I was at Govt Mule's very first gig here in downtown Macon, Ga. in '94!! Warren put Matt Apts on percussion with Brother, the Late, Allen Woody on Bass to form the best Power Rock Trio since Cream!!! Haynes is one of the best men I have ever met! He plays with such Soulfulness and depth no one can deny the man's genius in music and his great capacity for songwriting!! This is an awesome concert and would serve well to be on store shelves!!! Thank you for sharing this superb showcase of GMule's Talent!!!!
Born out of The Allman Brothers Band, Warren Haynes and Allen Woody(RIP) got this band started much like Hot Tuna was born out of Jefferson Airplane. Warren is a much sought after blues & bluesrock guitar hero and vocalist. Frequently seen with the likes of Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeshci but an outstanding player in his own right. Let your "Soulshine", Govt. Mule.
i love this band. when warren plays the hell freezes over. coolness all over the place. gonna see them in 4 days and can't wait for it to happen . one of the best bands ever.
They were at their best in the original trio days, with the late, great Allen Woody, but I get you - they’re still a force to be reckoned with, even today.
Reportedly the idea for the band started when Woody & Warren were listening to a bunch of power trio rock and Woody said "You know we could do that if found the right drummer" They sure did.
And I saw them when they were a 3 piece, long time ago, I don't think the first album was out yet. It was in an outdoor park in Danbury CT, and I don't think there were even 30 people in the audience, we camped out right in front of them, reach out and touch distance. What an amazing experience.
I like how Haynes nicely uses wah and chorus (or is it a Leslie speaker?) effects and makes them sound good instead of just plastering tons of effects on top of each other
started with a bit of Yes "Gates of Delirium," and then plays the instrumental version of Donovan's "There Is a Mountain" which is basically the same as Mountain Jam
They remind me a lot of the original 'Free'! Only better! Haynes has impeccable taste as a guitar player and a great voice too! It has a certain timeless quality........or maybe its this weed!
Patrick Stone Govt. Mule do a great version of Humble Pie's 'Thirty Days In The Hole'! For the record, I'm old enough to have seen The Small Faces back in '67!
Im not being a smart ass or nothing but i really would like to know why everybody thinks Clapton is so damn great. To me he hasnt sounded good since his Cream days.If you want to go old school, Robin Trower shreds his tired ass.
mopardude6969 because the media guys and wealthy audience who are in charge have not developed anything since their childhood - such as Clapton. Clapton is not bad anyway but overestimated by the typically lazy society. Look most of us die after their age of 25-30 and being able to only repeat themselves.
enturarj I personally always thought Clapton's greatness was in his song writing abilities. Sure, he's a badass blues player, but not a stand out necessarily. BUT, when it comes to music and song writing, the dude was on another level. Sure, Robin Trower can out shred him, but Trower never wrote Layla. Or Tears in Heaven. Or Sunshine of Your Love. Or Wonderful Tonight. Those songs are brilliant and timeless.
Yikes this makes me miss the Woody fans. First saw em in 95 and have seen countless shows. To each his own but watch a Woody show. After Woody died they became “Gov’t Mule Lite”
my life changed some after i discovered Gov't Mule, i didn't know Warren Haynes from Adam; now he's my favorite blues guitar singer. great band!

i got ya friend. seem em feb. 95 never looked back .
I saw them the same tour, there wasn't anyone there! 30 people most. Crazy.
Was that show at Elizabeth Reed's on Cherry Street? I saw them there in Macon in '94 or maybe it was first half of '95.
Funny little tragedy, 30 mule shows under my belt.
Testify brother. I caught mule virus in 94 buffalo NY 🖤
Warren is a phenom. Great band!
could listen to Warren play that guitar all night long

