Great comparison, you hit every important point. Casablanca looks freshly minted, my mind is completely blown on the clarity and depth. I thought Double Indemnity would be 4K of the year but this looks even better. Surprisingly I haven't found a comparison video on DI yet, you'd be the man for the job! So much of these RUclips channels only review the video quality and how the “colors pop”. The real magic of watching a movie is the experience of actually watching the movie - not just seeing if the colors pop and hearing if the subwoofer will blow your wall out. The ride has been gone for many years now but I always loved how it made each movie it showcased feel epic & important!

@@MyFireVideos Sadly😢 as I shared in this video it’s been gone for many years now Disney destroyed & removed it! I went on it the last time many years ago & then when I took my family back the next year it was gone! But it had scenes from sooo many great movies in it!

I am so excited for this to arrive from Amazon. I saw this in the theaters earlier this year for the 80th anniversary and was absolutely blown away.
🤩Wow! That must have been a great experience to see the new Casablanca 4K restoration in theatres! I was blown away on my 80” home 4K TV but man a nice theatre experience beats everything! So you are definitely excited to experience this great classic again on 4K after seeing it that way in theatres!

This would be fun to see in theaters. The projector would have to be a really nice one to compete with a calibrated TV at home though!
Imagine how nerve racking it would be to handle the surviving nitrate master elements! I'm glad we got the new 4K scan for this release, as it will provide a much more modern 4K DI should we be unable to go back to the nitrate for any reason. Casablanca is one of those classics that I enjoy a little more each time I revisit it!
Very true, I wouldn’t want to breath lol!!! 😮💨 But thankfully this is a great 4K release so we have it to own & watch in 4K for posterity sake! I wish ALL classic films would get this level of care & restoration!👍

Yes, as I explained in this video you don’t need the 2012 Blu Ray for any reason anymore this has everything from that & even includes the 2012 Blu ray lol!!! 😂

You're going to love this. My 2 cents: that 2012 blu is a thing of the past and you will never watch it again, plus this set includes the same disc! It does have the special features on it though. If you have the big box set you may want to keep the special features discs.

You'll love this on 4K!
It’s the dynamic range grading not the HDR decoding that improves the picture. Even in 1080p watching on my Ipad the difference is obvious. No HDR decoding necessary.
Nice to hear of what Warner had done with it,and without any hdr.But i wonder why they used so much dnr on Blade 4k and Green mile 4k.Dont get me wrong they still look more than acceptable but without dnr would be way better
My favorite of all time movie. I ordered the steelbook from overseas and got very concerned when it appeared lost by fedex. I reordered it from ebay and then eventually got the original order delivered. Im not concerned at all on having 2 copies of the steelbook of my favorite film though. I also have the 70th big box set with the big coffee table book as well as the box set of the dnr'ed to death version and so i have all the collectable stuff from the years. I was not as much of a classic fan when laserdiscs and ced rca selectivision were released in the 80s so dont have those as i do with high noon and sergeant York. I was a huge gary cooper fan since the early 80s.
Well the odd thing is, that its not really a great movie. Many other of his films were much better than this. I hope folks like it.
