A costume witcher is possible and they can be carried across multiple games. Just look at mass effect and Shepherd that was a name that was given to us but the saga was ours and CD projects could do the same
I want both options, as it was in Mass Effect. You can chose the prepared character or you can make variation of your own. I would definitly use the default one. Also, i would love to transfer data from previous game to the next one.

Didnt play it for 3 years. Just recently reinstalled the game with 50+ mods and feels like a new game. No overpowered nonsense. Just graphical, QOL and immersion mods.
Im currently level 10, and it's my first time playing, I can't believe I slept on this game for that many years
They should fix the post game depression part, where every npc you love disappears and you're all alone in Kaer Morhen. I also finished both Blood and Wine and Hearts of Stone and you only get one NPC to visit you. Where are they? Even Regis and Shani disappears.
No need for that.Kaer Morhen already dead without Vesemir.Eskel and Lambert didn't had love for that place either.And if we take Blood and Wine seriously, Geralt would bound to his manor at Toussaint for the next Winters.
Winters in Toussaint are additionaly more warmer, geralt after some dangerous adventures deserve for retirement. If he didnt fail anna harrietta's main quest, im sure he has no reason to leave toussaint, he can make local requests and surely will be taken into care very well. He was honored as a Hero and guardian of Beauclair in ceremony. Lambert also moved on with life by keiria metz's side (if you made appriopriate choices) and dont think they want go back to the things that were in the past.
I retired in Toussaint with Yennifer. We grow crops and read a lot of literature. Every once in a while we backpack across the land.
U obviously didn't play the dlc that fixes all that. The dlc is bigger and better then the main story
Kaer Morhen was the birthplace of the original Witcher school that later on developed into the Wolf school right? And by the time Vesemir and Geralt come around, Kaer Morhen had already been an aged fortress? Idk if I'm right but it sounds right
The only issue I have with Ciri being the Witcher is the fact that she isn't a Witcher. She wouldn't be able to cast signs or drink potions. It wouldn't be a Witcher game with her as the lead. Tho it would be cool to include her

Ciri is far too op to be an enjoyable main character imo (at least if it the new game takes place after witcher 3, when Ciri had mastered her powers completely), but I think a cameo would be awesome
@@Aardan98so have you watched the witcher series? In the show, there are more OP and highly evolved versions of monsters than what geralt is used to, which came from the other spheres due to ciri and the monoliths. So if you have an OP ciri, with OP monsters, than you're pretty much just looking at geralt with the Normal monsters.

But I don't WANT to customize my character! They said it so clearly in Witcher 3: you are not playing a customizable story, you are role playing as GERALT OF RIVIA, an established character.

My guess is it'll be a new character, but I hope they avoid the kustomization (or it will just be in the details like haircut etc.). The Witcher needs a strong character with a personality and a story, not some random figure with a sword
They can just do it like in Mass effect. Either choose the default or make your own. I always chose the default same with cyberpunk.

I wouldn’t get too excited, let’s not forget the writing team isn’t the same one that worked on The Witcher 3 and if there’s anything we’ve learned so far is that for these type of games, writing is as important as gameplay. We love the Witcher 3 for the story and side missions etc.

CDProjekt RED specializes in story-based games. They've also made Cyberpunk. Its impossible for CDPR to release a game with a weak story.

I've finished the first season with mixed emotions, but i stopped looking after the first episode of season 2. I don't need a Netflix-Disney-American-Bombastic-Style for the witcher.
In the end it’s a polish Slavic-Volklore rooted game that was heavily butcherd by Netflix and striped of so much magic and depth. The RUclips channel „Folk Walk“ has done amazing videos analyzing the background and century old legends behind the polish original books I can really recommend it! So sad that Netflix has not stayed to the books - the special magic creepy vibe which we love in tw3 is typically for Slavic stories…but Netflix thought they know better worsening the whole thing :(
Ciri is not a Witcher, she didn't do the Trial of the Grasses, which is the most important trial, and the one that mutates you.

Why does everyone forget that Lynx are apart of felidae (aka cat)? It's school of the cat.
If they make a "school of the Lynx" that means school of the cat was based on housecats, or show a major lack of creativity. It would make school of the cat basically useless.

Ciri as the protagonist would also retcon the ending(s) that players had in Witcher 3. Definitely gonna be new characters

When CD Project Red was making the first Witcher game. They wanted to make a custom Witcher but they said it wasn't working for them so they scraped it and went with the Geralt rout. So I think they are going to go a custom Witcher. They have the experience now . The Witcher was their first game.

What made Witcher 3 very successful is its characters like Geralt, Yennefer, Ciri, Triss, Regis and all the other great characters from the books, that we won't see most of them in Witcher 4, which is why I think it won't be as good as Witcher 3 without them, I still think Geralt should always be the main character in any new Witcher game, that is my personal opinion.
I don't agree, let's just look at cyberpunk, characters, music, and the main story were just as good as in the Witcher 3. CDPR have the ability to make really good stories with really good characters and world building. Tho it is important, that the directors don't change.
And of course, 90% it will have some stupid woke agenda, so yeah.. they still could easily ruin it.

