This song was about overcoming addiction and the damage that it'd done. I lost two brothers to suicide and one was sober for about a year before purposely swallowing a bottle of pills. He'd became sober after our mum had passed and wanted to be a better man. I was the only one in the family who spoke to him and checked up on him. Was forced to stop contact. A week before being able to get a phone to reconnect and check in he took his life. I miss all thier voices. hearing this song gave me the ability to listen to a song and start a painful healing process. I related to the lyrics deeply, and this song made me cry. The healing isn't ever over, but it will be easier to recover over time.
A couple of years before i found this song, i attempted to take my life. I was stumpled upon and the pain i seen from the person who walked in was enough reason to get help.
