Hi Juan, my 11 year old great granddaughter and I love your channel. We've decided to get a yarn ball winder for each of us to organize my yarn stash. Thanks so much 👍👍
You won't regret it. I had yarn in bins until I got some snap together shelves and I wound up most of my yarn and finally have some of my yarn on display so I know what I have and I can see the beautiful colors
I love watching you cake up the yarn! I think with colored yarns like these you can tell the personality of the yarn a lot more and they're all so pretty. Just found your channel yesterday and I'm already hooked haha
Hi Juan! I love the vintage yarns. I wish they’d bring back some of the old color ways. It’s a trip down memory lane for many of them. I remember my grandmother leading me through Woolworth to the yarn section and picking up the yarn she needed for whatever project she was on and maybe a special one for me some new booties😂. Thanks for the memories. ❤
Hey Good Evening Everyone!! How many of Us are Wippin And Windin With Juan 😂 So Fun! Im actually working on a Red Teapot shawl with a cotton mill end from Herrschners. I definitely need a cake winder to simplify My life! Stay Safe Out There Yarny Family ❤
❤❤❤ Hi Juan. That purple with. Blue dark one... I made my grandmother (I'm 75) back in the 1970s a blanket with double strand of that color. It was so rough (red heart) she could never use it. My 56 year old son now has it, and like you he doesn't mind the rough texture. Seeing it brought back memories for me. No other red heart was ever that rough, wonder why. Started crochet and knit in 1958..old really old 😅😅😅😅😊
Hey! I stumbled upon your channel while I was working on a WIP and I needed some background noise. I’ve been binging all your videos while I work on my project ❤ thanks for sharing your content and all the cool yarns you have! I especially enjoy the caking videos, keep them coming! All your inspirations you’re sharing help me to feel motivated to finish my project which has been a little difficult to complete. (I’m working on a mix of crochet and cross stitching with the yarn into a pattern into my project. it’s really tedious but so satisfying at the same time when it comes together!!) Anyway, thanks again for sharing your content with us! I especially enjoy these caking videos 🧶
Yaay ! More yarn winding. Love it ! I got my yarn. Ty so much !!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤. You did not come to play ! 😂🤣. You were determined to put them two skeins into a cake 🤣😂❤️❤️❤️❤️. Love it !!!
I just love the yarn caking most of all. Listening to you, stories of your family and life, then and now. You are a very interesting, well-rounded person. Thanks, Juan! 💕💕💕
Another fabulously fun cake winding! I learned a lot too! I would love to see you crochet a vintage recipe adding your own spin and vibe. It would definitely be all the things! Love the sharing of your family's stories 💜😃💜 Thank you, Juan!
YES! I’m WIP’n it with Wine tonight as you wind😂😍You have inspired me to cake up some scraps(that’s on the agenda for tomorrow)😊 Love your videos, Juan! You spoil us❤
Yarn massage, so that is the answer. I have everything caked but I will remember this. I am going out tomorrow to hunt for more yarn to cake. So much fun. 🧶😋
Love watching you make cakes ! I’m making a bucket hat for my 83 year old sister while I watch you. Your stories about your family are so sweet , thanks for sharing !
I love all types of yarns even vintage yarns. I don't understand why companies discontinue yarns that we all love. Thanks for sharing your stories with us😊
I wish they would bring back the yarns from the 60’s and 70’s when I learned from my grandmother. We used Red Heart and whatever Herschner’s had at the time ❤️
Woohoo 🎉🎉🎉 you inspired me to cake my scraps and half used yarns. I had been looking at my tote for months saying 'I've got to deal with that" then I'd move on to my crochet 😂. So... yesterday I caked everything up. 24 good sized ones and a few small. IT FEELS SO GOOD. I look at them and think "man I've got to use those". 😊 Thanks Juan!!!
As I am sorting and packing my stash, I have found a lot of scarps. Guess I will have to make some cakes after the rest is done.LOL about two months from now!😂😂😂😂😂
I'm sitting on my couch watching you and working on my Scrappy Happy blanket! I just added a new color and I'm just letting the hook work the stitches. This, one, will probably be my favorite blanket until I make something new 😊 If it's okay, I'll post progress pictures on your Facebook page 👍
Juan my yarn friend, That lovely blue/purple yarn you are drooling over .....you said you wanted to make something special with it, but not a hat. May I make a few suggestions? Table runner and place mats for your dinning or kitchen table, perhaps a sham for a throw pillow or two on your couch, something to place on top of your dresser in your room, ditty bags, or a set of coasters for your coffee mugs or even a drawstring bag to hold that sweater that you are very attached to or a blanket that Ma Wilma or your Nan made for you. These are just some ideas. I have been working on a wip while listening to you chat about some of your memories that have been triggered by smells from some of the yarn. Thank you for sharing your world. See you in the next one.
