Part 12: • Chingy on Rejoining Lu...
Part 10: • Chingy on Nelly Dissin...
Part 1: • Chingy on His Family B...
    --------
In this clip, Chingy looks back on the release of his third album, "Hoodstar," and the fact that it only went gold after his first two studio LPs went platinum. The St. Louis based rapper explains that a large reason for the dip in his album sales was the fact that Disturbing tha Peace (a record label founded by Ludacris and Chaka Zulu) wasn't involved like they were in his previous projects. This prompts and interesting discussion about the benefits and disadvantages of being signed to an indie label as opposed to a major record label. Moving along, Chingy reveals some insight about his old beef with Nelly, and the woman who helped bring it to an end. Chingy states that it was the dying wish of Nelly's sister Jackie for the two of them to end their rivalry, which they did.

That's powerful, based on these interviews I feel like God been using people to help Chingy figure out how to forgive and mend relationships.

This guy is a decent man. Really in tune with spirituality. This is a good thing. I really need my black people to get back to this good natured, powerful spirituality. It be miracles happenin just all over the place. The voice of God will speak to you and through you. The way he does it with a smile is real chill.

Really good to hear after all these years that kinda humility from Chingy - that despite the acrimonious split, he’s realised how valuable DTP was.
