk of several dark fountains modifying the balance (instead of a single one doing so) point at the 2 areas being different dark worlds
I always thought it would make SENSE for Undyne to be in Chapter 3, but recently I moved on to the idea it could be Napstablook. Mainly though, its because there have been pretty obvious hints Kris wants Undyne to know about the dark worlds. You have the option in not just Chapter 1 but also Chapter 2 to bring this up to her and she laughs it off. Kris both causing an incident and opening the door screams intentionally following this up with proving it to Undyne. But the reason I think it won't end up being her is because Toby mentions this chapter not having a ton of plot progression. And I believe the reason Kris wants Undyne to know about the dark worl is related to whatever incident is hinted at on the board in the police station regarding Asgore. Seems to me this also could have been the cause of Asgore and Toriels divorce and having Undyne and Toriel in the dark world together would probably result in some pretty heavy plot development. One addition to the chapter 4 being church thing. I can't help but focus on the line from Spamton "speaking of [Communion], Kris, did you know the Knight...". As long as you agree with the fact Kris may not be the knight, one would assume Chapter 3 is not a planned dark world and thus the Knights next planned fountain to open was always the Church. And this is just one of those subtle hints as such. I also think (and kind of hope honestly) the chatacters who could end up in there would be Rudy and Alvin honestly. It seems kind of out there, but we have plenty of hints Alvin is a big deal here, and Rudy literally tells us he wants to go. Would be fitting of Rudy to get some kind of second wind in the dark world after being bedridden in the light world. Seems like an ideal situation for the dark world (when you look at how both Suzy and Noelle / Berdly ending up there had positive effects on all their personalities). That leaves chapter 5. I kind of like the concept of it being the festival, which may result in Asriel returning. Which could lead into you needing to go get Asroge from his store, and resulting in a dark world being there when you go looking for him. Which might involve him being in that dark world as well. Just feels like a good setup for stumbling into a dark world and that door in his store just screams "this is going to be a dark world" as we ALL know.
The holiday manor seems more likely to me cause toby leaked some text in a newsletter that goes with chapter 3 and 4. One of them explains something about gingerbread men which isn't really TV themed
I'm pretty sure all the dialogue that was shared in that newsletter was for Chapter 3, as they were discussing the localisation of that chapter. Chapter 4 wouldn't have been getting localised at that point.
A chapter taking place in Flower King would also be just an easy and enjoyable way to lean into some Undertale references and parallels more with how obvious it is that the area is Undertale inspired already, maybe even having Flowey return with like possible stuff related to Asriel being in that back room combining with the flower in the center of the group merging into a Dark World Flowey
19:18 100% agree, and this is where I personally put my "Undertale is a darkworld theory", Kris and Asriel played there until December went missing and had to stop. The game they played IS chara's and Asriels that happened before the events of undertale
I like the idea of ch5 having nested darkworlds, I think the roaring probably happens by then and we've seen that nested darkworlds causes the roaring, so that will probably be followed through on.
I mostly agree with this theory, but there's a few diffeneces, so this is what I believe will happen: Chapter 3: TV themed with elements of the Dreemurr house, pretty much confirmed at this point Chapter 4: The Church, book and religion themed. I think this makes the most sense, especially if we consider Chess theory to be true, the Bishop would be main antagonist of this chapter, or at least some character that takes the role of a Bishop. I also believe this chapter could be heavily related to the Holiday family, considering their correlation to Christmas, a religious holiday Chapter 5: The Festival, carnival and amusement park themed. I use to think that this would take place at Chapter 7, but I think it makes much more sense here, especially since the Knight is likely to show up here. Chapter 6: The Bunker, horror themed. This chapter, along with Chapter 7, will be similar to true pacifist in undertale. Chapter 6 is like the true lab, being a mysterious place with a lot of horror elements while also revealing a lot of lore behind the game. I think this chapter, being in the Bunker, will be heavily based around Gaster and solve a lot of the mysteries the game has been setting up this whole time. I think this would also make sense due to Gaster's symbolism with the number 6, and also one of the reasons I think it will be here instead of another chapter like Chapter 7. However, I am not sure that we will actually fight Gaster in this chapter, or even get to meet him at all. That might be saved for Chapter 7. Chapter 7: No dark world. This chapter takes place during the roaring. Much like chapter 6, this also goes along with Undertale True Pacifist. After getting a huge lore drop, you escape the creepy place and finally get this epic battle and a satisfying ending to the game. I think the final boss here would be the Angel, while the weird route boss would be Doctor W.D. Gaster himself. I tried to fit in the Flower King dark world here, but I just can't see anywhere it would be where another dark world wouldn't make more sense. Personally, I think it's either a red herring, or will share a chapter with another dark world. Not sure which it would be, though.
