- Gameplay from Overwatch: Storm Rising! Playing as Tracer. Overwatch Storm Rising is a new story mission that is part of the Overwatch Archives event that happens every April, along with the Retribution and Uprising missions. In the mission, Tracer, Winston, Genji and Mercy head to Havana, Cuba to capture Maximilien, an Omnic member of Talon.
This is from Normal Mode, so it was pretty easy. Fun though! I recommend giving it a try!
From Overwatch on the PC. The game is also on Xbox One and PS4!

I personally wish that this would be already in the game from the start as a story mode or singleplayer, in would give more reasons to play even more, and tell more story about overwatch. It would be better then having to wait over year to know 5% of the story.

You do realise there was no story to speak of at that point.
Developer team feeds the playerbase whatever random pieces of "lore" they very well please, the ultimate goal being to ramp up the hype and boost the numbers every now and then.
@@DartiousEst yea a looks were it got them, rumors of Overwatch dying now and then, and other problems that are multiplayer, honestly for people to just want to not play Toxic watch on both casual and rank, a story mode would be a refreshing opportunity.
I'm not saying it wouldn't - just being somewhat sceptical about their willingness to come up with anything moderately worthwhile outside of these small side activities semi-related to the so-called lore.
Overwatch was designed as a multiplayer game; they sell multiplayer. And it's in Blizzard's best interest, naturally, to promote the part of the game they've been betting on and pouring funds into so far. The engine, being what it is, was created for a specific set of tasks with specific usage scenarios in mind and obviously has its limitations: in no way would a campaign OW engine based game be competitive on the market against full-fledged story titles and as such would prove a senseless waste of precious development time and human resources, scarce and stretched thin as they probably already are.
For you, understandably, it's a few hours worth of relative fun shanking brain-dead AI before moving on to something more filling. For the team, it is a major investment, one I don't think they are in a very good spot to make at this time.

Honestly this event would have been MUCH better if they had a genuine BOSS. The re-usage of the mini bosses from Retribution dont work because we know them and they're hardly a threat. This needed that intense last stand feeling of Retribution and the end of Uprising against the Orisa/Bastions. Boring mission this year rip.

Some of these people got it wrong, it was only the cutscenes that were spectacular, no doubt about that. But the gameplay is just a bit lackluster, the certainly some fun to be had, but overall it’s just dull.
It’s there opinion, if they think it’s great then let them think that, personally I think the whole thing is fantastic but that’s my opinion

The mission is a bit lackluster. It's just Retribution with a payload part. If it was a mission of an actual campaign we would forgive it and not think twice. But the fact that these missions only appear once a year and they add only one can be a bit dissapointing. I dont think Blizzard cares anymore. I bet that once Overwatch get irrelevant, there is only going to be like, five story mode levels. The only thing it has going for is the story itself and its cutscenes. They are well scripted and animated. Each mission gets me more and more invested.

Don't forget the skins.. like how uninspiring? A toddler could make more creative design concepts at this point. They are really not trying anymore in many aspects.

If you're not going to try on the skins at least make sure the mission is good.

Just imagine an Overwatch game that's filled with a story with missions like this one. It would be epic.
You can either play solo with the least difficulty, or co-op with the highest difficulty.
Idc if they make a whole separate game, I'll buy it.

I wish Overwatch just had its own story-based campaign. These characters are too interesting to not have a whole story about them that isn't a total of like 45 minutes of gameplay.

I think Genji was the most bad ass in this event. Like he just wiped out those cars and did the cool guys don’t look at explosions.

I'm happy that I got to see Max and the cool cut scenes, but.. The mission itself is pretty disappointing compared to what I was hoping for. Retribution and Uprising was much better.

Um this is my first archieves event and i think the 1st was way better, after playing the 1st i could only play this mission like 5times and it was boring. Too easy and mind numbing. The uprising mission actually had a threat of the pay load dying and the bastions and orisas all around

They need to put more gameplay mechanics like the motorcycle riding or combat like in Apex Legends

Nice, looks like tons of fun. Mercy's job dies seem easier compared to 'Uprising' and Moira's thankless job in 'Retribution'. I do wonder about the Havana map...we have a payload in this game mode but as per what Jeff said that there are "three locations" I'm kinda thinking this will be a Control map.
I have a feeling this map might be a numbani type of map capturing the point first then moving the payload

That troopers are quite weak. If they would face off against the Settlement Defense Front, it wouldn't be so lucky for the Overwatch Team
Don't really care what anyone else says, I haven't played this event yet, but I'm super excited to! The new environments in Havana look amazing, I hope they keep a similar atmosphere in the full map! The cutscenes and new lore and interactions are also incredible, I love this event! I can't wait to play all the missions through again, one of my favorite parts of the game!

it would be nice to see other concepts instead of:
“fight soldiers and specials in hopes to survive until the end, but also deal with teammates who try and be the hero”
type game modes.
Hopefully Overwatch 2 will have more varied gameplay methods!

Whatever do you mean? We have a new map, tons of new voice lines, and definitely quite a bit more horde AI programming; it may not be as much effort as it used to be, but by no means is it a small amount.

Always awesome to see Tracer kick some butt. All that CQC training with Genji really shows. The fact that she also mixes her blinks in with melee is pretty epic.

You know I still like overwatch, however I stopped awhile ago cus 1 I burned out on it and 2 it just grew stale. Yes there is arcade and custom games which I never really play too even if they change/spice up the game, but I like these characters there all intreasting and have grown to like and want to play the game for them, but the more I play I try to play for the love of the game but I more so am Playing for the faces and the characters instead not so much the gameplay. I still love Mercy but even when I feel I did my job good with her in a game and get some praise I feel its underwhelming. Another factor is that recently was just solo playing(which can be solved by maybe playing it with friends) but in the end its still the same game even having fun with other people which maybe drag it out longer but I'd probally be playing a different game by then other than a Team FPS/MOBA in the end after. Lore also is question that I enjoy the interactions of different characters knowing and talking throw voice lines, but we don't have to much substance on everyone. It's like Blizzard can choose what they want or planned in the lore(Which they can) *Cough* *Cough* Soldier Gay 76. I like the world of Overwatch with a future world of technology and omics/robots but as far as gameplay goes its hard for me to stay anymore invested.
They should release 3 new characters: Lady talking to Tracer; Maxamillion, and the random reaper-like guy at the end of the gamemode that talks to Doomfist
