I have a 48 just like that. My dad bought it for me for $60. According to the serial numbers it was made the same month and year that I was born. I've had it since l was 9. It has been played all to hell and back. Had to change the tuners on it they crumbled in my hand one day. It really sings with new strings on it. Still have it. Great playind Lemmo!
This is my favorite guitar of all time, but the reason I keep revisiting this video is for the outstanding playing. Thank you so much for sharing! The quality recording really makes this performance shine. I’ll be coming back to this time after time!
Michael does a great job of playing! He might not know all the small details yet but when he gets done playing at least you know everything the guitar is capable of sounding like! Thank You!!!!
That's the only downside, though Mark did a fine job playing, he really was a wealth of information. I learned so much I keep wanting to help Lem out. "Alpha-numeric model distinction!" "The sizes smallest to biggest go 0, 00, 000/0m, D!" "The 0-15 distinguished itself from the 0-17 by using plastic instead of metal hardware to further lower the cost!" Lol.
Lemmos harp pinky finger is too fkn good man, big David T Walker vibes I love it!! Also I have watched every single GOTD since lemmon took over, I can’t get enough of him
Yeah dude. I find it even more impressive how he does those independent movements back and forth with his Index and then pinky while still holding a weird shape. Dude is a legend. This channel got 100x better when he started hosting this show.
My favorite too. I was really disappointed when Mark left (still am, of course), but I've been pleasantly surprised by Lemmo. He's doing a fantastic job!
... just looooove the sound of these 0-15s. Depending on how you play them they can sound like everything between bruised and battered, with angelic clarity ranging to timeless wisdom. I need one of these ... BAD ;-D
Coowel , Man this guy is something else , how he can get all his fingers working so independently is amazing , I can't make half those chords let alone do what his right hand is doing , and a 49 all mahogany 0-15 just makes it all sound even better . The guitar is magnificent , but Lemmo's talent is even more fantastic , thanks for the pleasure lad ,well done Jen.
leftygtrplayer, well, I certainly am. Haven’t missed an episode yet. Comparably speaking, Mark did just enough to give you an idea of the tonal range and moved on. Lemmo actually allows you to enjoy some music before switching it up. Makes the show better in my opinion. Not trying to knock on Mark. I’m sure he had more responsibilities to attend to and didn’t really realize what he had created.
Pay attention to how Lemmo transitions to the C chord. Thumb way over the top of the fretboard and mute the low E. Great beginner lesson on how to quickly muscle memory the C chord.
@@kellyc2425 it's not wrong. There is no right or wrong as long as it gets the job done. Most people howerver consider it easier to mute it with the thumb
Nice vid and guitar. Back nearly 20 years ago, Starvings had a D-15 which i fell in love with but didn't have $800 for. Worn in just right. Flash forward 5 years ago and a guy at Vinyl Solution is paying one off and taking it home. All mahogany!!
What should be mentioned is this guitar is great for vocal accompany. The warm frequencies are non conflicting with vocal frequencies, it naturally does what i have to do with a eq in the studio with most guitar/ vocal tracks.
Dude! Your playing is amazing!! It really showcases the versatility of he guitars. Keep up the great work! Lemmo 4 Prez (representing the Guitar Party!)
I remember the first Martin I played, It was Ed Sheeran's signature. I was looking for my first proper guitar and I saw it along with other Martins. The staff stopped me from touching the other guitars since those were the one of the most expensive items in the shop.
This is my dream acoustic guitar. Yeah mainly because of Frusciante.
I was hoping he'd play "the past recedes" but I'll take scar tissue
@@user8929 yeeah was hoping he'd play some unknown stuff or so but I guess not a lot of people know that stuff anyway
I'm the same with a sunburst reliced Strat! Frusciante is a guitar God 4 sure
For me, too. And really acoustic sound.
He uses a 00-15, a different model
T-shirts "John Lemmon" in Japanese.
At my first read, I thought they had mispelled it. Said to myself its with a ノ not with a モ, but then I saw the glases were sliced lemons....😲😲😲😲
I thought it was Michael lemmo signature shirt
@@liberioescriba6158 Yeah😂
I wanna it.
Get fucked ! I already made that reference! Grrrrr ;)
No it’s not! It says John Lemon. I thought it was quite obvious, not sure why it took some to click.
I knew it was gonna be a banger when he said "I can't play this on most acoustics".
👍
What song was that?
Pyris Red Hot Chili Peppers “Scar tissue”
@@stevetrivago They were referring to the song after Scar Tissue
Have you found out?