The first game where side quests felt like main missions. Dynamic and fresh RPG . I felt like i was inside another world the entire time . Witcher 3 changed the industry.
I've been saying it since day one, a game with a customizable witcher starting the game as a kid going through witcher training and all that stuff with a few time skips would be amazing imo.

You can believe or not, but that source comes from CDPR directly, from a friend that is working on a project.
Sorry, but if it doesn’t center on Geralt, it isn’t a Witcher game IMHO. There are many, many possibilities for a completely new series that still features our gravel-voiced hero. There are decades of his story prior to the original trilogy that can be set in any part of the Continent with a whole new supporting cast. If you want an RPG that is like all of the others you’ve played, there are countless other games to scratch that itch. There is no reason to force that framework onto a unique game.
Thats like saying Star Wars isn’t Star Wars without Luke Skywalker. I loved Geralt but the game isn’t called “The Geralt”, it’s the Witcher.

Came here to say this! We’ve seen it can definitely work if the game is properly designed around it.
I think CDPR has forgotten that people REALLY like Geralt. It's all about him. It's The Witcher, not The Witchers. Singular. The next game could still have Geralt, but expand the locations to include places not explored in Witcher3, such as Cintra.

@@emmanuel1337 There's no "some supposed", there is a very clear and official post on their own website announcing that they joined ESG and that they will strive implement it in their game development.
Most of the Witcher 3 team is gone and the remaining sold out after the disaster of Cyberpunk 2077 launch. This "Witcher 4" is going to be the final nail in the coffin for CDPR.
I would love to see a timeline about a hundred years after the conjunction of the spheres. Or rather during the times when witchers were looked at as wandering knights instead of pariahs. That way we could see the beginnings of the groups that we saw scattered and hunted in the games we know
I think character customization would ruin the Witcher 4 game. I would rather play as young Vesemir or just a new Witcher character with his own story before Geralt’s time. Although I believe the character should just already be designed and not customized by the players. If I want to customize my characters in a fantasy world, I would just play Skyrim or Elden ring. Self customization in my opinion would just ruin the game. The Witcher world is so interesting, i think a new character should just be introduced and designed with his own story.

I think it’ll be a sequel to TW3, I don’t see why they would make it a prequel when they’ve already established new lore and hinted at so much to come already like the possibility of the vampire portal opening again or o dimm returning. I also hope it’s a completely original character, I think it’ll definitely be a male if they don’t break Witcher canon and make it so females can become Witchers.

Creating your own witcher would be the worst possible idea. CDPR's strength is in its storytelling and character development. It's no coincidence that Cyberpunk's V isn't as beloved as Geralt, or any other witcher character for that matter. They should aim for depth, not "infinite possibilities"
A game where Letho is the main protagonist would be nice. We could see the events from Assassins of Kings from his perspective

I dont want a create a character witcher. I just hope they have a set character like geralt and we can follow their story. It makes life easier for each new game they drop eith importing save files.
Since we see the lynx medallion laying in snow, it would be cool if they explored Kovir and Poviss which are in the north. In the books these lands seem interesting culturally and since Lan Exeter is bascially Venice, it would surely make for a great setting.
The DLC felt like the Witcher 4. What a great surprise it was. My Geralt is still sitting in the garden at his vineyard wit Yen.
There is a theory that we gonna play as Ciri mostly cuz of one thing, when they announced new saga it was first day of spring in Poland (it’s a Polish game if someone didn’t know) and the symbol of spring is a swallow which is Ciris name in elven speech

The main protagonist in Witcher 4 should be mysterious young Witcher, story of witchers origins, how they shape world, while it turns out in the end.that young mysterious withcher is Vesemir. At the end of the game he save young kid form certain death, and take him for his son. Guess who was that kidd :)

I actually agree with you. With the way how companies are pandering to the woke mob, I don’t think this game will stand a chance. Plus the company CD Project red still hasn’t been forgiven for what happened with Cyberpunk 2077 launch release. Their knees are already submerged in quicksand, if they start doing a bunch of ESG/DEI bullshit the game will already be doomed from the start and CD Project red will just sink into the sand even more.

From a financial perspective, people often dont look at CDPR:s Earnings condition in their incentive program, which states that the company aims to earn a net profit of 3B PLN during calendar years FY24-27 and as of last quarter they had a net profit of around 100m PLN and will prob continue to fall unless the company releases some new game, which in summary means that the possibilty for a release in FY27 is very high unless something changes
Like other modern games, this is also going to be around 100 - 150GB or more in size.
I hope that we will be able to make our own witcher and meet different characters from the verse thos would be really fun

A new witcher with a custom character, but several decades before the time of Gerald, when monsters were usual, i think it would be a great game. Also they could use Vizemir as a character, but young vizemir, as in the animated show.

