Is the fuel pump in the same spot
Fuel pump making winning sounds while the car is crank,
If it's the fuel pump making these sounds you should here it when key is turned to position right before crank as that causes the fuel pump to come on to prime the system.

@@Texas78724 You need to be sure that it is in fact the fuel pump that is making the noise and not one of the accessories on your engine. I would recommend getting under the car to be certain it's coming from the pump. It is possible that the new pump is bad. I have gotten bad parts new right out of the box.

Does the fuel pump release all the gas when you replace it?
You'll need to clamp lines to avoid fuel leakage.

Got a 2002 s430 benz, car won't start after changing crankshaft sensor. Could it be bad fuel filter or pump?
Was it running before changing crankshaft sensor? If so it's possible that you got a defective replacement. If not than it could be a fuel delivery problem. Check for ignition spark when cranking, also look to see if rev counter moves at all while cranking. Let me know what you find. To check for fuel issue you can spray brake cleaner in air intake to see if it fires up at all, if it does than it's a fuel issue. Please subscribe, thanks!

I would try cleaning your (MAF), mass air flow sensor.
Did you have any luck with addressing that long crank issue. I had to change the fuel pump on my E320 as the check valve that maintains pressure at rest failed and fuel pressure would drop to zero as soon I I turned the engine off.
Great vid..I have a CLK320 (2005) M112 engine..My fuel gauge is giving me incorrect readings..sometimes showing full then it goes to empty etc.
Replaced the sender unit under the seat..what else could cause that issue?.
Could a fuel pump cause it with a bad ground or my instrument cluster paying up?

Your external fuel pump should not play a part in this. Look up videos on testing powers and grounds as well as voltage drop. I hope this will help you find the solution. There can also be the possibility of a bad unit out of the box. It happens I've experienced it with parts myself, especially aftermarket stuff. Quality control is not what it used to be, these companies don't care anymore.

Does this 2002 E320 Mercedes also have an in-tank fuel pump like my 1990 Volvo 760 GLE? Or is this the only pump.
The only pump is the external one.

How do you get the cover off I've got all the bolts off but I can't seem to remove it.
I believe it's three or four of those nylon nuts. Did you get them all? You need to angle it either frontward or backward I don't recall.

What type of fuel pump do you recommend
I used Hella brand pump. 722156500 part number. Beck Arney 1520869 is okay too, more reasonably priced. Recommend Rock Auto for parts.

@@moobstew661 I'd hook up a scan tool that can read wheel speed sensor readings if you are able to obtain that. You're going to need to check codes as steering angle sensor can cause fault as well.
