At ~6:50 you say men from Bridge Four bring him "A book called Oathbringer". They actually bring him the sword Oathbringer, Dalinar's former Shardblade, which Sadeas was in possession of after the events of the end of WoK. The book Oathbringer has not been written at this point as Dalinar starts writing it at the very end of this volume of SA.
@Tomer Michaeli Thanks for pointing out the Taln mistake. He's very much alive at the end of Oathbringer, and with team Honor. Even if he's not all with it.
Small clarification: Dalinar's family wasn't hiding alcohol from him. He was literally drinking it so fast it seemed to disappear to him. Dalinar accuses Gavilar and Adolin of hiding it from him, but we get a comment from Gavilar, I think, that Dalinar just goes through it too fast.
Jezrien was not the one who endured the 4500 years of torture. That was Taln. Jezrien was the one in the prologue of WoK waiting for Kalak and who actually ordered poor Taln doomed to that fate. Side note: also he is Ash’s father and his death was a true death and one he can’t be reborn from. All other heralds felt it happen. I think you just got tired at the end there Daniel!
@@Kiki-oo3bw Have you read Oathbringer if not this is minor spoiler so don't read on... Ash is short for Shalash and is the Herald who has been going around wrecking statues and paintings. At the end of Oathbringer we see her and Taln feel the death of Jezrien and she says my father is dead.

I forget the details of how that confrontation went down but I think the unmade ended up being expelled from urithiru and the room it was residing in turned out to be a strange device for an unknown purpose
Basically ReShephir creates violent shadow images of people in an attempt to reconnect with its abandoned humanity, and Shallan is able to drive it off because Shallan reminds it of the radiant who imprisoned it. Well at least that's what's hinted at, it's not 100% clear. It's possible that Shallan's fractured impression of herself, as well her resolve to learn more about ReShephir confronted the unmade with a mirror of its own thoughts and actions which scared it off, and the woman Shallan thought was the radiant who imprisoned ReShephir was the unmade herself. Mostly I go with option #2 because I'm pretty sure that by the end of the series the Radiants will be more than just full Knights Radiant and instead be full on metaphysical creatures like the Heralds and the Unmade, so that there can be a coherent explanation of how those kinds of creatures came about. Does anyone else say Sadeus like this: Suh Day Us... I switched to Sad E Us after listening to the Audiobook of oathbringer but the first two books I said it Suh Day Us.
I do. I also say JAS nuh, not YAS nuh.
I always said "SAY-dee-yus"
My pronunciations:
Adolin - same emphasis and vowel sound as "mandolin"
Shallan - like Alan
Renarin - like MEN are in - not men ARE in.
Jasnah - like JAZZ-nuh
Sadeus - like SAY-dee-us
Now I'm wondering if I've been wrong all this time - and whether I could change it in my head if I tried. 😄
I listened to the books from the very start so no
You mixed up Jezrien with Taln. Moash killed the former, the latter was the one who endured 4500 years of torture in Damnation.
Taln was actually present in the Battle of Thaylen Field - along with his Herald girlfriend, Shalash (who also is Jezrien's daughter). Both Taln and Shalash were taken-in/captured by Jasnah after her coronation.
I don't have time to finish my re-listen so this video is a godsend.
Letting you know you had a typo in the description :) might wanna fix that
Thank you for working so hard on keeping us all updated all the time :D
Great video! It took me 5 months to read this book and you helped jog my memory! Great work!
Been waiting to finish oath bringer so I could watch this, today is the day, thanks Daniel
This was perfect summary which gets all refreshed since i just finished the book, now on to the 4th book. Thanks Daniel. 😊
Wow. Just Wow. I saw what you were going to try to do and thought it was impossible. Amazing. It was a good idea from a viewer's perspective to have two people doing the summary.
MY. MAN. exactly what I wanted thank you so much Daniel , greatly appreciated
Epic because I didn’t have time to reread Oathbringer before WoR
I found your channel when I was searching for Way of Kings summaries way back when. Cool to see you going back to your roots ;)
oh my god thank you so much! I can feel the huge amount of effort put in this video!
Thank you for the summary. It's been a 2 month since i read the Oathbringer book and i want to remember what's happend before jumping to the next book
Daniel, thank you so much. Life totally unbalanced. No time to reread Oathbringer, but now I can start Rhythm of War for the Holidays and relax.
Thank you! ... i remember you recommending this series a year or two ago and now here I am completely hooked pre-ordered Rhythm of War appreciate the recap
Awesome video! Just finished Oathbringer and I love to watch these when I am done to see your thoughts and make sure I remember everything important :D
Thanks guys. I forgot how much I forgot about this monster book. Literally starting ROW now. Perfect timing for the lockdown here in Canada.
Don't mean to nit-pick, but you asked for it. Bridge four brings Dalinar the sword Oathbringer not the book. That hasn't been written yet. Loving this anyway. It's so hard to find a good knife, sometimes.
This book reeeeeally clarified all that "Blackthorn" sht Sadeas had been going on about since book 1. Cause ... dayum, Dalinar.
You total G.
I was always sad this was never out. You came through at the last minute like Bridge 4 came back for Dalinar.
"YOU CANNOT HAVE MY PAIN" -Dalinar. AKA best line ever
This is the nice little review of the story so far before Rythm of Was comes out :) thankyou!
15:24 Renarin is Dalinar's own son, not Gavilar :)
I only gave Oathbringer 4 stars but on reread I bumped it to 5. I really loved it.
33:17 Daniel suddenly turning into Puffin Forest
I'll be coming back to this video! I'm not quite at the last battle in this book.... it's taking FOREVER!!!!
So needed! Thank you! No way I was going to get a reread done before release!
Thank you!! I needed this so badly🙏🙏
Thanks for this. I binged books one to three a couple of years ago (thinking naively that it was a trilogy, since it's fantasy). Now it's very nebulous in my mind. Pre-order for Rhythm of War is already in, though…
Think I need to reread. I remember almost nothing, it seems!
I literally finished it last week!!!! And now ive read the first 19 chapters of rhythm of war! I’m so excited for this
22:58. "It's really fun to watch..when you are so immersed in the story that you forget its a book and all of the images are in your head 😆
Great summary. I am astounded though by how many people don’t know how to say Azure.
ah, sure