Jazz-Metal? Nope...
One of the best sounding acoustics y'all have done. Beautiful playing, Mr. Lemmo
What wizardry be this?! Lemmo's fingers go to eleven!
🤣🤣😋😋"all fingers at noon"

Jarrod Pairgin for sure!
Lemmo + Martin = real life magic!
Flat Top Friday is always my favorite!!
My favorite too. I was really disappointed when Mark left (still am, of course), but I've been pleasantly surprised by Lemmo. He's doing a fantastic job!
Lemmo’s originals are always the highlight of this show..
I like the part where he played the guitar.
That second song was pretty amazing....
Anyone knows where that song come from?
@@wmorries14 It seems Jeff Buckey's Grace.
A superb instrument superbly played......thank you.
that 3rd cut brought out the soul of that guitar!
Great job! Love me some Frusciante on guitar of the day. Keep up the great work!
Great work.... The Martin Factory is about 6 miles from my home.. little Nazareth Pennsylvania’s biggest accomplishment ✊🏼☮️
I have one just like that only it's a 48. They do have such a great tone.! I've had mine since I was 9 years old. Still have it! My true love!!
You’re doing great Mike. Nice to see how you’re really coming into your own hosting the show!
The music ,as always, is amazing 👍🏻👍🏻
He’s the kind of guy you would like to have a beer with and talk music.
very inspiring I really enjoy hearing your playing as much as I like seeing these rare guitars
sublime
Your subscriptions keep going up because of your playing Michael. Thanks to you and Jenn for bringing GOTD to we huddled masses!! See you tomorrow!

Wow, just wow….
An oldie...sweet sound..played by a super musician....filmed and edited perfectly by Jen!!!

Buttery smooth. Another great GOTD episode. Thanks Lemmo and Jen!
Love the fruscantie love
Fender: 10
Gibson: 5
Martin: 2
Hofner: 1
Epiphone: 1
Ha?
Is that how many he's done? I'm so happy to see Fender (especially offsets) getting more attention compared to when Mark was hosting.
@Desmond Hume not only is your comment accurate, but your username is amazing. "Smells like carrots"
That's what I dont like with Lemmo
The sound is jumping out of that guitar. Amazing.
I’d much rather play this size acoustic over a dread. You are the acoustic master.
Nice guitar. I had a 1960 and traded it. Now I have a 47. Great guitar. Sounds just like that one.
Giving away a guitar .... That's the best thing I've heard all week. Thanks Mike and Jen !! Old accoustics rock !!
Probably one of my favorite flat tops . . . Lemmo knocked it outta the park.
I love flat top Fridays
So cool. Great job
Coolest shirt yet, gotta get one ..ha !!
Hes right. The tone was off the charts great. Mahogany man.....
Really digging the longer bits of the song format. Keep up the amazing work!
There's the John I was looking for!
I’m stood applauding that playing ..
As usual, great playing by Mr. Lemmo. I come here for his playing.
I would say this is my dream acoustic as well !
Very impressive all around👍
Nice t-shirt and play too!

Bah. I play the low E at G, with my pinky. Much fuller sounding C chord.
I lean over and use my chin to mute the low E - is that wrong?
Nice Work Michael and Jen also really like the way they get along
Lemmo doin a great job!!! 🤯🤯🤯 such a talented guitarist & vintage guitar guy.
If you only have one acoustic, that's the one you want. I have a 1946 0-17, and those old brown Martins are magical.
Your song was the best of the bunch.

WOW! Last song sounded SO good! Beautiful playing Michael. The guitar is ok, lol!
I like hearing you play.

A John Lemmon shirt! I love it!
Lol nice

I've never seen anyone play guitar like lemmo. he just gets it
Beautiful!
Beautiful guitar also it just keeps getting better👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎🍺🎸🎶🇱🇹🇺🇸
Well that Martin fits Lemmo like that Guild 12 String fitted Mark (back in the old days ;) ).
Anybody remembers?
Go on, great job Lemmo!
Wow...sounds amazing!!! Excellent player!!!
Lemmo's hybrid picking is phenomenal.
You are a PLAYER Lemmo! Guitar of the day still rocks thanks to you, congrats mate!

Michael, thanks for what you are doing. It really is very good. Exceptional episode. We are lucky to view it! GOTD is awesome
Awesome as always !! My one 'puff' and a cider, turned into, how music sounded on "Orange Sunshine" in '71...
I can dig it.
I see you Stranger !
I figured John Frusciante would have bought his 000-15s from you guys. That’s so cool!
I got one word for this. "Profound". 🙌
Just wow
I played one of these one time. It was amazing! :)
I have a 1958 Martin 0-15.
I check the serial numbers out.
It needs a lot of work.
I'm hoping to play it one day.
Nothing wrong with some Chili Peppers!
5.12 - wonderful playing
Jesus this guitar just hits my ear drums right
About to buy one from LA guitar sales soon..have only ever played the 00 because I cant find one to try out. Either way, cant wait
That’s the prettiest guitar I’ve heard in many years
That was a very nice original!
1949!!! Nice!! I need a nice acoustic like now! ;-)
Awesome!

Nice to hear an all Mahogany Martin, they’re great sounding guitars. I wouldn’t be without mine. Cool demo from Lemmo.
any moment now is going to be this guys time
As usual great playing on a great guitar.
I’m a HUGE fan of Martin guitar. Hope you guys can make more video for it!
Oh yes Lemmo doesn't disappoint ! Thaks Jen !
That guitar is adorable.
Mellow Lemmo
There's a reason guitar of the day is getting more popular
Mark was great but Lemmo is just another level... I'll try to learn the last song
Great! As always
Great guitar!
Nice one. Lovely guitar and I dig the John Lemon t shirt