I expect Chapter 7 will be in the Church. -Assuming this is an average week, the 7th day would be Sunday, people go to church on that day usually -Asriel in Undertale is the "god of hyperdeath", a god level deity or straight up god. -It has the Delta Rune on it, which the library and school both had, plus Kris's room has it on the rug. However of course you also mentioned the church also may have something to do on Wednesday in-game, and if that is the case then it still fits.
The reason a lot of people think chapter 4's dark will be in the Holiday household is because of the one screenshot he shared in the last newsletter where we see Noelle with a flashlight surrounded by Christmas stuff which would be in her house.
I almost agree with this theory to a t, except I really don't think chapter 6 is going to be flower king. personally, I feel that this late in the game the stakes need to be really high, so I think that chapter 5 will go exactly as you said, but the roaring happens at the end and we have to flee to the bunker, being the cliffhanger of the chapter. chapter 6 is in the bunker, and chapter 7 is us emerging back into the "light world" (if you can even call it that anymore) during the roaring, the entire world covered in darkness.
Idk I'm still pretty certain flower king will be a dark world,it looks way too important not to be,like just look at those flowers and tell me it doesn't mean anything.Sure it could just be a one off Undertale reference and that's it,but I think it's way more likely to be a Dark world than some others, maybe it won't be in chapter 6 like you said but I would not rule it out...
@duce.2805 I'm not ruling it out just yet, but to me for some reason I could never really see it being more interesting then the church/holiday manor/festival, and I perfer we get those over flower king, given how there are so many chapters. If toby decides to do it (which there's a good chance he might) I'm sure he could pull it off tho
@@neonotterpop2528I mean... Why not both, maybe the church or holiday manor can be chapter 4s dark world and flower king for chapter 5 and the festival for chapter 6, that's my personal prediction at least.
I feel like the house could also be one of the biggest Dark World because it is the place the fountain stretches the longest, going all over from the living room to the upstairs corridor at least
Here is why I think Napstablook is the police who’ll come to the Dreemur house and enter the Dark World. This world is going to be TV themed and the vibe of the place from the screenshots kinda reminds me of Hotland and Metaton’s shows, so Napstablook being related to Metaton and entering a dark world like Metaton’s area in Undertale would be an interesting parallel
Fun fact about communion, at least in Catholic circles: we have gold goblets we reuse every time. They’re washed and properly stored. So I’m not sure if the red solo cup would be used in communion. However it could be used for after church snacks and such like coffee, juice, or water
My (non-denominational) church growing up used very small disposable, clear plastic cups. While not super similar, I can see a comparison to these plastic communion "shots" and the tiny red solo cups used for shots.
I'm a day or so late to the party but here are my thoughts on your take on this fan-hypothesis For chapter 3 it honestly makes them a lot more sense for napstablook to appear purely just thinking about Toby making a "the ring" reference or that one other show that had a ghost making some sort of static appear on a television. As for your chapter 5 prediction and your idea of two different dark worlds being tackled at once, I think it would be best to better reflect the known dark worlds reflecting some sort of escapism (those being tabletop / board games with chapter 1, electronic entertainment like video games and computers with chapter 2, and television with chapter 3) that the theme of escapism would lead to the site of chapter 4's dark world as the church to represent religion, with your hypothetical route taking a weird sharp turn from this theme of escapism with the holiday manor. I personally dont think that flower king would work as a chapter myself, and the festival seems a tad too final/climactic to not get turned into a final/near final dark world where elements from all of the past dark worlds/town locations for chapter 6 or 7 are represented since fairs and festivals usually involve a lot of the various businesses and establishments that exists in a town coming together to create a joyful experience(essentially multiple forms of escapism at once). If I had to interpret the teaser for chapter 5 being just a single balloon my mind would immediately go to the one major type of escapism that seemingly hasn't been covered by Toby yet with that being restaurants of which there are two in the town, the corporate chain Ice-E's and the cat family's diner, I feel like having a restaurant based chapter would honestly makes sense since I imagined both of them would have some balloons in the back to host parties or at least some special dishes / dessert deals for the occasion, and your idea of bouncing between two different dark worlds would make sense if these were the two locations you were bouncing between since they both share a general theme due to both being primarily eateries but being different in terms of being a corporate chain and a local family business respectively. This could easily lead to a secondary theme of money / the monetary gain for those who provide escapism to their consumers that was already lightly touched upon by the addisons and their wayward cohort Spamton. With another sub theme possibly being the different amounts of freedom and risk that have inverse relationships with each other in both large franchises and Mom and Pop shops. As for asgore's flower shop I feel like that could easily be folded into the Bunker or festival chapters since I imagine a florist would be able to provide a lot of the decorations for a festival and thus would help to unify all of the various stands thematically while the bunker could easily just be tied into the flower shop by some unseen ventilation shaft or tunnel other with both being dark and dreary places with the flowers themselves possibly representing the various amalgamates found in undertale, or even the various jobs of the pawns in chess if you subscribe to chess theory (which I somewhat assume you do since having the bishop piece be the main boss of the church just seems way too natural). But in any case this was a good video and I can't wait to see what fan hypothesis' Toby proves or disproves come the release of the next couple of chapters! Dont be scared to reply and have a good day!
