12:27 & 35:50 Corey fouls the break by failing to get 4 balls to the rail. He's racking an identical pattern. He intends to make the 1 in the left side with the 2 going near the right bottom corner. It's normally safe if the 1 doesn't go in and he should have the 2 if it does. The 3 goes up table with the 4 and 5 in the middle left to come back to the 6 and 7 on bottom. He keeps the 8, 9, and 10 a three ball cluster and the 6 and 7 near the bottom rail can be used to either break the cluster or to get position to play safe off the 8.
Earl's commentary is fantastic! You get to be in the mind of one of the best players to ever shoot the game. Sometimes when I am playing in a match I can hear his voice in the background after I take a shot and miss or miss position, "I don't know what he was thinking there."

Its like going to college to be a Doctor and getting paid minimum wage. Corey knows that Shanes game is superior to his so he has to strategize and look for an edge!
No, he should *not* get rewarded for something just because he spent long hours practicing it, and _especially_ not if it subverts fair rules. If Deuel knows that SVB's game is superior to his, then it seems that the best strategy for an edge would be investing LOTS of hours practicing to improve *his game,* not trying to find ways to subvert rules. If every player pattern-racked like Deuel does, every match would become just a competition of how well each player has mastered his own 'trick shot' set-up. How boring would _that_ be (probably to the players as well as the spectators)! The sport of billiards definitely does not need that further kick while it's down.
I like all of Corey's breaking experiments. Adds some interest to the game. The best was his 1 pocket break where he'd call his pocket and then smash the rack apart hoping for a ball and a fast run out.
Corey is so good but that safety break is BS. I dont agree with it. His break for his us open title was a little bit better but still it's just too risky for yourself and not entertaining. ALSO THIS IS MY OWN OPINION
Pool? in a "dilemma" ? Hmmmm.. could it be because a decent stick runs ya about $1,500 minimum? Could it be that a table of any worth co$ts like a good late model used Honda? lol . . . I started learning to play at around 8 years old too, Early, and my dad and his buddies always preached "shoot for shape, shot, and safe simultaneously" -waaay back in the late 70's . . with taking the harder cuts, the caroms, the billiards, the banks, the kicks, cushion-first etc.. we never jumped all Bo Duke over aNy damn balls.. Now everybody thinks Reyes invented the easy shots play, But Mosconi, Fatty, Crane.. etc already lived, played, croaked having taken the real roots to the grave or leaving the record on some blurry VHS tapes hardly anybody can stand to watch. Elitists scare the amateur away.
* another refrain: "Play the table" .. I started on a bar table in a bay-humid camper-ground game-room where one practically had ta jackhammer the cue ball to get anything out of it.. dead cushions, worn out cloth. warped house cues, scarce crumbs of Master chalk cubes, baby powder. . . X was tough.

When it comes to PATTERN RACKING, i think we could all agree that that is not a good thing to do even though it would be totally fine if the rules of the particular tournament Doesnt have a rule against it. If someone is pattern racking and the rules allow it, dont complain, DO THE SAME!! Corey is a MASTER at understanding 9ball,10 ball and 8 ball breaks because he has INVESTED LOTS of hours practicing it. Shouldn't he get rewarded for it?
Corey is the Mayweather of pool... smart, talented, and exploits the rules to make a lazier and easier game for themself.
I like all of Corey's breaking experiments. Adds some interest to the game. The best was his 1 pocket break where he'd call his pocket and then smash the rack apart hoping for a ball and a fast run out.
I respect his talent, but not his style. Deuels break always rubs me off the wrong way.
So people are mad at this dude for playing a counter? Makes no sense. I wouldnt safety break personally but its a strategy forsure
Corey is so good but that safety break is BS. I dont agree with it. His break for his us open title was a little bit better but still it's just too risky for yourself and not entertaining. ALSO THIS IS MY OWN OPINION
58:55 wrong again Earl.
I'm highly surprised that Corey's sponsors don't drop him. He makes the sponsors look really Bad.
That's bs. If Corey wants to try a play like this then he should be able to do so, without some asho.le calling his sponsors.
His sponsor know what they are getting into with him this isn't the first game that they will change the rules for the break because of Corey
I would rather take pure silence than listen to Earl’s commentary.
Seems the Prince is trying to irritate...
Pool? in a "dilemma" ? Hmmmm.. could it be because a decent stick runs ya about $1,500 minimum?
What’s placement pool? Earl mentions it in every commentary but I have no clue what it is
Projector over the table with a template of where to place all 15 balls. Then the player plays 15 ball rotation. No break shot
Friggn' rack mechanic, c'mon Corey.
8:50 I totally agree with Earl, jump shot is so lame...
Cory was scared.
Did you see the the game when Earl was ahead of Efren by 27 balls ? And Earl lost. Earl couldn't stop complaining of one play and calling a miscarriage of justice. 😴
Safe breaks or soft breaks ruins the game
this is horrible , safe breaks are the worst
😂
Earl can not shoot pool with his mouth shut. It is no wonder he is a champion. He can't keep his mouth shut.
I agree Earl golf is not that hard
What’s this guy got against golf lol
Corey “Tool”.
Corey is a great player but I hate the bs he pulls on the break. Very talented and hard to do, but terrible philosophy for the game.
Shane has done worse. Literally cheating vs Jason shaw.
Deuel is good but her playing style are boring too much
