Well said, veterans across all industries should make sure that new people are always coming, so their industry can stay afloat for longer.
Thanks for another great video!
I recently got rejected from an anime studio in my country, they told me to improve in anatomy and willing to reapply again in future, thanks for inspiration
What country do you speak of?
Sa WAN ba?
What is your country name?
@@sensensen3494 oo nga, lahat pala tayo narijeckan parang crush natin, pareparehas lang ba mga message na ni respond?
@@vennece Are you from the Phillipines? Are there anime studios there?
Thank you ! I appreciate your videos ! You are helping us out so much !!
Oh hey! I wouldn’t have thought to see you here, but considering both you and Dong Chang sensei are absolute LEGENDS within the animation industry, why am I surprised? Keep up the grind, mass respect to both of you. 🙏😎
I learned how to animate like in japan thanks to you. I animated in western art style for 2 years, but japanese anime is more fun. Thank you for helping me
Do you have some study magerial for japanese animation?
@@RedRamekRaze7first learn how to animate in general. Both western and eastern animation work with the same principles (search for the 12 principles of animation). I recommend getting “animator's survival kit” and “the illusion of life” as they are basically the animator’s bibles. Once you’re comfortable animating, you can study what makes anime pleasing to you.
It’s the same way as learning drawing, learn the fundamentals, perspective, 3d shapes/primitives, anatomy, etc. and then study the artists that you like to be able to draw like them
Chang has blessed us once more.
It's is a good day
This video was great but you mentioned the model sheet and the importance of staying on model so much I feel like they deserve their own videos. Ie what makes/ how to make a good model sheet, and a more in-depth look on staying on model and matching proportions etc, and when it’s okay to break those rules.
Thanks for sharing these valuable tips on drawing professional Genga and breaking into the industry! ✨ Your insights are incredibly helpful for aspiring artists like me who want to take their skills to the next level. I appreciate the practical advice and the encouragement to keep improving. Looking forward to applying these techniques in my own work! 🎨💪
Glad to see you keeping up the great work! You're like a hero to me!
i recently bought a tablet (not a display) and is crazy how the line shakes, it's going to take a long time to get used and do lines like on paper 😂 Thanks once again for the amazing content!
I used a screenless tablet for 15~ years and switching to screen tablet fixed most of the issues immediately. Save up and get a screen tablet.
@@ArchOfficial I agree. Besides, XP-Pen is enough for genga work without wacom. I don't care about color or anything else.
@@kaldsam5142 I use a Huion Kamvas 16 (2021) and I don't feel like the hardware is the limiting factor for lines or color.
The only advice I have is don't get one that's too small, or if you don't have a workspace for it, too big. 16in is ok.
For Shaky hands, make sure you turn up the stabilizer on the pen so it goes down smoothly
i love you dong you're so cool it's so cozy to watch your videos
Hola dong, siempre esperando con ansias tus videos, gracias por compartir tu conocimiento muy agradecido contigo
these are great! is tarted doing my aniamtions because of you dong! always helping me out improve my animations
goat is back
Thank you so much Dong Sensei these videos help alot for a beginner animator like my self who wants to break in the anime industry 😄
Man you helped alot to improve my animation!
Thank you!
I absolutely adore your work! I'd love to see how you handle shots with character interactions someday
thank you for the amazing knowledge!
This was exactly what I've been looking for!
Thank you for the good video!🍀 Have a nice day
Another awesome tutorial! Great job!
thank you for the tips! your videos are very accessible and interesting to watch and learn :)
Dong, you're a real one. I work in video games but its really cool to see your heart for helping out younger artists do what you do with both technical and practical steps.
P.S. what's the brush you use for your genga lines? Asking for a friend 😏
man, you explained everything! thank you so muuuchh
Aye, today is a good day when you upload!
Thanks for video, very informative!
thanks dong chang sensei
Gotaro yt animation on youtube 🎉
What pen do you use for doing the genga? is there a place we can download it? Amazing video as always !!!
I love are your videos Dong, can you make one video about the character color palette reference please? cheers from argentina!!!
14:00 you got me there
@Dong Chang would the studio mind if I did any of this on paper, scanned it and then binarized the lines or something like that (like with the trace tool in GTS or something like that)?
Many animators still do genga on paper (all of the examples he shows in the beginning are on paper). It’s probably better if you just scan it instead of using software to make it look digital.
DO they teach you the specifics when you get hired? By specifics I mean knowing the stuff that you didnt go over in the video too much, which might change depending on studio, like idk what brush you use, what paper color indicates what etc .
Wait, I can teach you that do you have Instagram or Twitter?
yup ❤
Great video, super clear. My question is, how long should it take to make a genga? What is the average time required by the industry? Thanks!
Can you please make a video about learning animation from 0? Like what is frames and other stuff
Dong, i have a question, You are a goat?? i'm work in anime industry that "layout animator" :D thanks for this videos Dong
Im currently an illustrator that has some interest in animation but not quite sure where to start
I have CSP EX so I can use that for animation, but does anyone have good resources for animation? Maybe a coloso course, some books or guides for starting out?
“Animator's survival kit” and “the illusion of life” are basically the animator bibles
@@HiHi-oc3gh tysm for the recommendations
Please tell which software we use please
Clip Studio Paint
how is the process to learn draw new original characters, the studios provide character sheets and the artists just draw them couple of times until get used it before the production start or is just some skill that most professional animators acquires over time?
What about 3d backrounds in anime?
5:19
does keeping the volum of the pen really matter ?
beacuse all that will be gone or the line will lose it quality during the clean up stage anyways
so whats the point of not just race from the get go ?
I’m curious. How long did you spend on this genga? I know that sometimes in anime it can feel rushed for animators and I wanted to try and get faster at working while still keeping it efficient and high quality. Thank you in advance :D
Hi what books would japanese animators recommend for youn artist??????
NUT
Yeah, exactly!
❤
are you familiar with CACANI software for inbetween? What do you thing about it