It'd be interesting to have Asriel come home then Asgore lures his family all into his shop and creates a dark world. Determined to keep his family together. Perhaps it'd mirror his unwillingless to move on from Undertale
I have a couple REALLY specific reasons why I think the chapter 4 fountain will actually be at Noelle’s house. 1) We saw in the teaser that Noelle was in a dark room filled with Christmas decorations and she had a flashlight. This would be the perfect location for an “ice palace” with a maze to be, as the piles of decorations themselves are maze-like, and Noelle has a tool that is typically intended to “find your way through the dark”, making her serve perfectly as the party member that guides the others through the maze like the Spamton Sweepstakes teased, which also likely means you’ll be able to find a hidden door if you enter it without her (and use a key that is found outside the dark world most likely), leading to the secret boss, or perhaps something else. 2) Noelle needs to be reintroduced again into the main plot in order for her to serve the role that Spamton referred to her as, AND for her sister’s disappearance to continue to be a relevant plotline. 3) Kris created the dark world in their own home while leaving the door a crack open, and as we saw, the darkness fills rooms like a smoke. People have also suggested the possibility that the creation of the dark world to be another fake out like Chapter 1’s ending, where this will be a “gas leak”, and while I disagree that it will be a fake out, I DO think having a “gas leak” would serve as a convenient way to play off the entire dark world as a dream, and ALSO would make sense as for why Kris would leave the door open, as the black smoke would look like the place is burning down. And what element do we know a particular character in the house uses? Fire. And considering Toriel called the police, it’s entirely possible that Undyne will show up, who is well known to be WEAK to heat. This connects to another theory that Toriel will use a fire spell to kill Undyne in the weird route of the chapter, which could easily be played off as her dying trying to pull the others out of the house fire. All of this culminates in the damage potentially being too great for them to live there for now, leading to an old family friend of the Dreemurrs’ stepping up and offering a spare room. Noelle may even suggest a sleep over and invite Susie, setting up the events of Chapter 4 accord to my theory. Given how Kris seems to be putting all the pieces in place between chapters, clearly the pieces we’ve been given will play into it, so the most important part when it comes to picking locations is to consider how certain decisions Kris as made will affect things.
There are a few dark world predictions you missed: Spamton does say that we don't need easels or CRTs. CRT is obviously TV, but easels? And there is a locked room in the school, which could potentially be an art class. Onion octopus thingy said something about mysterious singing deep in the water, so it could potentially be an underwater dark world. Which might or might not be entered through the bunker. We don't know how deep the bunker goes, afterall. Birdly did almost opened a dark fountain inside a dark world, so who is to say that is can't actually happen in the future chapters?
I'm fairly confident "Easels or CRT's" is referring to Swatch and Tenna respectively. Swatch and Spamton have a bad history together, and at the time of Chapter 2, seem to dislike each other, as Swatch is implied to be the one that kicked Spamton out of Queen's Mansion. Swatch is heavily implied to be the personification of a computer's art program, such as MS Paint. Easels = Art Tool = Swatch. Spamton also talks badly about a character we later learned is named Tenna, who is most likely going to be the main antagonist (and the personification of the Dreemurr house's TV) of Chapter 3. Tenna = Antenna = TV. So I think for this line of dialogue he's expressing his disliking for two characters in particular who screwed him over in the past.
@@glitterfish2 Ok, yeah, Swatch can totally make sense. But still, what's behind that locked door in the school? Also, it's a minor nitpick, but I'm pretty sure that Mike is gonna be the main antagonist of the 3rd chapter, while Tenna would be the 3rd secret boss.
