    I love the back and forth with the opinioned pros and cons. It's nice seeing someone give a decent amount of opinion and being upfront and honest about it being opinion. Example: The screen is old and not very good compared Dyes gun. But the removable grips are on opposite sides of liked and disliked. Things like this really make the review, easier to trust. Also going the extra distance with budget ideas.

    I agree with you on the shot profiles. I've always found the IV core not nearly as smooth vs other spools on the market and always thought the love came from the reliability plus ergonomics. Also the Geos would vent all the air from the solenoid onto your hands and always annoyed me if I wasn't wearing gloves. I think if you're really searching for the smoothest marker you can buy on the market right now Dye or SP markers are your best bet.

    The CS1 is the best shooting marker for my preferences. I like the shot quality and smoothest of the bolt. The sound was a big plus for me. I always felt like I could not hear over my 170r or geo3 or axe 2.0. I think the IV core is the go-to .

  • @ConTheDon187
    @ConTheDon187 5 месяцев назад

    Iv core+sfr=wonderful shot. I liked the geo 3.5 but the solenoids were my issue and mine died, the geo 4 solves the noid issue, adds some new ergo's, gives you a modern platform with a tunable shot, runs on cheaper batteries than D's, and makes it altogether a more solid platform. Would've been cool to see some colored grip kits like the geo 3.5 but oh well.

    I know we are in the minority, but I prefer the CS2 over the Geo4. I've had every Geo (other than an SL94 and a GSL) and I think the CS2 is the pinnacle of the Geo lineage.
    The front grip size and battery holder, eye prism system, being slightly smaller with no SFR, shot feeling, and sound signature are what make the CS2 better for me.

    I’ve shot both the CS2 and the CS1.5 but not the Geo 4. Currently I own the Cs1.5 put have played with a CS2 a lot. They both shoot smooth and I honestly can’t tell a difference in kick like you’re saying but the swishy sounds of the IV core are just what I prefer.

    I recently picked up a used Geo 4 for 900 shipped. I personally love the soft shot of the IV core but it's all subjective. I like how it is quieter as well which may do absolutely nothing but in my strange mind, it makes me a bit quieter on the field so maybe give me that hair edge over some guy on the opposite side of the field. In the end if you want reliability and great resale, any PE gun will do!

    Nice! Liked and Subbed. I agree with you 100%. Also, I describe that 2-stage sound of the IV Core as a "woosh". The CS2 is snappier to me, with a more "pop" sound signature but not necessarily louder. I own a CS2, CS1.5, CS1, 160R, LV1.5, Geo 3 (with IV core upgrade) and a Virtue Ace Luxe X but have not felt the need to go out and get a Geo 4. Maybe down the road when used values make it a no brainer.

    I got to test out a 170r and a cs1 recently and the cs1 did not kick and push the marker back(recoil) nearly as much as the 170r did, and if the 170r and the Cs2 is suppose to be nearly identical as far as how they operate, there is, at least from my limited eperience a very noticeable difference in kick between the 2, the Cs1 being far smoother of a shot and not because of a placebo effect from the sound signature. Hell, my VIS shooting at the same velocity as the 170r (280fps) was far smoother, but not as smooth as the Cs1.

    • @Dave-wy5nq
      @Dave-wy5nq 4 года назад +1

      170r's and CS2s are not nearly identical actually. The Gamma Pro core is s lot different than the previous gamma core. That said, your experience definitely doesn't mirror mine. My current main shooter is a 170r, and the only gun I own that is 'softer' is my Vanquish 1.5 w V16 core...and it is literally the softest shot that exists in paintball; it's softer than any other gun, ever.
      I have a Victus with a Reflex engine, which I love shooting. But, if I'm comparing the shot to a 170r , it's a jack-hammering shotgun in comparison. I don't doubt your account of your experience at all, but it makes me wonder what's wrong with that 170r you were shooting for sure.
      Thanks for watching, and commenting. I really appreciate it and you!

    • @brucecook502
      @brucecook502 4 года назад

      @@Dave-wy5nq Well the 170r belonged to a coworker of mine, we both work at a paintball field but it was very obvious he wasnt taking too much care of that 170r. He was using it all the time and never cleaned out broken aint from the breech and rarely the barrel, and it didnt seem to shoot as smooth as what I noticed in videos. Ive never got to shoot or play with any PE guns except for that 170r, the ego '05 when it came out in 2005, and more recently got to test out a CS1.5(which was the smoothest marker ive personally ever shot), so I dont have the eperience with the CS2 to assert that it isnt a smooth shooting marker.
      I do remember Jake from team insanity saying tht the vanquish was the most smoothest shooting marker he ever used, and have heard others say that in comments as well. I was away from paintball from 2011-2017 so I never got to exerience how smooth and light markers had gotton in those years, and was shocked at how light they have become, and couldnt believe how smooth the CS1.5 was. It's a far cry from the smoothness of the intimidators from back when I got into speedball, even my VIS is much smoother and lighter than all other markers I had used in the past but that CS1.5 was something else lol.

  • @myrontodd1436
    @myrontodd1436 2 года назад

    Nice review. I do have to disagree with your opinion of the shot softness between the 2 markers. I have a cs2 and recently picked up a CSR, which as you stated, is functionally the same as a geo4. But when I shot the CSR using my spire 3, not only did it feel slightly softer than my cs2, but I had to increase the sensitivity of my spire to be able to reliably register the shot on the CSR vs the cs2. Still haven’t shot the CSR enough to have gathered an opinion on which I prefer, but they are both amazing.

    Now I see what you mean. I brand new CS2 and Geo 4 have a very similar shoot quality (feel). Different sound signature though. However, my teammates broken in CS2 shoots on par with a Luxe ICE or older DMs. Interesting to see if a broken in Geo 4 will achieve that level of smoothness.

    what are you thoughts on the geo 3.0 with IV core. for the value and able to tune?

    • @airtimepaintball463
      @airtimepaintball463  3 года назад +1

      There is no meaningful tuning to be done apart from the SFR, because any meaningful deviation from the stock settings results in a significant decrease in cycling reliability.
      As I mentioned in the video, I don't thing the Geo 3x is a good value because the noid in them is out of production (but so far is available), and not rebuildable. You can get a CS1 for the same money, still get the IV core, and have a currently manufactured, readily available, and serviceable noid.

      I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but neither of them has a 'drop shot.' Physics tells us that if variables are controlled (gravity, wind, size shape and weight of the ball, etc.), a paintball that leaves the barrel at X velocity will travel exactly the same distance at exactly the same trajectory as any other, regardless of what marker shot it.

      I have a 170R and recently got a CS2 Pro. Honestly, not worth the upgrade. The 170 is lighter and slimmer. I like the CS2 grip a little better but the 170 has a nicer screen. I don’t care about all the presets and stuff in the board. I leave them both on Semi 10.5. The CS feels nicer in my hands but not 2x the cost nicer. Shoot identically.
