Your hypothesis about why we love small things with big eyes is spot on, from what I've heard/read, and I think this applies to fluffy things too. Many animals are fluffier when they are in their childhood stages. Birds and cats immediately come to mind. Cheetahs have a mane they lose when they age. Also yes, humans like and empathize more often with things that look more like them, which is why we tend to find mammalians the most cute on average before say, arthropods, reptiles, and fish. That isn't to say we can't find those things cute, but we are more likely on average to find things with recognizable limbs, similar eyes, hair, and general body plan easier to empathize with. This can be used to explain things scientifically, but is also the driving force behind things like creature design in movies. Aliens and monsters are generally scarier the more removed they are from us. The less we can understand something by simply looking at it, the more unnerving it is. I love the style of your videos, whether they are gross, gruesome, and/or cute. Teachers and professors should take notes on your delivery/energy. It could definitely help make learning more entertaining.
The energy and personality you present on camera is intoxicating I spent all of yesterday binging your channel and I am already back watching random videos.
I once stumbled upon a documentary about what makes an animal cute. I remember the roundness as a factor. It's nice to see that confirmed here. Sadly the documentary was French and I was not, so I didn't stick around too much.
Love your videos and the tour was great. Your new appartment looks like a nice place to live, though I will say the perspective was jarring for me since I'm 6'4" so (especially when showing you reach in the cupboard) my mind was just entirely taken over by "so that's how the world looks from that height" lol
While "cuteness" might be subjective, often things/animals being gross or scary is as well so I think it's all good. Great video as always, you're amazing!
Your channel is literally everything I needed. Science/history books aimed at adults are so information dense and rarely are they written for enjoyment and I struggle to follow everything (thanks ADHD), but someone talking at me in a fun hat and band t shirts? Yeah I can definitely learn that way
so i'm currently studying for my finals (actually, drop the "stu" part. just dying atm) and i am happy to announce that you and your channel successfully got me through the whole evolution unit. also, the new apartment looks amazing!

I think one thing I find really cute is partaking in forest creature and fairytale activities, such as oldfield mice going eepy inside of flowers, crows eating the ticks and bugs off of deer, or beavers dragging logs 5x their size back to their crib. Those are the vibes I need to embrace this summer.

Great work, Tina! I personally await to see Deextinction efforts fulfilled. If they aren’t, then I and many like me will always have the memories of those long gone species.
My definition of something cute, is ‘something in a smaller size/version, of which it’s size caused it to lose it’s function’ for animals big eyes and fluffyness helps but objects can also be cute.
Congrats on the new place, and thank you for introducing me to my new favorite prehistoric creature! Anurognathus is, indeed, the cutest extinct animal I've never heard of.

Convergent evolution is insane. Nightjars, whippoorwills, potoos, bats, and anurognathids all did the same thing for hunting insects at nighttime.
You're not short, you are compact, fun size. Keep up the awesome unique style of imparting knowledge of an awesome subject format. Thanks for the insomniac's video therapy, no frills, great humor and good for you!!!!
it makes me so happy that smart people can make content like this and it be popular and financially lucrative
there is so much trash on the internet but your stuff is absolute gold, incredibly informative and entertaining as well
please keep doing what you are doing! you are an influencer that influences people with knowledge! that's amazing!
7:22 "Dude, some pterosaurs were just fuckin' flying Picasso paintings"
ABSOLUTE GOLD 😂😂😂
6:14 As of 2023, T-Rexs actually walk on what was once considered their hands, and they all had long flowing golden blonde hair
You and your videos, young lady, are simply contagious!
I'm 100% addicted to your style and attitude.
So much respect and admiration from across the pond in the UK.
I wish you all the best for the future!
I know a lot of people DO know about this extinct animal, but I just don't think Ankylosaurus gets enough love for how cute it is! It's a big dumb rocky cow dog! What's not to love?
One of my favorite animals that i think is cute, its, and get this, *snakes*
I MEAN HAVE YOU SEEN A HOGNOSE SNAKE THEY ARE SO CUTE AAA 😭
I didn’t even realise I subbed around 45k or something. It hasn’t been that long, this channel’s gonna be in the millions soon. You are doing such an amazing job. I learn a lot from your channel.
And you had me check to see if I was subbed and I wasn't. That is now fixed. Thank you kind internet stranger! lol
ahhh thank you so much :’)
13:15 This drawing left such a hard impression on me, it ain't the best thing ever, but it just feels like love, like, whoever drew it was made really happy by Lindsay's videos and wanted to share this happiness back (a lil bit of non romantic love asdasd).
I love the style of your videos, whether they are gross, gruesome, and/or cute. Teachers and professors should take notes on your delivery/energy. It could definitely help make learning more entertaining.
Worth acknowledging the editor too, friend.
Your new appartment looks like a nice place to live, though I will say the perspective was jarring for me since I'm 6'4" so (especially when showing you reach in the cupboard) my mind was just entirely taken over by "so that's how the world looks from that height" lol
hahaha you’re a whole foot taller than me! i would imagine your perspective is what i experience on the second step of my step ladder. seems very nice
I'll take being short over height anyday
@@LindsayNikole opinion on frogs ???
@@makinbarzenji3223i mean she does own a shirt that says “Damn I Love Frogs”
While "cuteness" might be subjective, often things/animals being gross or scary is as well so I think it's all good. Great video as always, you're amazing!
You had me at “some pterosaurs were like a flying Picasso painting”!
The worst thing: This video can be turned into a series without ever running out of new entries.
YOOOO!
I love learning bout weird animals. your videos are super entertaining.
the audio also sounds great
hey thank you!! i’m trying an AI tool that fixes the audio for me and i think it’s working pretty well so far :)
Found this gem of channel via your friend Casual Geographic. Best cross over ever!
Love the rise in educational RUclipsrs and I’m here for it. Keep doing your thing, you’re gonna inspire a whole new generations for biology and zoology.
Now i can get traumatised from 2 different channels

