Your unbelievable in your work. Taking sheet metal and fabricated into a inter and outer door skin. The skill. Is just a pleasure to watch y’all do it. Thank you for sharing! Great video!
At the risk of repeating my previous comment on the passenger door Matt, as a ten years retired old school panel beater from the U.K., I’d be more than happy to have you work with me. You are a born natural young man. I haven’t commented in a while, but I never miss a video from ITG. Thanks for your enthusiasm for Hotrodding to you and everyone on the team 👏👏🇬🇧.
Thank you Geof! I do believe that if I was focused on panel beating I could bring my quality of work up a bit but with doing so many different things I don’t do it as often as I’d like and I do get rusty with it. Happy to have some projects currently and coming up that will allow me to challenge myself more with sheet metal work! Thanks for watching!
Anyone else notice when Matt is really into a job he gets a look like Billy Bob Thornton in Sling Blade. Makes me chuckle every time. Great work as always Matt.
It’s so cool watching you on the wheel and I’d love to be there watching you rolling the bead into the metal it’s very intriguing!!!!! Keep up the great work Matt and crew now that’s awesome too and I’ll see you guys in the next video!!!!!!
It's amazing how you've improve your ability to make new panels and structures for your restorations over the years since you started the channel Matt. I may never do what you do but your channel definitely keeps me craving for the next chapter. Especially when you finish a project and we get to see the results with you and Mike taking a ride in it.
Wow. You guys are always so thorough !! New video for progress, old video link for scrutinized details. Nice !! Can't wait to see those doors, all finished, painted and drilled for snaps !!! LMAO 👍👍
Matt your just pretty darn crafty at making body parts for old fords. I really enjoy watching your channel. I really love old fords and just about any old hot rod. But I have always owned fords. Your one of few people that can still do this. You got skills in construction of body panels and you got the tools your killing it your just having too much fun. If I lived in your neighborhood I would want to come and hang out and help. Its cool how that particular body hammer was made perfectly for the task of rolling the door skin over the edge of the door frame like that, it is so sweet. I like that car your making it great and love the caddy motor and the diy hair pin axel rod so beautiful.
Matt, you expertise in body part fabrication is awesome... It is a pleasure to watch you turn a flat piece of metal into a door this time, your talents amaze me each and every I see your awesome craftsmanship in fabricating car skins.... you should think about this as another enterprise, creating, Reproduction Body parts, like for Model A Roadster pickup parts, early ford stuff.... just a shop dedicated to body part reproduction... 'you're da Man"
That's amazing watching you work that metal to shape it and turn out so good, it looks like is the original door. Great job and thank you for this interesting videos.
Excellent job, Matt. Sometimes making a 2nd piece that has to match the first is very difficult. I'm very impressed with the fab work on both these doors. we all have our own skill sets, and I am more than aware that sheet metal work is not one of mine. All the best, Mart in England.
Matt, you have some mad skills, at what you do! Watching the content you put out inspires me to do what I do. Never had the money for cars, so I do models. I have one that I'm thinking about trying to get to look like "Beautiful"! Wish me luck!!!
Thanks so much! I think it takes a lot of skill and patience to build models and it’s something I respect! As long as you’re having fun your winning in my book!
Your body work is so amazing. I'm always thrilled?... well... highly interested in your work. Your attention to detail is absolutely pro. Hopefully one day you will have someone to do in house engine work too.
Hi ITG. Since most of us will only be lucky enough to do one of these hotrods is there any place you know of where one could get access to the metal working tools you have without investing a ton of money into something that will only be used once or twice. i was thinking like a tech school or shop that would allow use of tools by the hour. really enjoy the knowledge you share with us on these videos. Thanks to you all for letting us look over your shoulder.
Sweeeeeeet !! How gratifying is that !! Love the English wheel , never noticed it in past videos , is that a new addition to your arsenal ? Thanks men awesome video . It's like -25° here in God's country ! So it's great to see your videos thanks brother !
Watched the ones for the other door. Really enjoy the fabrication videos. You guys work magic. Does the free-T drive? I hope that she gets out now and then. Hope the shocks helped out the front!
We answer that in a lot of videos sorry it wasn’t in this one. Sheet metal exterior panels like this are 20 gauge and supporting panels like wheel wells are 18 gauge. Original exterior panels were 19 gauge but it’s very difficult to find these days.
@@IronTrapGarage Thank you. I'll be making fender patches, and wheelhouse repairs...on my 46 coupe, as well as the entire trunk floor...the wheel well will be my toughest

Working on an English wheel is an awesome skill to have
That is something you don't just walk up to and start doing, that takes time to develop
Thanks for watching!
Anyone else notice when Matt is really into a job he gets a look like Billy Bob Thornton in Sling Blade. Makes me chuckle every time. Great work as always Matt.
That’s pure artistry. Taking a piece of sheet metal and making a door shin instead of going with fiberglass is cool. Real steel body roadster.
Thanks John!
Glad to see you're working on the roadster again. Thats going to be a sweet ride. How's Kate, haven't seen her in the video's lately?
Kate is good. Just busy running her own business.

He certainly is!
Always a joy to watch you bring old iron back.
Preserving the rides that started the rod and custom craze is an awesome endeavor Matt
Thanks for watching John!
Matt & Steve, man, you are a metal craftsman!! I can only begin to imagine what Steve is going to experience working for ITG...Be safe!! God Bless!!

Hell yeah my brother
Cool video. Good techniques.
Awesome
Love the jazz music…can you say who it is and what track?
Music is in the video description
Nice work looks great. 🇦🇺🇦🇺
You may not consider yourself a coach builder. But those doors certainly look it. As Borat would say “very nice”.⛄️❤️
Nice
I'm curious to know if you put anything inside the door to deaden the sound when it closes.
Nope. It’s a roadster… kinda noisy regardless.
good job man 💪
Number 6 .... yaaaay
Great job guys. What gauge sheet are you using?
20 gauge for exterior body panels
Can you let us know what material thickness you build your panels and skins from. I can imagine what thickness they are, but would be nice to know.

Looking for a cast iron stove just like Moon's
Mike needs you to make a door twice as long for his hot rod so he can fit inside of it, just stretch the frame out too 😂
do you ever watch ProShaper Wray Schelan he makes patterns that are perfect from one side to the other.
Yes Wray is a master. I’m just a hack trying to put old Fords back together!
Nice Video.
