Sublimation inks are dye-sub inks and DTF inks are water based inks. DTF Ink is a liquid being printed onto a film. Sublimation ink goes through a chemical process. It is a solid ink that transitions from a solid state directly to a gas without ever becoming a liquid. There is no white sublimation ink. Therefor there is no white sublimation ink.
Great question. So you can create a transfer that can be directly applied to apparel with a Sawgrass. Though the term used would be to “sublimate” the apparel with a transfer. DTF is creating a different type of transfer that is not sublimation. The benefits of DTF are going to be speed and versatility over sublimation. @@ColDesiColman Thanks for replying. I’m trying to find a way to print on cotton shirts without using a cutting machine (which is what I have to do with sublimation). DTF would be ideal because it doesn’t require you to use a cutting machine. Without having to buy another printer, I was asking what would I have to do to use my sawgrass printer for dtf transfers.
@@meganbee. ah yes. Most applications that allow for sublimating on cotton involve a cutter and other materials. Though you can try Vapor apparel. The Basic T from Vapor has a very nice “cotton” type feel people enjoy. And it’s sublimation certified. colmanandcompany.com/short-sleeve-basic-t-shirt.html
Hand feel is a phrase used to describe the feeling of a design on a shirt when you touch it. Sublimation has absolutely no feeling. It is part of the shirt. If you close your eyes and touch the design you wouldn't know where it is.
Hi I’m new to the tshirt business. I’m basically stuck between choosing if I want to go the dtf route or sublimation? Can someone break down the pros and cons. I read sublimation last longer but dtf colors are better. I also read that dtf ink works on sublimation paper as well? If so, do the colors still come out as good using dtf ink on sublimation. Can someone confirm these statements or add statements? Also best brands?

Great explanation! I am a hobbyist, and didn't even know that DTF was an option. This is so fascinating!
Thanks so much for your presentation, very clear and concise. Well done.
Thank you. This is the information I have been looking for.
On the shirt, you wore in this video when it was pressed does it leave it a little faded where the design is? How would you control that fade?
Love DTF and sublimation got both good products.
Thank you, could you please, make a video about power consumption? Which one consumes more power?
What's the best printing technology to print face or picture of persons onto a T-shirt?
Great Video.

If the sublimation transfers are stored in a dry, cool, dark environment they can last several months.
I’ve got a LEC2, do you know if I can use dtf on it
I do not

What kind of maintenance it’s required?
Sorry I didn't see this Tracy - if you're asking about the DTF printer you can find it in this video: vimeo.com/664783678
I just wanna ask, are DTF and Heat Transfer the same thing?
1:08 what do you mean by "it has no hand"?

@@ColDesiColman oh I see. Thanks for that neat explanation. I'm planning on starting my own biz. Kinda tired of corp world as accountant.
