You are absolutely right. I trained in this style when I was stationed in Korea in the army. Got a red belt in combat TKD. They tell you that this is not traditional tkd. It's a modern mixed martial art that combines techniques from various systems they studied to improve their modern military tkd.

KOREAN HAS BAD HABBIT OF STEALING MARTIAL ARTS OF OTHERS
      About Korean martial arts
      First of all
Koreans says teakwondo is originated from teakkyon
However Teakkyon has no real evidence as real martial arts. But it was foot stepping folk game during the May-Dano festival game of Korea.
LOOK AT THIS OLD REAL STYLE OF TEAKKYON AND HOW YOU CAN SAY THIS IS REAL MARTIAL ARTS?
      m.ruclips.net/video/bhaai2v_c84/видео.html [Open]
MODERN TEAKKYON KICK IS JUST FROM TEAKWONDO WHICH IS FROM SHOTOKAN KARATE KICK.
THERE IS NO SUCH KICKS OF TEAKWONDO IN REAL TEAKKYON
Song Deok-gi, who is said to have inherited Taekkyon from Im Ho is considered a representative figure of real Taekkyon.
But his movement is not a real martial arts at all.
      m.ruclips.net/video/bhaai2v_c84/видео.html [Open]
Tekkyon is just foot stamping game. No any real historical records as real martial arts in any documents. The showily kicks are came from teakwondo after ww2 which is copied from shotokan karate
Also no any historical records so no one knows even what is the original rules too.
None of the original texts of Korean historical books such as “Samguk Sagi,” “Samguk Yusa,” “Goryeo-sa,” “Goryeo-sa Jeong-gang,” “Goryeo-sa Jeol-yo,” or “Joseon Wangjo Sillok” contain any mention of “Taekkyon.” Furthermore, there are no schools or sects, scrolls or manuscripts like those found in Japanese martial arts or Chinese martial arts that preserve the ancient style, original form and the Hanja characters are unknown.
In South Korea, Taekkyon is claimed to be a martial art that was already practiced during the Three Kingdoms period. One piece of evidence is the wall painting in Tomb No. 3 of Anyang, which was painted in the 5th century, depicting Taekkyon [3]. However, this painting only shows two people facing each other with their hands open, and it does not depict the characteristic foot techniques found in Taekkyon.
Conclusion , Teakkyon has no real evidence as real martial arts. But it was foot stepping traditional game of Korea
      ABOUT SUBAK
Subak is only mentioned in book.
and no schools or sects, scrolls or manuscripts like those found in Japanese martial arts or Chinese martial arts that preserve the ancient style.
So Subak is NOT TO DO WITH TEAKWONDO teacnically
To consider the age and the situation of joseon era. SUBAK is likely Chinese style martial arts for Korean troops of joseon era .
      ABOUT TANG SOO DO
first organization of korean martial arts before teakwondo was called themselves as Tang soo do.
In 1959, the Korea Tang Soo Do Association (later Korea Taekwondo Association or KTA) was established.
Because , In 1952, South Korean president Syngman Rhee witnessed a martial arts demonstration OF KARATE WHICH LEARED FROM JAPAN by South Korean Army officers Choi Hong-hi and Nam Tae-hi from the 29th Infantry Division. """He misrecognized the technique on display as taekkyon""",[20][21][22] and urged martial arts to be introduced to the army under a single system.
      >all of founder of teakwondo aka ex tang soo do was shotokan karate student during the war and teakwondo was made from directly shotokan karate.
teakwondo is modern made culture from moden shotokan karate. so traditional teakwondo means nothing but a shotokan karate or tang soo do which is direct translation of "karate do” in japan
also there is no real record of survival purely korean martial arts except of shillum and Korean archery
TANG SOO DO MEANS KARATE DO. GET THE REAL.
Tang Soo Do (Hangul: 당수도, Hanja: 唐手道 pronounced [taŋ.su.do]) is a Korean martial art based on karate
"Tang Soo Do" (당수도) is the Korean pronunciation of the Hanja 唐手道 (pronounced Táng shǒu dào in Chinese),[10] and translates literally to "The Way of the Tang Hand."
The same characters can be pronounced "karate-dō" in Japanese.
TANG SOO DO MEANS KARATE DO IN KOREAN LANGUAGE

