I see some ugly noise in large areas of dark colours for Pixel, like my old S21 Ultra had. Overall though, for the average user who don't want zoom or macro (108 MP + DE produce amazing macros) they are almost on par. One thing is surprising for me, as a S22 Ultra owner: my photos have better colours than some I see here. Too many of your phots seem like... washed out and in some the white is blown out. Strange, my colours are vibrant and if I let the camera adjust itself to the light, whites are usually ok. It's this because a difference between Snapdragon and Exynos processing (I'm using an Exynos in Romania, Europe)?
The difference is likely due to shooting conditions. You can't say that your delivers better colors unles you used it in the exact same location and place as I did. There is some difference in porcessing between the Exynos and Snapdragon, but the dyamic range shouldn't be that much different.

Great video comparison video with a huge amount of comparisons, I wonder how the S22 Ultra would do if you used the 12 MP on the main camera. Or maybe you showed and I some how over looked it. I could be incorrect but with the main camera still shots with always using 108 MP doesn't always produce the best image, it does create the most detail which you can see when you zoom in on the image due the increase MP. But if you use 12 MP binning I believe it may produce a cleaner more pleasing shot, I believe. Using the 108 MP is ideal if you wish to crop the image or just zoom in to see detail in the background. This is what I noticed with my s20+ 64MP great for cropping but the regular MP produced a nicer cleaner image. You would think 108 MP should produce a better image but I think the 12 MP on the main camera may do a better job. I have not played with the S22 Ultra very much. but I used a mode where I believe it took multiple shots and created a greater depth of field and a sharper image... with that said when I zoomed in, I didn't like the image as much so taking a photo in this particular mode produced an impressive image, but not so much when you zoom in, but this was for a product shot, not scenery. I have not compared in great detail as of yet but in a quick comparison it seems my S20+ 64MP may produce the same amount as detail as my S22 Ultra? You would think I would take the time to do a detailed comparison and I will in the future, just busy in life and when I do I want to take the time to do it right, but at a quick glance they seemed almost the same amount of detail. I am by no means well educated in the world of photography, but I do obsess over detail as I photograph small items and zooming in to see detail. I am still learning, but I think large MP is only good for zooming in or cropping, the 12MP binning I think produces a better image. Feel free to correct me or confirm this thought, or maybe this is commonly known by others and if so forgive me for my ignorance!
That's actually why I came here to the comments. Maybe a result of ignorance instead of malice. He brings up the focus on pixel 6a's computation for images, but ignored using the main s22 ultra's pixel binning (and associated processing) that improves the image quality there. My s22 ultra 12mp pixels are much higher quality (not resolution) than using 108mp, unprocessed, mode. Though, Samsung needs to be doing whatever Google is doing for their image processing, since for the hardware they've got, they've always had amazing photos relative to other phones with the same specs.
What's the point of taking two phones from two totally different price segments that's made for totally different people and competing them against each other?
I like them both I would take either one fact I'll take the pixel because it's cheaper so I spend money in an expensive phone when you don't have to do
The 6a is a veey good choice. It's just not as versatile and doesn't nearly do as well when recording video. But if that's not important for your needs, you'll be quite happy with the Pixel 6a.
Pixel 6a does a very good job and in some cases I like their pics more, but no it doesn't win like many people is sharing here.. Not sure if they are just watching the video on a phone or they are just too emotionally invested on Pixel and want to convince themselves that it has a better camera. It might be better value for money for some and I won't argue that. But it doesn't have better camera
I did watch the video on my phone but I also viewed the still photos on phandroid. I think for most purposes, the Pixel is just as good, in some instances better, and that the zoom is not worth 700+ more $$$. For the price difference, I would rather buy a dedicated compact camera like a Sony RX100 that will smoke them both

Everything else: Samsung wins 😂 I don't know about you guys, but I know for a fact that any decent digital SLR will always wipe the floor with any smartphone camera. It comes down to the sensor size: smaller sensors will inevitably produce more "digital noise" at higher megapixel counts. DSLRs don't have the same space concerns as a smartphone, and can make room for larger, higher-quality sensors.
I think we can see the difference more when we zoom in or checking the print quality from both devices. I think the S22 Ultra wins in that sense. I say this as a looooong time Pixel fan.

