May the forces of evil get lost and confused on their way to your house!
where is this song : Lombus - Cosmic Soup
Can’t thank you enough for these time stamps.
This trailer brings home the insane level of creative alchemy that was happening in this decade! There must have been a new science fiction / fantasy classic hitting theatres every other week!
@French Sailer Nah, I'd say thanks to people not getting offended so easily and producers allowing film studios to expand their creativity instead of trying to build "Marvel-like" franchises
The 1980s. The upper echelon of human imagination & creativity. Surrealist visual & audio indulgence unlike anything seen since.
The 80's were just one peak. We remember them so fondly because our culture took a dive immediately after. If you want a perpetual age of innovation and freedom, you must fight for it. ancient-forums(dot)com
You're absolutely correct about the 80s being one of many peaks in creativity and imagination. I don't believe the dive happened in the 1990s, though. I believe things leveled off in the 1990s and the nose-dive occurred in the early 2000s, and we've been there ever since, waiting for the next peak.
I hope the next one is "In Search of Fantasy". The 80s had the best fantasy movies of all time and to this day nothing has come close
Conan the Barbarian, Legend, Neverending Story, Labyrinthe etc
Don't forget Dragonslayer, The Beastmaster, Willow, Excalibur, Ladyhawke, Krull, The Princess Bride, etc.
@@44excalibur I love Willow. So criminally underrated.
The Dark Crystal.
Don't forget Highlander and the Ralph Bakshi Lord Of The Rings!
@Nimaz Sheik I was hoping for the exact same thing!
You can take a man out of the '80
But you can't take the '80 out of a man
This moved me so much I'm in tears of joy. The 80's Sci-Fi movie genre was the prime example of the human imagination was capable of with all that created freedom, a whole decade full of possibilities. *"As long as people continue to search for answers; they have a reason to live, a place to return. I believe in that future."* that quote screamed to me when I watched this trailer. Can't wait for this to come out in December!
In my most humble opinion the 80’s had so much more magic and art then todays movies ever will. There is still some good ones but the 80’s never die. I’m a 90’s kid but am a big fan of the 80’s
God!...the 80's, right in my wheelhouse.
I've seen just about everything mentioned here, and you forget, this was all from the 80's, the 1980's.
And I watched it with a wonder, that is hard to describe to the 2020's folk.
You younglings out there, I almost feel sorry for you, the abundance of riches we had, from just going
to a movie theatre.
Damn, i'm really aging myself now.
Just back this thing, I did.
I think this is the best 3 minutes 45 minutes restrospective I have seen in my whole life, merci beaucoup !
Im born in 1994 why for the love of GOD I feel nostalgic ?!?
Glad to see you're alive.
Me too I’m born 1994 and this my favorite music
I am too and like a loot this references. I first aproch on this because of the player read one book and movie that i watch 7 or 8 times
Cause you grew up with or was raised by someone who lived in the 80s... Duh.
I know why. You still caught up a lot from the late 80's xD
Everything about the 80’s was on point!
80th was the decade of creativity.. on music, movies, books, everything.. Best decade ever.
Man, how i love the 80's...
WOW! I wish that I had a DeLorean time machine to travel back to see the good old days of the 1980s.
80s horror and sci-fi always had me wanting to make movies. The worlds that were created always blew me away and the visuals were and still are astounding.
I'm don't know why, but always that's see this trailer, they fill me with energy, power and make drop some tears. Excellent for who make this video
“The Power! Such unspeakable power! I He-Man am no longer your equal” !
Like someone condensed my whole child hood memories in to 3 minutes and 45 seconds.
LONG LIVE THE 80S 🤘🤙
I purchased a copy a couple of days and cant wait to get it..i also went on e bay to get a copy of In search of the last action heros.im 50 and this is perfect to add to my collection. So many great memories of the 80s from the first time me and my family rented vcrs and vhs tapes to getting my first dvd player to getting my first blu ray player and getting into streaming.
Wow, The Final Countdown is one of my favorite 80s sci-fi. US carrier lost in time, jet dogfights on props, fantastic sci-fi navy film. I even thought of a story of a joint NATO-Russia carrier armada lost to another universe where we thought it's just a fictional story... fantasy/sci-fi video game stories..... with a twists of a lost naval armada.
True experiment philadelphia great
Yep. The ending was great.
loved the 80s,music movies and all.
This trailer is so good that I come back to watch it all the time
Loved In Search of Darkness, definitely backing this.
I am too
The Explorers and Flight of the Navigator will always be my two favourites
1. Back to the Future
2. The Running Man
3. Escape From New York
Three of the hit films I love
I like how within the first few hours of this trailer dropping, the campaign already reached its goal. Almost 24 hours later, it's at the 300% mark.
Thanks to this trailer I was able to discover Dance with the Dead and what an amazing band they are.
Man I'm old. I remember almost all of them.
Instantly drawn to this trailer, love the films, love the music. Cannot wait for this!
My whole childhood just flashed before my eyes!
"I wonder if we find the power of time travel, we can go back to these great times?..."
Me ~ 2020
I spoke with the director of this documentary yesterday and after hearing his passion for movies, the 80's and Sci-Fi, I am even more excited to watch this!
i feel like my life is flashing b4 my eyes...gnarly
Back to 80s forever forever
I had the chills for 3:45 seconds !!