For everyone who is confused, this is modern combat TKD system. When i trained in this in Korea (during my US army service), they actually tell you they studied martial arts from around the world to improve their fighting system. Modern combat TKD is kinda like jeet kune do, as they take what works and leave what does not. So when you see the trapping, aikido, judo, muay thai, and taekwondo kicks, thats because this is basically the more of a modern mix martial arts taekwondo. Yes traditional Korean martial arts are at the core. But they tell you that they are not too prideful to adapt and evolve their taekwondo to a more modern and and effective style by learning from other systems. So no they didn't "steal from other arts". They created a new military fighting style by adapting. Modern Army Combatives (MAC), has dont the say thing by creating a style for the US Army, that combine popular styles used in MMA. Sanda (the Chinese kickboxing style that is also the fighting style for their military and police style), is also an almagam of various Chinese martial arts, taking the most effective techniques. Many other military fighting systems do this. Of course taekwondo means the art of kicking and punching in Korean, which is a generic as saying Karate. So its ok for them to call this a modern combat TKD or other variant using the name TKD. It loke saying modern combat karate. Just like many modern American martial arts, chose to be called kempo or karate. I got a red belt in combat TKD while i was in Korea and they literally tell you this. They blatantly say we combined arts like TKD, Muay Thai, and several others, to create modern combat TKD system that is fuctionional, modern, realistic, combative system.

I started training in Ju Jutsu around thirty five years ago (it's a Japanese system; this was well before BJJ was prominent in the U.S.), gravitated to Krav Maga during my late teens/early twenties, then learned combatives extensively while I was in the Army.
I see where you're coming from and I understand what you mean while observing this. But, if there's one thing I've learned over the years it's that just about every "modern" iteration of a martial art incorporates similar movements, drills and technique for what these guys are demonstrating. Neither one of us would know exactly what system they're utilizing unless we were there to ask/participate.

I think the person who uploaded the video just exaggerated the title.
    I'm sorry about that.
But no Koreans who see this think it is related to taekwondo.
It looks like a completely different form of martial arts, so who would think so?
Wasn't this type of martial arts famous around the world for a long time?
Everyone knows that the person who is interested in martial arts is Cali of the Philippines.
And Koreans who are not interested in martial arts know that this martial art comes from at least another country, even if they don't know exactly which country it belongs to.
No one thinks it's Korean martial arts, so you don't have to worry.
They will just think that Koreans who have learned from other countries are teaching martial arts in Korean style.
Koreans are not that stupid. Anyone can easily find out which country they belong to by searching on the Internet.

Korean is basically always copying martial arts of others afer ww2.
I told you teakwondo is originated shotokan karate and tang soo do(karate do) after ww2 and it is modern made martial arts. So there is no ancient teakwondo , ancient teakwondo means shotokan karate since all of founder of teakwondo was student of karate.
most of wellknown Korean martial arts is made after japanese martial arts after ww2 except korean bows and wrestling.
Teakwondo is originated in shotokan karate. all of founders of teakwondo
Hapkido is originated in aiki jujutsu
and hawarangdo has no any real record as martial arts.
Tekkyon is just foot stamping game. No any real historical records as real martial arts in any documents. The showily kicks are came from teakwondo after ww2
Kenjitsu and jujutsu is originated in japan.
Karate is originated in okinawa and its rooted in china. No one deny it as like Korean is keep on doing origine propaganda of others
Haedong Gumdo’s origin is 1987 made from kenjutsu
There is no historical records on the swordsmanship of Balhae kingdom.
And now TKDD knife skill is all clearly originated in Kali of Philippine.
Anyone who is thinking this is not originated in Kali is only crazy Korea nationalists.

0:40 if you are fighting the same opponent this can only be used once and you have to do it fast don't give him time to react or realise what going on and if you failed don't do it again cause they will expect it and it's really easy to stop it I've try it with a training knife and the first time it worked but the second time he was able to hold his arm and punch my face

The title says TKDD tactical self-defense. No doubt is a modern system developed especially for the army. Similar to its cousin Musat the SK Seals use. While it may draw influence from other martial arts but so does all modern system and do they need to spell that out every time?

    • @Xentradi97
