  • Here's the first part of a guide to how to bow like a French-Canadian fiddler. Québécois, Acadian, Métis, each French-Canadian fiddle tradition has a great syncopated feel to it, and the key to this syncopation is the "ghost bow." I'll teach you how to do a ghost bow with this fun Québécois tune, "Reel des Menteries" (composed by Norman Miron).

Thank you SO much. Great tune and instructions. The ghost bowing has been a mystery to me and now I understand how its done. Just have to master it now.😊

Glad I could help! It'll take a bit of time to get it down, but once you have the basics you'll start to get a feel for it!

Got my Ancestry back, 40% Irish and 50% French-Canadian- So my Girlfriend lent me her old violin to explore a new range of music. Thank you for an easy and straight forward lesson!
