It's the best time to sit down learning some truly fundamental knowledge about investing in a bear market. I started watching every episode in this list, some of them several times. Have to say it's not easy for someone like me who don't have basic knowledge in corporate finance but I've decided to spent a few months to learn from here. I fell lucky to have these excellent teachers,/professors/and investors. Thanks for all you've done!
This is a really great initiative. Thank you guys very much for taking the time and effort to share your knowledge. I'm going to watch part 2 right now. Thanks again.
I have been investing in stocks since 2012 and about 3 years ago signed up for Fasthraphs and subscribed to this channel. Fast graphs and Fun graphs are now critical tools in my stock selection process. Looking forward to this Value Academy
Please arrange some live youtube session once there are 5 or 6 lectures/classes or major milestones are achieved so people can interact with the team and ask any specific questions maybe a weekend live session. I know you guys are making it sound easy but it was easy Chuck won't be known as Mr Valuation today ;) he is known in the community for a reason. Will see how the journey goes super excited about this series thanks a ton!
Nathan cited some academic papers that show the penalty for missing out on the bounce up. Could you reference those articles? Some talk of the syllabus, any thoughts of a workbook that might test whether the concepts have stuck?
This sounds like a great learning experience! Will the curriculum cover basic option strategies like using covered calls to generate income and cash secured puts to gain a position in a company? Many experts recommend these strategies but options scare me, lol.
Options should scare you if you are not experienced in their use. I have accumulated a decent portfolio of stocks without ever using options or margin. This allows me to sleep well at night. But you do you. Options will allow you to make a lot more money and also to lose a lot more money.
Kathy: The complete Value - You Academy course and curriculum will be offered free of charge. However, we will be extensively utilizing FAST Graphs throughout. Although you will not be required to, if you choose to subscribe to FAST Graphs it does require a standard premium subscription. Regards, Chuck
Summery .....Question 1.... Answer: Depends.... Question 2.... Answer: Depends Question 3..... Answer: Depends.... Understand that this is very complicated stuff, but literally every question had a counter. There's a reason ppl invest in the broader market. 90%+ of people can't beat it.
Mr MaxxuM: With all due respect I submit that you are oversimplifying things. Not every investor is simply trying to beat the market. In fact, there are times like today when the market is dangerously overvalued, and it would be too risky to try and beat it. There are many reasons for investing besides maximum performance. Safety or risk aversion is a major one and a current and growing income stream is another. For clarity, people don’t invest in bonds to beat the market, they do it to meet specific objectives with a prudent level of predictability and safety. With the above said, the curriculum is about “beating the market” instead the curriculum is about financial literacy to include things like reading and analyzing financial statements and much more. I hope you tune in , the Value -You Academy curriculum will be offered free of charge. Regards, Chuck
@@FASTgraphs Touché, save for one thing. ETFs redistribution accounts for more diligence than the average investor and had I invested in VOO, VTI or IVV for the last ten years I’d be fine even in an overvalued market. I understand your points however and concede that you provide valid points. Not everyone has the same strategy or goals. Perhaps I don’t want to hear the 101 stuff and want to skip to the jr level courses. Thank you for the information and effort you give.

I only hope the academy will be easy to understand for older brains.
I think you will find it as easy as it could be. Mostly common sense. Regards, Chuck
