There are exceptions, but any genre dominated by a race or ethnicity, has those a$$h0l3s. Just make/love metal. You'll find some awesome artists. Derrick Green of Sepultura for example. Heck, Living Colour from the 80's counts. Some of my favorite artists outside metal are Aretha, Otis, Al Green, Billy Holiday, Gladys, Robert Johnson, Bob Marley...the list goes on of amazing R&B, Jazz, Reggae, and Soul artists. Metal wouldn't exist without them. Lots of white people... I'd love for that to change.
Candiria is another great and influential band with black members and an eclectic mix of metal, rap and even jazz. Tosin Abasi from Animals as Leaders is a generational guitar talent, probably the best there is. You can argue that Alice in Chains is metal (metalized grunge) and their current singer is black. With the metal movement currently spreading across the world with some exciting new band from all continents, we should see a lot more people of various ethnicities in the genre and that's exciting as hell because metal was always about exploring possibilities and adding elements and influences from other genres and cultures.

I thoroughly recommend having a second screen / tab open with the lyrics (YooToobs's auto-subtitles thing doesn't work with music). Having said that, Tatiana does a great job of writing which allows you hear most of what she's growling/screaming in the extreme sections (once your ear becomes accustomed!) without having to reach for a lyric sheet immediately. Also, to folks wasting time & effort bickering about genre labels.... #FcukGenres , #IfItsGoodItsGood ;)
That’s the biggest information fail in vocal discussion is that metal vocals are just screaming and yes thats true 😂, but there is way more than that coming form a vocalist of both styles there are just as many techniques and different screams that you can master and manipulate just like clean singing it’s just not known information, but I’m glad more people are opening up and discovering the world of metal and the talented Vocalist’s within.

It's sad that metal doesn't make people feel more included. The reality is that if you went to that festival, you would be welcomed with open arms, and yet... it's a sea of white faces. I'm a bit ashamed of my brethren. I'd rather see a sea of all shades, that's when life is most fun.
