Joking aside, carrying your own bog roll might come in handy if you are travelling by public transport where there stands a good chance of low quality (or missing) paper at an airport/station/train/plane/etc.

Always look for the better solution. I travel with a portable bottle bidet. Better for you, better for the plumbing, better for the planet.
Probably a bit outside the scope of this fine channel. But bidets are the way to go. It's just a shame, and a mystery, why Brits and Americans haven't adopted them the way so much of the rest of the world has.

I post mine on Google Docs, but of course any online or analog platform would work. Ash, I appreciate all your work on these videos - very instructive and inspiring . Cheers

I'm now a fan of packing cubes for weekend trips to organise and keep clothes crease free. For those on a tighter budget, John Lewis carry several leather weekend bags for less that £200.

Nice one Sir. What a wonderful knitted cardigan/jacket. I have been looking for one of those for ages! As a traditional shaving enthusiast myself, I approve of your travel shave setup. However, I would recommend keeping your brush in cylindrical pill tube. This would greatly help in keeping your brush safe, and also keep things much neater.

Hi Ash. I often travel with work for two day trips and so it was interesting to see what was on your list. I’d personally add the following:
    - Spare pair of trousers in case you drop your dinner down the first pair or get soaked in the rain (a problem in the UK at this time of year)
    - Light PJs or T shirt for the nights
    - A light gortex rain jacket
    - A collapsable umbrella
    - A bag / light rucksack that you can carry your bits and pieces / purchases etc. during your walks around the city
    - Don’t forget your wallet :-)
That bag looks lovely - but is rather expensive! I think there are equivalents out there for half the price.
Hope you have a great weekend with your son.

Interesting. I don’t do much travelling these days. I used to travel regularly for business, however, and generally overpacked. I always seemed to carry things that never got worn.
Having said that, I am going on a weekend trip in two weeks time for a school reunion, so I’ve been putting some thought into what I will take. Good timing for this video. Thanks!

For any short trip, I believe in packing light, making multiple use out of a few key pieces of clothing, and avoiding the pitfalls of being burdened with multiple pieces of luggage.
I always make sure I have some empty space in my luggage when I leave on a trip, because I know that I will wind up buying something, whether it's an item of clothing, a book, or a small antique of some sort, that I'll have to carry home with me.
It took four decades, but I have finally convinced my wife of the benefits of travelling light.

The concierge will probably not have a clue about the bag you are carrying. Most people won’t care a hoot., they won’t be educated about such things. They will throw it on the trolley with all the other bags. If it gets damaged they are only obliged to give you a cheap replacement. Owning such quality always ends in disappointment when something goes wrong.