Chapter 1: School - Board games Chapter 2: School library - Internet Chapter 3: Dreemur house - Tv world Chapter 4: Church - Religion Chapter 5: Flower shop - Takinc care of something (a pet or a plant ig) Chapter 6: Sans or QC - Bar Chalter 7: Bunker All of these could be a form of escapism (Bunker being literally an escape which might happen when the roaring strikes during the festival idk) When you put Qc as your name it's commented on so Qc might be a dark world. On the other hand sans does want to meet with kris and papyrus. Anyways alcohol is a big form of escapism so maybe. Flowers shop might even happen in ch4, hence Susie meeting both asgore and toriel by chapter 4, thus her comment about kirs'es family being weird. But also Rudy talks about going to Church the next day so I really don't know. Every location here has a doubledoor except for sans and qc i guess, but Dreemur house doesn't have either. I don't know how i'd explain noelle in the present section but ye.
New wild theory: Chapter 5 will take place at the Holiday Residence. In a room representing Dragon Blazers, a Neo Dark Fountain will be created, and this Darker World is where we'll see the "But what if it could get... Darker than dark?" chair, as well as the Ice Palace and the secret boss. We'll need the flashlight's Darker World counterpart to guide us through this area. I don't think the festival will be in this Chapter, though.
There is a monster in the Undertale librarby that says she’s the best word search maker in the underground. It’s possible the ice-e word search was made by her in snowdin.
@@HarryButHarry didn't he say that he *was planning* to release it in december? i don't know how to interpret this honestly, but that might hint that the newsletter may be delayed or some other possible changes in the plans?
The part I like most about this is that we could more characterisation on the souls from undertale if we get a dark world In asgore's flower shop. Heck we'd get to see what would change if we put the egg in his fridge. Maybe a secret enemy? Or perhaps something else. And if we don't get our flowey inspired boss in chapter 3 we'd definitely get it there!
I think any character with a portrait when talking to them ends up in a Dark World. This would exclude some side characters, unless there would be a time where everyone would go into Castle Town in a later chapter, which is possible.
@MonMaple Burgerpants. I feel like Catty and Jockington may eventually end up in the Dark World, but as like an epilogue where everyone is already there. But now that I'm thinking about it, characters with portraits are the only ones where you can ask multiple questions or give answers to. So maybe it's not like a "this character may end up in a Dark World" and more of a "this character can be asked many questions so we'll add their portrait to help portray their reactions".
I wonder how my save files are going to transfer to the full release. I imagine that it wouldn't be too hard to transfer them on PC, but I don't know how it would be possible on console. I really hope that I don't have to redo all of my progress on both my Switch and my PS5 (especially with shadow crystals 💀)
I reckon the new chapters (as well as the final game_change functionality) will work as an update or DLC for the existing version. This way we'll be able to keep our save files.
My guess as to the order of the dark worlds so far: Ch1: the unused classroom Ch2: the librarby (library) Ch3: the Dreemurr house Ch4: Church (definitely) Ch5: the festival OR the Hospital (I think Rudy might pass away. Noelle would then open a dark fountain) Ch6: Flower King Ch7: the Bunker
Actually, the assets that show the chapter numbers go up to ten in the files. I'm guessing the chapter select menu will eventually be able to scroll. There's also an asset for "chapter 0" which I theorize will be some sort of secret content unlocked through the weird route.

-Assuming this is an average week, the 7th day would be Sunday, people go to church on that day usually
-Asriel in Undertale is the "god of hyperdeath", a god level deity or straight up god.
I see the Deltarune brainrot remains strong in us all.
"the brainrot in us fills us with DETERMINATION"
Im still a Ch.5 Hospital dark world truther, but i appreciate your perspective
Here is why I think Napstablook is the police who’ll come to the Dreemur house and enter the Dark World. This world is going to be TV themed and the vibe of the place from the screenshots kinda reminds me of Hotland and Metaton’s shows, so Napstablook being related to Metaton and entering a dark world like Metaton’s area in Undertale would be an interesting parallel
18:10 wow, I love this editing style, you should try this more often
Fun fact about communion, at least in Catholic circles: we have gold goblets we reuse every time. They’re washed and properly stored. So I’m not sure if the red solo cup would be used in communion. However it could be used for after church snacks and such like coffee, juice, or water
the "sick" fruit juice
My (non-denominational) church growing up used very small disposable, clear plastic cups. While not super similar, I can see a comparison to these plastic communion "shots" and the tiny red solo cups used for shots.