Juan, you are full of tips and tricks my darling! 😂 with the fabric softener and the kneading of the skein to loosen it up so that the center pulls flows easily! Thanks for All The Things!
I love that you are working with vintage yarns. The colors are so fascinating. I wish they all came with dates, wouldn't that be cool. I love to listen to you and your conversations, so interesting to talk yarn with you.
Love working on my Genesis project while watching your vintage caking. Your pattern is finally in my head so I don’t have to keep rewinding 😂😂love that for me😂I can still remember the smell of the old Woolworths & Kresges
Love all the cakes. I had no idea about rolling the yarn and stretching it to add a little give! Great tip. I was working with dish clothes and towels while watching you today. Love those vintage yarns. Thank you for all you do!😄
Ohh Juan all those wonderful vintage labels. It'd be neat to have a shadow box collage with them and some other vintage things. I'd have fun doing it. But you make me feel old with vintage and talking things of my era.😊
Got SO EXCITED when I saw another vintage cake video up. Almost as excited as I'd be for more scrap cakes! These vintage colors are to die for, wish I could buy them in stores! I am impressed with that winder. I got a LAMXD for 40 because it can do the bigger skeins, but maybe I would have picked this one instead if I'd known. Oh well! As long as it works and we can enjoy all our yarns :D
Yes, like when you do this. Why because you can see the colors of the yarn better. Juan you remind me of my oldest son. Neat, intense, motivated and he is very nice to me. Sometimes... Teehee. But his favorite color is green 💚. That purple was all the things.
Hi Juan! 👋😊 Purples, sage/olive greens, and earth tones are my favorite colors. Just finished a mug rug in the color sage while watching your video. Keep the cake winding videos coming! ❤
Watching you cake up yarn is so relaxing. I love your "story hour". And making the slip know before and putting the wrapper inside before taking off is fabulous -i never thought to do it that way. But will now☺️. Thanks for the tips!👏👏❤️❤️
When I cake my yarn, I start with a center pull. That way I don't have to stop to unwrap from the outside. I also run it through my fingers while winding. 🥰
Your channel is so much fun! I love the vintage yarn colors. I learned to crochet around 8 years old, I remember Wintuck, Coats and Clark, and Red Heart being the yarn brands I used the most. Zayers, Woolworth and Ames had their own brands ,too. During a good sale, one could get a skein of yarn for approx. 1.00.There were very pretty colors, but nothing like the colors and fibers we have today. Thank you for letting me have 1 foot in the past, and one in the present.
No one is more surprised than I am at how I enjoy watching you cake up yarn, I mean who knew? What is a mystery to me is how when I leave yarn and/or thread as well in a box or a bag for a while and no one touches it or even looks at it, it some how gets it's self into big huge messes and knots. Is it alive? Do I have ghosts? I mean how????
Just used one of my caked up yarns for the first time and used the loop at the start like you did and YES!!!! So easy pulled it out and just whipped it onto my hook and away I went. Excellent🎉🎉🎉
Hari OM I sit in my van in a howling gale and lashing rain and hunker down with hottie-bottle and a HUGE hank of yarn to wind (by hand... I needs me a winder) and listen in to Juan as he shares his thoughts and memories around vintage yarn. Bliss. YAM xx
I recently discovered your channel. From one yarn addict to another I absolutely get you and your addiction 😮. I truly enjoy your videos. You are so genuine and entertaining and I can tell you have a good ❤! Keep up the great work. I look forward to seeing what you do next!! Ps. My grandkids always ask if I have any yarn to wind so they can use my ball winder😂 take care
I think your Grandma and Aunt, would love for you to make things with the yarn that was theirs. Then you would be able to enjoy the colours and have the use of it 🙂
Hi Juan , I love watching you wind up yarn as I am crocheting on my blabket this morning , your voice is so calm and soothing , I needed this after the chaos of getting kids ready for school who are tired lol ❤❤
I crochet strips of fabric together. It makes fantastic rugs and I’ve had people tell me that they will last up to 40 years. I use cotton fabric and you can wash and dry them over and over. That vintage purple would be gorgeous worked with pure white
I enjoy the scrap cakes as well as the vintage cakes. I’ve been crocheting the longest, but knit the most often (my grandson calls it needling). I would like to see your knitting now and again. I’m sure it is as beautiful as your crochet. I like the tip of a slip knot for knit picks ball winder. I have a knit pick winder and love it so thanks for the slip knot tip. 💕in ohio
Love watching these caking sessions and love seeing all the vintage yarns - it's too bad they don't bring some of those back. They need your wheel so they could spin to see what the next colorway from the days of ole to bring back. 😂
I love watching these videos! I will definitely be adding this impressive yarn winder to my collection very soon! My 5 year old grandson enjoys watching these too because of all the colors!

