I'm a little late to this party but I'm glad it's still rockin'! Seriously - I find these to be great slap lessons; out of the various videoss I've found thus far, I keep coming back to yours, Mr. Whitley. Thanks very much. I appreciate the time and energy this takes and look forward to more. [Subscribed.]

Hi there! I use Rotosound Funkmaster FM66 30-90. Very light gauge and help with bending etc. They give a very tight punchy & controlled sound. I love 'em :-) Cheers, Scott.
Hi scott , i just found your lessons this morning and i have to say thank you, there awesome, and I will try the strings next thanks for the videos . Mac

Hey Scott. I have been picking up thumb technique here and there. I really like your teaching style and your playing. I will be going through all of your lessons. I'm getting a lot of new ideas from your videos. Thanks
Thank you, Paul - much appreciated! You may be interested to know that I'm just completing work on my new course, "Scott Whitley's Definitive Slap Bass Method". I made a video about it a couple of days ago here: ruclips.net/video/gd7dPvyDNEI/видео.html Thanks again for the kind words, Paul, Scott.
@@ScottWhitley Yes mate, I saw that. I will have close look. Working on you Stomp tutorials at the moment. Love the detail and time you have taken. Much appreciated 👍
Thanks fdor your message :-) I'll try and address this in a lesson soon. Yes there are several 'tricks' you can use to help eliminate ringing open strings etc. Usually be lightly touching the open string with your finger tip on your fretting hand. Look out for the video :-) Scott.
Holy crap, dude, you are awesome! Not only do you really take your time with these lessons but every pattern you teach just sounds so sick. I've learned everything you've taught with comfort and consistency so far in like 15 mins because that's how good of a teacher you are (and how badass I am of course haha). Thanks a lot dude, see ya in the next lesson

Me trying to slap is like Young Frankenstein trying to walk “Heel to toe”. Dang it, I’m doing the work. (tears). Thank you Scott, I think I was born without a funk bone.
Sometime when I play a note I'll make contact with an adjacent string and it rings out too. Are you doing anything to mute the neighboring strings? Thanks for your videos, Scott. I've looked at a lot of instructional vids and yours are by far the best!
My pleasire....so pleased you are enjoying the videos! I am doing some subtle muting stuff, in this video, but I am planning to do more content on this subject, which will go more into depth. If you become a member of my channel you also get exclusive access to 'Member Only' perks too, and it also helps to support my work here! 😀 Cheers, Scott.
My hammer-ons sound really weak. Is it just a question of building muscle strength, or is there a way I can improve my technique to get a more punchy sound?
Hi Yonatan, it was probably my Korg Pandora PX/4D (long discontinued). In my current videos I'm using the drums built into the Zoom B1 FOUR. Cheers, Scott.
Thanks you for saying that! :-)
I have many more videos planned very soon...
I am so trilled watching you playing like nothing happened. every lick is exciting to hear. I love this challenge. thanks scott

Basically just sit doing hammer-ons one after the other for as long as you can bear lol each time you practice. It will come together soon enough...
Thankyou :-)
