    I have an '09 Impreza (no VSS in trans) and recently got a P0500 code for VSS circuit malfunction. Speedo goes crazy after cruising a bit on the highway and can't rev past 4k. However, if I just stick to city driving for 1-2 days, the codee eventually goes away. How could I diagnose which ABS wheel speed sensor is giving me issues?

      Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately we do not have the specific diagnostic procedure for your vehicle but if you reach out to your local dealership, they may provide you with this information.

      If you added in a VSSPro with our PnP kit, it could be calibrated for this issue.

      You will need a newer cluster with a matching speed sensor, and we can help with the wiring depending on which cluster you choose. iwireusa.com/blogs/iwire-university/subaru-vehicle-speed-sensor-vss-types-part-1?_pos=18&_sid=1349c26ee&_ss=r

    I've two Subaru's, both model year 1998.
    Fozzy and Lecy. They both manual trans, and have this 2 wire sensor. But how do you easily remove them?
    Its extremely hard to get a key/tool on it.
    The "Nut" is very Narrow, and i troed a lot of things but nothing seems to grip on it..
    It has the little metal pin sticking into the transmission, a nut shape , and the round metal/plastic body housing, and the two wires coming out.
    The only way, up to now, it twist on the round housing and hope it brakes loose without damaging the sensor.
    So, it there a special tool/trick for removing this sensor?

    • @iwiresubaruwiringsolutions5538
      @iwiresubaruwiringsolutions5538  Год назад +1

      Unfortunately, I don't have a good answer for that since we don't remove a ton of these given we are doing the wiring part more than the mechanical bits.

    Hi I have a 97 Impreza transmission in a 99 Impreza all-wheel. My question is do I have to swap the wire harness, ecu, & speed sensor? Thank you in advance

    • @iwiresubaruwiringsolutions5538
      @iwiresubaruwiringsolutions5538  2 года назад +1

      Since the gauge cluster determines the speed sensor type, you do not need to do any wiring. Just swap the old vehicle speed sensor into the new transmission.

    So if I have a 02 Subaru legacy 2.5 in my Rail Buggy and I have a Aftermarket speedometer, and I buy a 2 wire speed sensor, (since I have the front wheel hubs on the rear,) can I take the white wire and hook it to my speedometer and ground out the black wire? Will I get a accurate reading?

    • @iwiresubaruwiringsolutions5538
      @iwiresubaruwiringsolutions5538  2 месяца назад

      Unfortunately, I do not think that will work, given you are mixing vehicle speed sensor signal types. Your best bet, whether you have a Subaru transmission or non-Subaru, would be to utilize a 3 wire sensor type which the ECU and the aftermarket speedometer most likely can read.

    I bought a 2007 forester (originally auto) that was swapped with a 2008 legacy manual trans. The previous owner left the 3 pin speed sensor unplugged, and the only other connector that’s unplugged and near that sensor is a 2 pin connector. Is my 2007 auto supposed to have a 2 pin or 3 pin originally?
