Hello Lisa Dawn, I love your clean-out freezer videos! I raised 5 children back in the 60 and 70's, one thing I kept in my freezer was a container and anytime I had bits and pieces of meat or vegetables I put them into my container, then I made soup when I had enough for a meal for us! Keep up what you do Lisa, there are so many that weren't raised to be frugal and we really need that knowledge now with prices so high! Love and prayers to you !

When you have too much basil, you can blend it with oil and a little bit of salt to a smooth paste. Keeps wonderfully in the fridge (or freezer)!

Last night I was hungry, and thinking about Taco Bell. Nope! Put frozen fish from a month ago in the pan, rice in the rice cooker, mixed it in a bowl with roasted red pepper hummus, some feta, and spices.
2023 has had a major change to my eating out. I hardly do anymore, and I’ve been losing a lot of weight as well as saving money.
Still drink more than I should, but baby steps, right? 😅

I was inspired by your freezer cleanouts to finally get through my chest freezer, and I haven't had to buy meat for a couple months. I'm finally to the last bits (a big pork butt that I'll probably use to make pulled pork for a party in May, and some odds and ends of sausage meat and hamburger), but it saved me so much time and money, cleaning out the freezer and the pantry. And I made up a couple of dishes I'll make over and over again.

I am more intentional in my meals. You and WITHOUT LIMITS WITH AARYNLYNN have encouraged me to eat more from my freezer .I also am cooking usually 1 protein and using it several meals or freezing the rest before cooking another one. Also, if I use half a can of Peas in a meal I either have them at the next meal or freeze them as I cook for one it is easy to have leftover items go to waste. But this method also encouraged through watching THE MINIMAL MOM is saving me money. Thank you Lisa Dawn :)

I make chicken breasts like that in crockpot, 5 hrs on high for frozen. I've been eating out of my freezer n then we had storms n power outages. That thawed freezer items, n had to be thrown away. Tomorrow is shopping time, I have one more day of shredded BBQ chicken tonight

They say strawberries, kale and spinach are the ones that absorb the most pesticides and to put them in cold water and a couple spoons of baking soda in and soak for 15 mins. I don't know about anyone else but my body reacts to spinach I get made in salads for me and restaurant food so this might be proof enough for me! Take that info with you how you will. All I know is I saw the water after the strawberries and it was cloudy and black specs in it.

Chicken is one of those items that can be problem freezing. Probably because in almost all the stores, it is previously frozen and they sell it as "fresh" without telling you. It has helped me to freeze them in chicken broth (just bouillon and water that I make) and then put them in a freezer bag w/out air. Sometimes, too, if I am thinking ahead, I will put them in a liquid marinade and then freeze them. It has helped me reduce freeze burn.
We also talk to the meat workers in the store and frequently they'll hook us up with still frozen from the back! I do this a lot with fish--another item very hard to get "fresh" so the people working in the back will give us the fully frozen seafood. The stores get away with this "fresh" baloney a lot. Then there is the adulteration of meat with liquid that is allowed and when you cook it it ends up about 1/3 the original size, lol!
Love your ideas and that seeing your videos reminds me of attending to my freezer as well. 🥰

I bought a bottle of cheap vodka to try and some cheap maxi pads to absorb what towels can't. Because just leaving it open to thaw while still being an active appliance isn't a viable option for me right now. Dreading it..

Andrew "snacks" on uncooked pasta? I get eating dry ramen noodles, because they're already cooked and have the texture of a cracker and are sometimes seasoned, but dry pasta doesn't taste like anything and shards of it could shred up your gums even worse than Cap'n Crunch cereal. I'm not shaming him, I'm just curious what the appeal is.