I truly believe that with today’s technology there is a niche in film where movies with the 80’s aesthetics and outlook on the future can truly come to life. This genre of filmmaking is primed for a big return. The music is also making a comeback with channels like Newretrowave.
My Childhood friends all together in one movie...... My sweet googlie mooglie
I tell you the thing, what we had in 80s in western world, in Poland in some part it was represented in 90s. Finally we had these movies form 80s in TV and, VHS rental was huge success.
When I was living in UK since 2008 I asked some people if they knew these TV series, like MacGyver, and they didn't. And it all was played in Polish TV, just in 90s. With grate voice over translation.
Behold... 1 of the greatest trailers of all time
1 of the greatest trailers i've ever seen
Another time. Another world. In the age of Legends.
Lazerhawk. Overdrive!!
Everything was awesome!
Not a single film this century can top any of these class acts!
I was not born in the 80s but I have watched some of the movies shown In the video. I can gladly say that I'm glad I got to experience some of the movies from that era.
The story lines, the characters, the adventure, the practical effects, the awesome soundtracks, oh take me back to the Sci fi electro tidal wave that was the 80's.
Hahaha I watched all. Long live the 80s!
E.T The Extra-Terestrial
Blade Runner
The Thing
Three absolute gems
The editing is seriously on point
Выглядит супер! Будем ждать.
this woken up my dust covered 80s senses. can't wait to see it.
I can proudly say: I watched it all!
Already joined the 80s SCI-FI community when I was 6 or 7. Born 1980.
This is perfect.
I feel like we let the 80's down. As far as what it pointed the way to and our lack of measuring up to that promise. We're behind technologically (in some ways that's a good thing -*sentient A.I.* ) And we are definitely behind socially with our fellow man
Looks pretty badass! The decade that built me
~Trav
Well done trailer! God, that decade was so awesome!
I am already backing this project and I wish I could back the two earlier projects
Just got my copy! It'll be a wild ride to watch!
OMG, as a Gen Xer and a child of the 80s I love this! This is everything I grew up with! But Christ, did we really need Hal Needham's Megaforce? lol 😂
Very nice
The Renaissance had its iconic paintings. So to the 80s had legendary movies that will be viewed for all time.
we wouldn't be here, if it wasn't for this inspiration
Brilliant some classics there.
Very exciting trailer!...and a worthy project. The 80's brought forth such a wealth of science fiction movies that have impacted our psyches.
It's past time to do a complete retrospective.
Now that I think about it, the creators of this documentary should interview a fellow named Sam Longoria. He did a huge amount of special effects work on many of the 80's Sci-fi movies...(and he's a cool guy I've worked with once).
The Terminator
The Abyss
Spaceballs
2010
Ghostbusters
Big Trouble in Little China
in love that clips! collected them!
Dang this looks epic! I didn't realize most of these movies were out in HD.
Absolute love
Aesthetically, yes, the future is the 80s.
Man. This is so great!!
Miami Supercops theme is incredibly 80s, would be cool to see some new retro numbers in that style
That elevator scene in Ghostbusters never fail to make me laugh. Genius bit of comedy writing and acting.
brings back so much memories of my childhood
Hopefully, a future documentary will be a salute to animated movies from the 80’s. Maybe call it “In Search for Animation”. It can include stuff by Don Bluth, Hasbro, Disney, and even Japanese anime movies.
Our parents had the greatest decade of all time they just didn’t know it.
ShadowKrueger Are you twelve?
If you mean Generation X, trust me, we knew we lived in the greatest decade ever. We just foolishly believed that the 90s and 2000s would get even better, but alas, that didn't happen. Things leveled off in the 90s and went downhill in the 2000s.
Daemon Silver I’m 23 thank you very much lol
@@ShadowKrueger You're 23? Wow, your Generation X parents had you in their late 20s back in the 1990s. Damn, time moves fast. Feels like yesterday that the Baby Boomers were saying the same thing to us. lol
44excalibur actually my dad is going to be 60 in December and my moms 53 they met in the mid 80’s and married in 89 they lived through the 3 decades with all the history
Legendary 😉 👌
просто ТОП
Best music selection!!!
Finallllly, been looking forward to this!
This is the one I've been waiting for.
I’m in love with this trailer!
I can't wait for my physical copy to arrive in the mail. And I have an idea of what they could do next.
They could do a documentary about 80s high school movies such as Breakfast Club, Ferris Beullur's Day Off, Weird Science, etc. It could be called 'In Search of Students' or 'In Search of Lessons' or something like that.
Contains movies I forgot about. Did I see Heart Beeps? Ice Pirates? Wow... Time Bandits! Flash Gordon! Heavy Metal! So many great movies. The 80s was the decade.
great list of movies to watch during lockdown
In the 1980's we had so much freedom, yet we dreamed of living with 21st century technology. In the 21st century we have so much technology, yet we dream of living in the freedom of the 1980's.
I love's 80's
I already donated the in search of darkness doc is amazing they have done a great job can't wait to see this one 😊
I like these movies👏😎 80's 4ever!)
Amazing trailer, filled with wonderful memories and great music.
Great trailer kid. That was one in a million!
List of all movies, would be nice :)
1:01 - Й тут музичка від Dance with the dead... Nice!

Looking so forward to this!
Mark my words, golden age will back.
