Thank you for the post. I was at the Royal Albert Hall with my wife for the David Gilmour gig on the opening night, 9th October 2024. I haven't seen Dave Gilmour since Pink Floyd played Earls Court on the Division Bell tour in 1994. Amazing night and an amazing band! As for the critics. David hasn't been out on tour for a long time and let's not forget that he's 78 years old! He still exudes the magic that he had when I first saw Floyd in 1981 playing The Wall. Beautiful night! Again, amazing band and David is such a legend! 🔥 🎸 💥 🔥
I'd like to see one from the first and the last show. I thought he struggled but then really got better by the last one. But he's 78! There will never be another one!
I prefer the original studio version of Marooned. I don't like the improvisations on every single night nor the one back in '94 in Oslo. ...The closest live version to the studio was on the 50th anniversary of Fender Stratocaster.....
What you don't understand is Gilmour and many other guitarists, improvise all the time and when the album was made, he improvised. Every Pink Floyd album, Gilmours solos are improvised. He does not sit down and right down his solo and then plays it. It comes straight from the heart.
@@millsaab how do you know I don't understand! I didn't say that. I think Ι was clear. I do not prefer the improvisations on Marooned! I prefer the studio version of Marooned. His best live of Marooned was on the Fender Strat.
You know, I can’t say that I’ve ever been to a live concert where they play the original studio version back to the audience… I think that would be a very boring concert-going experience, personally. But to each his own, I guess.

@denooraM who honestly gives a shit what you prefare.... your only a fart in the wind dear boy
I don't mind a little improvisation here and there. However this version deviates too much from the original which I like the most.