Thought for Red Heart/Yarnspirations... bring back several vintage colorways in a line called Vintage.
I would love to see tropical fruits come back.
Every time I watch one of your videos I learn how to do something new. Who knew squeezing the yarn would help loosen it 🤯
Hi Juan! I really enjoy these caking sessions. The family stories are my favorite. Thanks for sharing all the things. 🥰🧶

Red Heart needs to bring back the Rambling Rose. I Love it!😊
Woolworth’s was the place to go! I loved going there with my mom and aunt!
I just love the yarn caking most of all. Listening to you, stories of your family and life, then and now. You are a very interesting, well-rounded person. Thanks, Juan! 💕💕💕

I find caked yarn to be the most appealing to me 😊
Juan, you are full of tips and tricks my darling! 😂 with the fabric softener and the kneading of the skein to loosen it up so that the center pulls flows easily! Thanks for All The Things!
Love those vibrant colors!
Love yarn winding and chat. I got lots done on my blanket!
Great video Juan! I had to chuckle when you said yarn barf from the middle of the skein!
Hi Juan! Yarn caking and the WIPs are some of my favorite videos! It’s really good motivation for me to grab some scraps and make some cakes!
Time with you brings me peace.
Juan, this is GREAT!
I love that you are working with vintage yarns. The colors are so fascinating. I wish they all came with dates, wouldn't that be cool. I love to listen to you and your conversations, so interesting to talk yarn with you.
Guess what I'm doing over my vacation? Caking yarn! I can't wait! Love these videos and just listening to your stories, Juan ♥
Hi Juan, working on Crystal's CAL second installment. I enjoyed that. 😊🍁
You cracked me up with your winding the Puzzle yarn story. 🤣🤣 You are so fun. 🎉
This is a unique and very informative and interesting way to promote your creativity
All the yarn is so pretty! But i think my favorite is the earthy! Love all the babble!
Fun like always ❤
Love working on my Genesis project while watching your vintage caking. Your pattern is finally in my head so I don’t have to keep rewinding 😂😂love that for me😂I can still remember the smell of the old Woolworths & Kresges
I decided on YarnArt for BOD's shawl. Its a rose and deep rose ombre, 2 wt. It will be here tomorrow. ❤
Hi Juan, enjoy watching you make the cakes and your WIPn It videos!
Also remember buying Red Heart yarn at the K-Mart where I was a cashier back in the early 70's☺️
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and tips.
I love the Rambling Rose and Purple/Blue yarn.
I live those vintage yarns. I think I remember a couple, but I am a vintage Granny.
Love all the cakes. I had no idea about rolling the yarn and stretching it to add a little give! Great tip. I was working with dish clothes and towels while watching you today. Love those vintage yarns. Thank you for all you do!😄
Rambling rose is a very beautiful color! I'd buy it if it were around now.❤
That RED Heart Earthy would look great in Moss stitch!
Ohh Juan all those wonderful vintage labels. It'd be neat to have a shadow box collage with them and some other vintage things. I'd have fun doing it. But you make me feel old with vintage and talking things of my era.😊
Love your videos I watch them out of order sometimes. But it’s still great! And sometimes I just watch them without doing any whips.Lol❤❤❤
Got SO EXCITED when I saw another vintage cake video up. Almost as excited as I'd be for more scrap cakes! These vintage colors are to die for, wish I could buy them in stores!

I love the purple yarn

This is one of my favorite things to watch you do. Cake up yarn while you talk.
So calming and enjoyable🥰🥰🥰
Btw. The Papaya Pooling is a current color way. I have some I bought recently.
Hi, pooling is relatively new within the last maybe 5 years, so that papaya pooling would be a newer yarn. Love this.
Thank you for another night of yarn winding and conversation! My wip is coming right along.😊
Just used one of my caked up yarns for the first time and used the loop at the start like you did and YES!!!! So easy pulled it out and just whipped it onto my hook and away I went. Excellent🎉🎉🎉

Good morning Juan, it’s a shame they don’t make colors like they used to, I like the Red Heart Butterfly.
The vintage yarns seem more vibrant

I have a yarn winder that I got off of Amazon and I can make massive yarn cakes. I can do a pound of love and still have room for it