Na s22 ultra brudny obiektyw , odcisk paląca?
What's the point of taking two phones from two totally different price segments that's made for totally different people and competing them against each other?
You can see how close, if not even better, the cheap one is to the expensive one.
i never thought in night time phot pixel is less noisy than s22 ultra
6A clear winner here. Lol s22 ultra🥹
S22 ultra is way better phone than pixel lol
S22 will show the same result as ultra. pixel weak 👎
For the price difference, I would rather buy a dedicated compact camera like a Sony RX100 that will smoke them both
Main cameras during day 6a wins. Any other camera/zoom s22 wins. Night time it looked like s22 took it. Indoor lighting looked like a tie.
I prefer Google in any night shot that has a light in it. Samsung has too many starbursts or just blurry haze around light sources
@@bensonthepilot i would agree coming from the pixel 2xl and 4a. This video though as close as it was makes the pixel look like it didn't deliver
I expected the S22 to do better against the Pixel then it did.
Love your work chacha , i was waiting for this comparison add iPhone 13 pro also 🤘
It's on the list.
@@phandroid eagerly waiting for that video🤤
pixel 6a it has a better camera.
S22 ultra has better camera
Please do a comparaison between Pixel 6a and Pixel 4a 5g camera 🙏🙏🙏
I'm so confused between them
It's wild how bad Samsung's selfie cameras are compared to Google's.
Really? I was thinking that Samsung did slightly better in a few different instances.
@@phandroid It's mostly in the colors. Samsung tends to be more washed out. Like, using my S22U all of my freckles disappear but any pixel I've used shows them
@@ReidMerrill In reality Samsung cameras is way better than Google.
Thanks have nice day
Pixel 6a unbelievable improvement.but mostly sharp shoot s22 ultra...
Yes, the S22 Ultra definitely has sharper shots, especially with the selfie camera and while recording video.
Huge difference in price also, remember
Can't believe pixel 6a beat s22 ultra too in some scenes 🤣🤣🤣🔥🔥🔥.... Google has made a big mistake 🤣🤣..
Pixel beat iPhone 13, 13 pro, 14, 14 pro... The camera switching is even fluid like Apple 🤣🤣...... Google try their best to satisfy consumers.. I guess they go too far 🤣🤣🤣..
The 6a looks better
Pixel 6a -The ulttawide Cam king🔥
I'm going buy this phone it's worth it cameras are great I'm going buy it will I enjoy it
Portland, JAMAICA in the Building !!!
Welcome! What did you think of the comparison?
@@phandroid The S22 Ultra is Way SUPERIOR to The Pixel 6a, However it is a ENTRY LEVEL against a FLAGSHIP !!!!! 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
@@kreigerbailey3550 Exactly
Are these pics are true ?? How can pixel 6a do such good than giant S22?
I think pixel is better than Samsung as a compare to the price of both phones
How come I'm the I got dermal fillers because every time I drink over 30 oz of water in A-day I look like I have that pregnant glow
Well the Pixel 6a has the same sensor as the pixel 5A, which WON the MKBHD blind camera test for 2021. See video here - ruclips.net/video/dp4nWm59esI/видео.html
It also has the same main sensor as the Pixel 3.
Pixel 6a 👍👌👏
What do you like most about the Pixel 6a's shots?
Thanks

Good work 👍
Please review pixel 6a vs Asus Zenfone 9
If you resample to S22 pics to 12MP you would see vast sharpness increases and massive noise reduction. 12MP pictures look awesome on display screens, in large print the 108MP pic would rule the roost.
I say this as a looooong time Pixel fan.
yeah nice colors and details from the 6a but it has terrible noise issues.
I would choose the Pixel 6a, no questions asked.
Il confronto corretto nelle foto di notte sarebbe con il pixel 6 e non il 6A...il 6 è superiore del 6A e l's22 ultra sfigurerebbe ancora di più
The correct comparison is the one HE decides to make, because it's his video and he wanted to compare Pixel 6a
Фотографии у Pixel хороши. Видео низкое по сравнению с S22U
So, a high-end smartphone versus a mid-range smartphone..... Why even make this video?
Because Google's mid-range smartphone can take better pictures in many situations.
Never seen such bad shots on a s22 ultra honestly. Ive seen other reviewers with much better images.
I was thinking the same thing.
I think that's the point. For point and shoot, the Pixel series is king. You've got to take dry things up for the Samsung shot to not look like an oil painting
In reality Samsung S22 ultra camera is underrated and has natural colors than most smartphones.
All I know is the shots on my s22 ultra look better than this reviewer. I wonder if it's how the files are transferred for creating content?
@@MatthewMoscotto but isn't that the problem? One phone needs filters or whatever to kick in because otherwise it doesn't do the pictures justice. In the other hand, Pixel shots are literally point, shoot and get high quality results.
Pixel 6a nice
Google يمتص الضوء من Samsung... نشكركم
What is the point of this video? Just slideshow of some pictures side by side. Boring.
The point is to show you how the two compare.