Preemptive guess: the plot is in the future of the witcher timeline, and the lynx is the revived version of the cat school that some new char will spearhead (probably not the main char but theyre mentor or something)

A triple game saga would work for your own witcher, you would import your witcher from the previous game and their choices and off you go, just like mass effect
Custom Witcher PC for sure. With the Lynx, we could even have some lore about women and non-humans being allowed, too.
Literally all the greatest games to date have had a set Main character, Geralt, Master chief, solid snake, Ezio, Kratos and that's what made them Great.
Character customization is good & all but it will never deliver as good of a storyline as a set character.

I wonder if it’s the future and the reason the Lynx doesn’t exist till now is either Ciri is training aomeone or the witches at the bog make witchers through magic because they realized they need Witchers after Geralt the last Witcher is gone or retired. Would kind of explain a future Witcher story since going in the past doesn’t make sense since they don’t exist in lore.

I’m not saying that it is or isn’t to be clear from the start but if it is Ciri it could make sense that she starts her own school (Lynx) and we are one of her students which would work quite well honestly that way she’s still tied in and we play a new character added to the story. If you think about it, it could make sense since they have the snow and she was known for her fight with the Wild Hunt which mainly was a snow/ice kind of character, idk that might be a little bit of a stretch but at least it kind of makes sense but of course we won’t know until they tell us.

The problem is that Ciri is not a witch and never was. She didn't go through the mutation, that is, she is not even able to use elixir, signs, etc. in other words, the basic characteristics of the conjurer. A Witcher without mutation is not a Witcher.
I'd like to see dual protagonists. A witcher and a sorceress team with both being customizable.
I would love to have a witcher game where you get to create your own character and gender with different schools to choose from and each one with their own story and abilities with their unique powers also would be nice to have a good variety of character customization
i am so excited. From the first part in 2008 till now I've played the games once a year, so you see I am a real fanboy of the witcher. But there are also some mixed feelings about witcher 4, first of all it is hardly excaptable there is no Geralt any more. I don't confirm to "built" a new witcher like V in CyberPunk. I need a real Protagonist based on the book-series, same is the time. There is a hole in the history between the books and the games, maybe this might be the real saga, filled by the telling of Ciris rising and her tale. I need a real good new witcher instead of a fail like Nexflix-witcher.

CDPR PLEASE dont make this game like Hogwarts Legacy, there is so much more material from Sapkowski's universe.Playing as Ciri or Vesemir (prequel) would be dope imo.
Since we are now in crazy wordl,Lynx smell on female witcher. So i would rather have Ciri as protagonist since i already know her and be with her,then some random character. They could do same thing as W3,when they ask you about event in W2,and that can be your ending/timeline.. And give us more open world and other Regions.

If Ciri is involved with this new Witcher franchise then Geralt Yen & Triss will be too, by default.
These are 4 of the most popular, recognizable and marketable fictional characters in history.
There's absolutely no way CDPR cannot involve them with the new main story or the Witcher franchise, as a whole, without risking financial ruin. They are now too important and intrinsically ingrained into the lore.
My favourite option for a new protagonist would be to be able to choose from a set of characters, let's say three. This way the game has a high replay value, because you want to experience each characters story. From there CDPR would also be able to branch out or create sequels to the game where one of the characters is the only protagonist.
I think it'd be cool if it was a prequel and took place right when the witchers were made. It'd be at the height of monsters infesting the lands and there'd be A LOT more witchers. I think it would be cool to see the dynamic of humans actually wanting the witchers around to fight the monsters.

Like it would've been nice to have dandelion with you. Maybe not to help you fight monsters, but just for company. And maybe if he was your companion, he could have a buff where if he's playing music while you're in a fight, you get some kind of perk. Like a small % in damage, or speed, or stamina regen.

You can’t have the same story and character impact if you make your own character. W3 succeeded because we cared about Geralt, because he was so well written he felt like a real person.
Please CDPR, don’t make W4 main just a random guy or gal we can create, give us a set character.

Completely disagree. You can have your own character such as V, Shephard, Dragon Age protagonists and have a very deep, most of the time even deeper connection, because it is YOUR character with YOUR decision making/personalities.
@@robertasgar6387 You can, and the story will be good. But it won’t be as good. None of these games come close to W3 for the reason I stated. Especially Mass Effect which is now a relic of the past and its storytelling design is atrocious for this day and age. Unfortunately Baldur’s Gate 3 followed the same heroes journey story style and it turned out to be juvenile drivel.
W3 excels in that regard because Geralt is written as a real person, that is why we care about the rest of the characters so strongly.

Yes, I’m glad that I’m not alone on this opinion. If they want to introduce a new character, the main character should already be designed and have his own story. I also think the setting of the world should be in a different kingdom with new monsters.
I don’t want The Witcher to become Cyberpunk.
It should be heavy on narrative and a set character with a background. Always. Ciri should be the main character.

If it’s lynx school it means lambert most likely would be a main character. I would prefer what it would be about cat school. We had canon interesting character like Leo Bonhart who was from cat school. Would be interesting to see his adventures before he met Gerald
I'd like to create my own witcher with voice options. I'd like the game to be set in the prime of the witchers with lots of monsters to slay, plenty of coin to be made. Even a co-op element or just online so i can p.ay with a friend or two
