Thanks for the free instructions, that said I have purchased some of your gear and will continue to do so. My ears are always open when someone is willing to share their knowledge. Whether I agree with someone or not I always listen and thank them, I have learned a lot that way.
This is one of those videos that I will watch, watch again; “Save”, practice and watch again. I enjoy learning from you and this channel. Thank you for the continued quality content.
Dave, Excellent information. This is a good alternative for any ridge-line set-up. Three inexpensive metal tent stakes shortened from seven inches to five gave me precisely what I needed to secure my tarp to the ridge. Now, toss them in with the cordage and full-size pegs; they’ll always be at hand when setting up camp. Another excellent common-man project to save time and increase efficiency. Thank you.
WOW!! My brother Dave Canterbury!! Your level of knowledge, is totally at another level!! I never thought of using my old tent stakes!! Thank you, your family and friends!! I’ll always do business with you!! STRENGTH AND HONOR my brother, be well👍🏿💯❤️🇺🇸
I have used the windlass to pump up my lawn mower tire because I learned that technique from u years ago dave 😂. I use some mule tape and a small tire iron to tighten my tire down to the rim and was able to put air in my tire with that tension. Bushcraft is awesome and has so many uses
Very great tip! It's funny, I used to do that before I watched all the videos decades ago! Never knew it was a thing. Even a blind squirrel gets a nut every now and again! Haha!😅
In the spirit of quick release, great. Give that hooked stake another 180 and throw the hook through the grommet for extra security?.. No danger of piercing your shelter from the other end. Fantastic manipulation of the prusik!
Ah yes found your channel. Awesome. Love ya brother. Great stuff, stuff I use every time I am out. Going to everglades in one week too. Watching my bud find pythons which they are not native as u know. So your stuff will come in handy
This just gave me an idea and im going to try it out as soon as i can. How about instead of using tent stakes you use the loops from your poncho to tie a taut line hitch on the ridge line?
This man is always thinking… very interesting to watch. Very professional teaching manner without any braggadocio.

People act like I am magic with my use of knots, pullies, hitches, and toggles... this one has some real use.
In these times your videos are very helpful. Who knows when we might need to live off the land.
Saw a friend do that a long time ago and have forgotten all about it.

How easy was that? great work Dave..
Hey Dave what end knot do you use on your lines. Thanks and great info.
Slick.
👍❤
Is there a risk of the stake puncturing the tarp?
I wonder if a good forked stick would add stability.
Hey Dave how do you handle ticks and Lyme disease in the eastern woodland? Where I’m at, nearly 60% of ticks carry Lyme disease.
I wash with big dope soap, but I still get them here and there just try and catch them quick and have never had issue
Dave, does Pathfinder have those stakes in stock?
No buddy but they are in my Amazon Store
F#$&ing genius!!! ❤
You should leave links for purchasing the items you talk about.