6:15 "Carpet!"
(Maybe Toby's crapposting on Bluesky is foreshadowing after all! 😅)
Chapter 3 needs at least some kind of light world so that way we can deposit the egg
I'm a day or so late to the party but here are my thoughts on your take on this fan-hypothesis
For chapter 3 it honestly makes them a lot more sense for napstablook to appear purely just thinking about Toby making a "the ring" reference or that one other show that had a ghost making some sort of static appear on a television.
Neat analysis video! Thanks for uploading!
I AM A PROUD CHESS THEORY AND INVERTED SOUL THEORY SUPPORTER

There are a few dark world predictions you missed:
Spamton does say that we don't need easels or CRTs.
Chapter 1: School - Board games
Chapter 2: School library - Internet
Chapter 3: Dreemur house - Tv world
Chapter 4: Church - Religion
Chapter 5: Flower shop - Takinc care of something (a pet or a plant ig)
Chapter 6: Sans or QC - Bar
Chalter 7: Bunker
All of these could be a form of escapism (Bunker being literally an escape which might happen when the roaring strikes during the festival idk)
When you put Qc as your name it's commented on so Qc might be a dark world.
Nature itself is an escape, for ch 5
New wild theory:
Chapter 5 will take place at the Holiday Residence.
When is the next newsletter releasing?
Toby said on Twitter that he hopes to release the newsletter in late December
@@HarryButHarry didn't he say that he *was planning* to release it in december? i don't know how to interpret this honestly, but that might hint that the newsletter may be delayed or some other possible changes in the plans?
The part I like most about this is that we could more characterisation on the souls from undertale if we get a dark world In asgore's flower shop. Heck we'd get to see what would change if we put the egg in his fridge. Maybe a secret enemy? Or perhaps something else. And if we don't get our flowey inspired boss in chapter 3 we'd definitely get it there!
Just a theory but in the Intro area image we don't see Toriel with them, so maybe we'll see Toriel later in the Chapter, think Noel in Chapter 2
I'm just absurdly hyped for a deltarune trailer
I think any character with a portrait when talking to them ends up in a Dark World. This would exclude some side characters, unless there would be a time where everyone would go into Castle Town in a later chapter, which is possible.
who with a portrait do you think would be excluded?
@MonMaple Burgerpants. I feel like Catty and Jockington may eventually end up in the Dark World, but as like an epilogue where everyone is already there. But now that I'm thinking about it, characters with portraits are the only ones where you can ask multiple questions or give answers to. So maybe it's not like a "this character may end up in a Dark World" and more of a "this character can be asked many questions so we'll add their portrait to help portray their reactions".
I'm so excited for the next few chapters
love your content, great video as always
Also when you mentioned that the bunker has a dark world and kris has gone in already You can see in chapter 1 that kris already has a save file
Harry Do you plan to play the new mystery game Tsunagari Chess School? it has fourth wall breaks and the dev said its inspired by undertale
Does anybody else have the struggle of being a deltarune fan who doesn't play undertall
Maybe we follow Noelle home after the church?
My guess as to the order of the dark worlds so far:
Ch1: the unused classroom
Ch2: the librarby (library)
Ch3: the Dreemurr house
Ch4: Church (definitely)
Ch5: the festival OR the Hospital (I think Rudy might pass away. Noelle would then open a dark fountain)
Ch6: Flower King
Ch7: the Bunker
The cup could be from Noelle's house too
Maybe the cup is trying to hide from Noelle as she uses the flashlight
YAY NEW VIDEO
I think they only planned for five chapters, but I love to see more, but it might mean another sequel though.
There are 7 chapters on the chapter select screen and Toby Fox said there would be more after Chapter 5.
burgerpants has a face sprite....
So I got a theory that you could make a video about do you wanna hear it?
It's called ROLE THEORY
I dont think thats a flashlight. I think thats a handheld game console.
Decent ideas but tbh I think Noelle will be in chapter 4 as she seems to be not only very important her story is also currently unfinished.
Im not too worried about chapter 5
good vid
I think chapter 4 dark world will be in the diner
Watch toby watch this video so each guess is wrong
Que Pro 😎
Actually, the assets that show the chapter numbers go up to ten in the files. I'm guessing the chapter select menu will eventually be able to scroll. There's also an asset for "chapter 0" which I theorize will be some sort of secret content unlocked through the weird route.
ura nowae video goidaaaa
