The Platypus IS better than a Staccato P, but Stealth Arms' customer service is also outstanding. After a year of ownership, I broke mine down and took it to my local gunsmith to have night sights installed, got home, went to reassemble, and couldn't find my barrel bushing anywhere. I still can't imagine how it happened, as I put all of the components in a Ziploc, but after 2 hours of searching, hope had run out. I called up Stealth Arms and they told me that they would not only replace the barrel bushing AND ship it to me free of charge, but they would also polish it before sending it out so that it matched my original build. Fantastic people over there!
Yeah, I’m a new Platypus owner and I gotta say, it’s amazing. I don’t “own” a staccato but I’ve had one in my possession for the past 4 months and have shot it extensively….. I think they shot equally flat but the cost will always sway me towards Stealth Arms

S&W M&P guy here. My natural glock draw is always aiming slightly high. With my new platypus, my draw is dead on, center glass. Even if my grip is slightly off to the right/left, my dot is literally always along the “equator”. Absolutely Love this pistol.

Ordered mine early spring. It came in a few weeks ago ahead of schedule; and since then I have roughed it up. I have put 640 rounds through it without cleaning it out of the box. No malfunctions with 40 different types of ammo, Russian steel, all brass types ranging from new JHP to 20 year old tarnished Luger rounds. It runs smoothly even when we unload the magazine fast. It’s extremely precise. We were hitting 1x1 squares at 100 & 150 yards with no issues. (Optic for sight & SureFire light for weight/stability help at that range. ) I would be glad to discuss other things/questions people have before purchasing. I had unanswered questions even after it came in, that I had to answer myself.
IMO the main problem with malfunctions with 1911 is the old steel follower magazines. Switched to Wilson combat 10’s and I have no ammo related malfunctions my 1911’s will eat anything. Springfield Operator and Dan Wesson classic. I only see an issue after hundreds of rounds when it runs dry. Glock mags are renowned for being bulletproof and this is a great combo
@@nuclearkamikaze Great combo indeed. I have added several +3 and +5 mag extensions to my kit. One of which is the Odin Works brand. 22 rounds on my favorite platform with the 3 pound renowned 1911 trigger, is like a birthday present that never gets old.

However, once I started competing, I looked into the 1911/2011 platforms and realized I knew absolutely nothing. @@brandonkey181 I have never felt like a Glock was more secure, at all. However that may be due to their poor texturing and not the grip angle. But, for what it's worth, I've never shot a Glock with tape or aftermarket grips that felt notably better than stock. The angle is just not anatomically correct (for me).
Great video. Platypus is a great gateway from Glock to 2011 platform since everyone has tons of mags and the 2011 mags are pricey. Shooting is hard to compare since that is 100% on the user. Build quality though is a different story when it comes to Staccato. SHTF scenario: Platypus or Staccato I grab my Staccato P without a second thought.

You saved me , I have a staccato c2 with TB on order , a good deal too 2339 from 2599 , but this stealth and the fact it uses glock mags omg I have to get this for 400$ less AND full custom color and everything put me at 1930$ thank you thank you ❤❤❤❤❤

I have 6k rounds through my Tisas DS 1911 and it hasn't failed once. For $475 it has been more reliable than my Staccato P Duo. $4k or 475... Also the owner of SDS imports lives next to me. He said if anything does go wrong he would replace the part for not charge.
I bought one of the in stock models late November so I didn't get to customize mine unfortunately, however it was set up exactly the way I wanted mine besides the finger grooves. They do ship extremely fast and I got mine in two days. So if you don't want to wait, make sure you check the in stock models.
I have both... I like the Staccato better. It's a better pistol in my opinion. I shoot it better as well. The Platypus doesn't have an anodized frame. That bugs me some as well. Custom options aren't a factor for me as much. I like most guns "blacked out" anyway.
Staccato is in a different league. It’s been put through the paces in lots of environments for years now where the Platypus just doesn’t have the track record. I think the Platypus is cool but it hasn’t earned its spot alongside the Staccato yet, maybe it will one day.
I like it, but think tradional 2011 grip modules are more apealing than the platypus grip/lower. I would prefer a more traditional 2011 as my first 2011 but definitely a platypus for a second. Very good triggers

The work on these is good and it's a local place here. The customizer and all on their site has undergone massive improvements in the past year since it's gotten popularity with a lot of people here on yt. I want one at some point but it's a big buy especially with the wait. The only issue I see is that it's proprietary because no other 1911s use glock parts at all like the slide stop can't be swapped with others because of that.
I’ve had my platypus for about 8 months. I’ve probably got 9-10k rounds without a clean, just oil, and it’s never had a hiccup. I couldn’t recommend them more.

Intriguing pistols, but no effing way I'd wait 6 months for one. I wouldn't wait 6 weeks. If they want real success, and/ or consider competing with Staccato, they need to manufacture enough to keep them readily available to buy off the shelf, like Staccato does. Pick 3 color schemes and pump out a bunch.
Plat is cool but definitely not in the same realm of fit and finish as a Staccato. I have both. I would definitely take a Plat over a Prodigy. My humble opinion.

The Glock grip angle is the one problem with Glock, and the Platypus fixed that.

That Staccato not locking back kinda sucks for as much as they cost. Hard to keep count in a real life fire fight sometimes especially at a fast rate.

Question have you tried the altlas Athena or artimus compared to the platapus? Does the plataous come close? Is the Athena that much better
If you’re going to "group" the least you can do is take your time evenly between all pistols.

Black Nitride isnt the same as cerakote. It's no extra layers are applied to the barrel, black nitride is a steel treatment.

Intriguing pistols, but no effing way I'd wait 6 months for one. I wouldn't wait 6 weeks. If they want real success, and/ or consider competing with Staccato, they need to manufacture enough to keep them readily available to buy off the shelf, like Staccato does. Pick 3 color schemes and pump out a bunch.

Plat is cool but definitely not in the same realm of fit and finish as a Staccato. I have both. I would definitely take a Plat over a Prodigy. My humble opinion.