The part where you explain that it’s ‘okay to not be so serious and just have fun sometimes’ sounds like you’re telling yourself that more than anything 😂
Her "THAT WE KNOW OF" gives me life
Finallyyyyyyyy,I've waited for this video for so long!!! Your videos alway cheer me up and you are my big inspiration! Thank you for all the effort you put into your videos!
thank you so much! i’m glad you’re here! :)
I studied elephants for a school project, and now i love those animals! And i wish i had a big dog sized elephant living with me 😔
its crazy to see someone so new yet so talented in youtube, ur personality, ur knowledge, ur comedy. it makes watching ur vids feel so natural. kep up the amazing work, i cant wait to watch more of ur incredible videos
I love the way you do your content. It keeps me focused and I actually retain the information
"Whose to say they didn't have squishable contests in the late Jurassic? We can't prove that they didn't." 🤣 I mean, that's true, and also my favorite thought of the day. I can't stop laughing.😆
11:14 "some scientists don't really fuck with it, others kinda fuck with it- hmm" and if that ain't the best description of the scientific community EVER, especially if it's about something you can neither verify but nor falsify...good god
You have inspired to me to think about going into zoology or conduct my own research on animals. Your videos have helped me though college, mostly of not losing my sanity. 😊
You might find something interesting in this playlist (Paleontology based, so not really Zoology but related):

I cannot express enough how happy your videos make me! It’s the perfect blend of chaos and coziness lol. And there were so many hilarious one-liners in this one! 😂 thanks for teaching in such a fun way!
"Chaos and coziness" is the perfect way to describe this content! It's quickly becoming some of my favorite content on RUclips - passionate, knowledgeable people sharing their passion and knowledge! It's so great to see how fired up they get about their field
All of your videos are so good for so many reasons. ❤❤❤
Love your explanation for the survey of cuteness, your production and video quality and editing are great!
I always wait and when I see that you posted a video I get so happy and excited! you're so cool Lindsay!

Love the content and especially the presentations of it.
I don’t usually like swearing, but I absolutely love your delivery and personality! I only found this channel yesterday, but I love it! You make learning fun and entertaining.
another long-form video!!
about the quetzalcoatlus, i’m pretty sure they used to just… launch themselves upwards and start flapping, which is pretty freaky but i love them for it
Absolutely good
I love her 😂❤❤❤
I feel like I enjoy her content so much because I generally talk to people with this tone and it makes me happy to hear her speak❤
I also love to Learn new things 💯😁
I think one thing I find really cute is partaking in forest creature and fairytale activities, such as oldfield mice going eepy inside of flowers, crows eating the ticks and bugs off of deer, or beavers dragging logs 5x their size back to their crib. Those are the vibes I need to embrace this summer.
Listen, just starte watching your videos and happy that even your current uploads arent different then this and is fun to watch. Dont need to change the formula on something that isnt bad. Love it!
5:00 your and your Editors reaction to the letter Ö is pricless
I really think you've inspired me to become a Paleozoologist. I want to learn so much more about evolution and the species that existed way before us.
4:47 I’ve been planning to make a muppet of this guy. Also, I would nominate Callichimaera perplexed as another adorable option.
Feels nice to take a tiny part in video creation through the survey
Great video as always, and btw apartment looks amazing!
I've just gone and will keep going on a spree of your videos. Love this format. You're growing like crazy because you're doing it right. ❤
I just found your channel yesterday - and so far it is a fantastic way to spend downtime while I'm working. I'm looking forward to catching up on your videos - they're quite interesting and very engaging!
Great work, Tina! I personally await to see Deextinction efforts fulfilled. If they aren’t, then I and many like me will always have the memories of those long gone species.

Too cute for this world ❤😭
Elephants are my all time favorite animals. This legit made me cry a little.
The cutest thing in this video is Lindsey shes freaking adorable
lindsay is the only youtuber i slow down the video speed just to enjoy watching it longer haha :))
Your apartment looks gorgeous, and your snekk is as cute as ever 🐍, and I hope you are feeling much better, much love, stay safe 💜
RIP to the editor once more for these amazing videos of yours

My definition of something cute, is ‘something in a smaller size/version, of which it’s size caused it to lose it’s function’ for animals big eyes and fluffyness helps but objects can also be cute.
This content is pure unadulterated, though very organized, adhd and I love it.
Congrats on the new place, and thank you for introducing me to my new favorite prehistoric creature! Anurognathus is, indeed, the cutest extinct animal I've never heard of.
Thank you for this pallete cleanser. I know I'm gonna enjoy this ❤
Edit: I did enjoy this video! I'm glad you had a good move and are settling in nicely. I wish I wasn't broke. Otherwise, I would become one of your telescope fish buddies 😂
Glad to see the hat back! Hooray!

I've been going through a really rough breakup and your content has really, really been helping when I'm really in the dumps. thanks for the awesome vids 🖤
Yeah, you're probably one of my top 5 favorite creators.
Even the...not cute stuff is informative and entertaining! Plus, your energy is amazing!
I love silly little creatures
the little goobers!!❤️❤️
I feel very edutained right now. You have that cool older sibling/cousin vibe that makes me just want to give you my attention and the way in which you explain would be really suitable for young learners.
What I'm saying is, if we had more teachers like you, kids might actually learn stuff. I also like the choice of topic, because it leaves a lot of room for adding interesting general information, supported by the hook of getting to see cute beans
Loved the adorable creatures, also your apartment looks amazing 🤍
I absolutely love the style of your place! Plants everywhere and string lights are definitely my thing too, and your bathroom is inspiring me on what to do in the future!
