I watched the musical and bruh i want to cry everytime this scene comes around. Especially when Dmitry says "I didn't tell you that!" And she goes "You didn't have to. I remembered!" For some reason that makes me cry.
HECK YEAH ONE OF MY FAVES OF THE NEW SONGS ADDED A little sad they didn't keep Dmitri's little offended "Hey!" after Anya says "Not too clean" I felt it added a little more into their relationship. How they've grown into friendly teasing and bickering, from plain annoyance. But still love it.
@@kchan675 he was supposed to know that. They both knew that they were talking about him, they just didn't know that Anya was the real princess. He thought (at first) that she was just going along with the story he had given her
This song makes me cry!!! It makes me wanna see this musical soooooo badly!!! Even though this isn't how it happened in the movie it's still a very nice/different approach. I love it!!!!
I think Alexei's story is far worse. He had to sit and watch as his family was killed, then he was killed. They did that as the monarchy was a patriarchy and he was the first in line for the throne and the secret police wanted to torture him first before killing him.
Regina George historians are divided on the subject. However I read something that said if any were seen still breathing they were stabbed. Still, I hope somehow she miraculously survived :/
Yanno, once this guy from my high school dueted this with his childhood friend in my small town at a rented theater. A friend of mine and my drama teacher did the tech for his show, and it was... an experience. There are 3 songs I will never hear the same after hearing Kevin sing them. This one, Music of the Night, and Evermore. Sometimes when hearing these songs I get a bit sad, because I have no idea where he is now after he graduated, and these are songs I'll never hear him sing again. But it's because of how much he inspired me that these songs hold the importance to me they do. Whoever read literally all of that, thanks for listening, and I hope that if you don't already have one song that feels special and reminds you of someone, you find that song. Have a good day/night!
Do you guys want lyric videos or just the music? Someone else has no uploaded the music here ruclips.net/video/FfeFUOjQsVQ/видео.html but if you still want lyric videos let me know (I won't be offended if you don't lol) x
The show just closed on broadway today but I saw it earlier this week and it was beautiful and christy gave the role all her heart and it was simply amazing. Go see the touring show if you still can.
Wait so did they both recognize each other during this song, or was it later in the broadway show? I really wanna see it, but we can't. So I'm also wondering when did this song take place? The end? Middle? Beginning?
Isabella Espenilla This song takes place towards the end. This is slightly before the ballet. They recognize each other in this song. Dimitri didn't work as a palace boy in the musical. The scene they're painting is the moment they "met" (so to speak, since he just ran towards her and started shouting her name).
Alex Cousins Okay thanks! Also can you recommend any musicals to me that are similar to Into the Woods,Mamma Mia, or Finding Neverland. Those are my favorites.
Claire Province well its not a musical live, but there's an animated movie called Thumbelina. It has a great soundtrack with fun songs to sing to. Only if you haven't seen it though
***** Malachi Fuimaono ***** Thank you all for the recommendations. I will try to look into them. I'm really trying to immerse myself into more musical theater.
Wait I have a question;if Dimitri recognizes her during this song? Then what happens with the whole thing about the music box?in there's a rumor in St. Petersburg Dimitri gets the music box from one of the merchants.but in the movie he already had the music box with him so did he not what does he not work in the palace like in the movie? I'm sorry if this does not make sense.
Hannah Mowbray oh thank you for clearing it up for me! What a shame, I was hoping he worked in the palace in the show as well as how he did in the movie.
Melissa Rosales In the movie, he'd always had the music box, because he picked it up when Anastasia dropped it in the rush to escape from the rebels. In the Broadway musical, he barters for the music box from a man on the street for two cans of beans. He knows it holds significance to Anastasia, but he does not know who Anastasia is (after she's lost). The music box is significant because it's not that Dimitri knows what the music box is, but because the empress knows what it is. Dimitri did not work in the palace. Dimitri knows Anastasia as the princess, and this was the moment they "met."
All these comments are sad, and yes, this song is amazing but I can't over the fact that the beginning sounded like something from Mulan. I think I'm just crazy.

ill never get over how magical the people on broadway's voices sound
Well said, my friend!
PREACH
My favorite part is when Dmitry says "Your Highness" at the end and it makes me want to squeal!
Ikr! I'm just like holy princess Anastasia
I felt the same, but I just saw the show and he did that instead of kissing her, so I wish he didn't :( But it's still awesome!!!
samee
Megan Helmer it makes me sad because they were about to kiss!

SAME SAME T-T
I saw it yesterday on broadway and have been listening to all the songs ever since!
I’ve seen the show three times. Once in preview is and twice when after it opened and it’s so great!
I saw this last Friday-I wiped a tear away at the end of this song, Derek and Christy were magic in this scene!
I saw a touring production earlier today and I hard-core sobbed during this song and quartet at the ballet
I hate thinking of what actually happened to the real Anastasia. It makes me sad.😭😭😭😭
The real Anastasia was shot and killed with her family when she was fourteen
@@mitchellbachman9797 We know.
@@mitchellbachman9797 Seventeen, actually. Her brother was thirteen.

I'm gonna say these are among the absolute best voices on Broadway. Easy.
Their voices are absolutely beautiful together and apart.

I know this didn’t happen in the movie but I love this moving story of the parade. (‘:
Definitely one of the best romantic musical theatre duets. I love this song, it makes me so happy!!
This is my favorite song in the whole Musical that I had to start singing along with them
Crying. This song is so beautiful
It’s like the scene from the movie where anya is talking about the boy and the wall. It’s so beautifully sung ❤️
The show just closed on broadway today but I saw it earlier this week and it was beautiful and christy gave the role all her heart and it was simply amazing. Go see the touring show if you still can.
I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!
I am in LOVE with Derek
Dimtry
Who WOULDNT be?!?
Technically Anya could be just another person in the parade and saw dmitri bow
true, but they both say how the boy called her name

This is cute but I like the movie version of how they knew each other better lol
Wait I have a question;if Dimitri recognizes her during this song? 2019?
In a Crowd of Thousands
Derek Klena, Christy Altomare
It was June
I was ten
I still think of that day now and then
A parade
And a girl
And a crowd of thousands
She sat straight
As a queen
Only eight
But so proud and serene
How they cheered
How I stared
In that crowd of thousands
Then I started to run
And to call out her name
As the crowd on the road went wild
I reached out with my hand
And looked up
And then she smiled
The parade
Traveled on
With the sun in my eyes
She was gone
But if I were still ten
In that crowd of thousands
I'd find her again
You're making me feel I was there too
Maybe you were
Make it part of your story
A parade
A parade
Passing by
Passing by
It was hot
Not a cloud in the sky
Then a boy
Caught my eye
In a crowd of thousands
He was thin
Not too clean
There were guards
But he dodged in between
Yes he made himself seen
In that crowd of thousands
Then he called out my name
And he started to run
Through the sun and the heat
And crowd
I tried not to smile
But I smiled
And then he bowed
I didn't tell you that
You didn't have to
I remember!
The parade
Traveled on
With the sun in my eyes
You were gone
But I knew
Even then
In a crowd of thousands
I'd find you again
Your highness
It's like the animated version didn't have that song.
