Me, too ! When I first started teaching in the 1970s, my office had bookcases full of old readers. I got transferred to another building. I should have asked if I could have had some of those books. I did not, and I do regret it. I do have a small collection of Dick and Jane readers that I have acquired over the years.

The big coloring books, is sandwich them between two pieces of cardboard... I also use scrapped foam core, connection... they do advance so they have all kinds of interesting pieces , it's usually used for mounting fine art.. write do not Bend , you can't bend it anyways it just makes the customer feel better, that you really care about their purchase- put it in a big poly mailer, tan mailing envelope-- tape it down, afix postage - you're good to go.. this is the same way that I ship sheet music books, and other large format books... if you have a big enough Bubble mailer you can put that over the top... you probably don't have big enough Bubble mailers.... I think I have some that are 17 by 23 or so... but I've been selling books for 10 years plus...
A little eBay tape you're ready to go... you want it to be distinctive so it stands out the carrier's bag... you need to get people to start saving their scrap boxes in flat cardboard so you can recycle them... when you find one of those Oddities you always start looking for a box... might even pre package-it... help your packing anxiety... same with those TVs you keep on swearing you're not going to buy.... find a box pre-pack...
Good find on that baby Singer sewing machine... I need to list the one in my entryway...

I thrift for anything and everything like you do and I love it. Is it the best way to get the most out of our time as a business, NOPE. When it comes down to our hourly rate when thrifting for anything that turns a buck it never seems like it works out to be a high hourly rate but OMG is it so much fun.