Man! You gotta love Warren's love for the Leslie!! Such good sound!!
close to be coming the greatest rock and roll band in the world .. and they play easily 200 shows a year
ABB's "Mountain Jam" Intro at 31:50 - always a pleasure to see and hear Warren paying tribute to where he comes from.
I didn't realize these guys were so good. Fantastic performance. Love the music.
How could a human being dislike it.
30:01Fantastic
Great singer great guitarist great band !!!!!!!!!!!!
That's a set of lungs man,!!
Damn, that second half of Inside Outside Woman got real as fuck
I’m 3 songs in and this set list was unrealllllll!!!
warren's tone is just it. sounds awesome. and he knows how to handle it. great gig
Warren - excelente guitarrista. Toca BLUES como gente grande. Espetacular. Tipo de música que faz bem aos ouvidos.
I love this band so so much
It always amazes me how quiet Japanese audiences are. Gov't Mule @ Billboard barely gets more noise than my band did at Yukotopia!
Super! Quel bon guitariste! Et un son de qualité!!!
So good
fantastic
Conseptos sólidos de Blues t Rock , buen interes de sólidos recursos , bien por el grupo . . . y por supuesto a la guitarra de : WARREN HAYNES .
Great post. Thanks for the uploading.
Thorazine Shuffle starts, subtitle says "SLACKJAW JEZEBEL"

The Mule gets wild. Warren&the Boys at their very best. From Germany, Mule Hugo
They were at their best in the original trio days, with the late, great Allen Woody, but I get you - they’re still a force to be reckoned with, even today.
That's a cool show
I love this great band
Throughout a great band. Warren Hayes a stalward of note ! After all he rescued the Allman Brothers ! These guys know how to "Cook a Gig" wholesale !
So glad to hear somebody else acknowledge Him for doing that a lot of people don't realize you get an A+ plus my friend
@@zozepp8993- Let's call it an A-, since Warren's last name is Haynes.
Insanely good ! Jeff Beck would be proud !
Great band,
Uma banda muito poderosa com músicos excelentes.
Warren is a bad ass
Very good!!

They are perfect!!!
Warren for President.
Bueniiiisimos!!!!!
❤️🎸❤️🎸❤️🎸❤️🎸❤️
A house is built on a solid foundation. And you can't more solid than Matt.
almost defies gravity .. seen him seemingly fall over ... never missed a beat

Wow!!
I like how Haynes nicely uses wah and chorus (or is it a Leslie speaker?) effects and makes them sound good instead of just plastering tons of effects on top of each other
he doesn't use a Leslie. at least not on this gig. in the back are 4x12 cabinets
lets mention Danny Lewis on keys, GREAT!
I love the old school keyboards.
Hammond B3. Wurlitzer electric piano. Hoener clavinet. Mini Moog.
ohio mule sez one hell of a show---mezmerized
Great show. I do wish that when Matt Abts plays a drum solo, the video editor would just STAY ON THE DRUMMER.
WOW!
Stevie then Warren top my list!
Monster lick after Monster lick
Allen slipped into Jorgens soul, did you feel it. WOODY
55:00 What a moment
14:25 holy shit

Awesome!

Captured.................. total Down by the River mindset................
They remind me a lot of the original 'Free'! Only better! Haynes has impeccable taste as a guitar player and a great voice too! It has a certain timeless quality........or maybe its this weed!
Andy Thomas certainly GOOD MUSIC for that ! ...............wb
Andy Thomas reminds me of Humble Pie...check out sad sack of shakey jake.... peter frampton and steve marriot
Patrick Stone Govt. Mule do a great version of Humble Pie's 'Thirty Days In The Hole'! For the record, I'm old enough to have seen The Small Faces back in '67!

What a concert you guys are awesome
When you coming to Australia?
I'm sorry Eric Clapton but this time ......Warren Haynes is one of Rolling Stone's 25 greatest guitarists of all time
Im not being a smart ass or nothing but i really would like to know why everybody thinks Clapton is so damn great. To me he hasnt sounded good since his Cream days.If you want to go old school, Robin Trower shreds his tired ass.

@@mopardude6969 LOL, couldn't agree more! even with Cream he was so/so...the rhythm section made that band.
Shepherd's Chapel Network !!!!!!! Chapter by Chapter / Verse by Verse !!!!!!!
J'aime bien leur album mais leur son en concert est meilleur, surtout sur Broke Down OTB.
That bassist looks an eerily lot like Alex Skolnick, and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it was....
It's Jorgen Carlsson

Dude is that a reverse pedal at 51:20?
It's a volume pedal. Many of them work "backwards".
I think you might both be right... I think it might be a volume in front of a reverse delay....
+FunkyKobe Thanks for the knowledge brotha
warren is one swelly bastard
Can anybody put a finger on the set list for me please? I can not name these tunes.
They flash the titles at the beginning of each song at the bottom
Oh, so cool. Thanks so much.
he sounds way better without soldano
Hommage à Duane !
et à Dickey !
Brian Farmer the most homage.
