World Cup 98 is the first one I really watched so I have a lot of nostalgia for it. 1986 and 1990 I was a bit too young to watch it properly, 1994 we didn't qualify so didn't bother with it, so started with 98

My job then involved a lot of travel and I didnt want be in Vladivostock trying to find a working TV so easier to just quit work and take in the event. I was in Paris on other business during the group stages and even then it was magical. Although I didnt actually go see any game live. Back in London, on the day of the final, there was a big article in the Sunday Times featuring Frank L. I think the headline read: Today, I play in the World Cup Final. Great times.

What a disgrace because they were arguably the most difficult opponent on that road and if there was no Boban injury Thuram would never score his (only) two goals.
