- Gabriel Batistuta was a very dangerous player. He was mobile, strong, good in the air, technical, and an elite finisher. In this game vs AC Milan in the Italian Supercup, Batigol managed to break apart a defense that consisted of Costacurta, Baresi, and Maldini. Not many can say they have done that in their career.

Beautiful. From when my football memories start, he was on the verge of retiring. But I had a glimpse of his awesome play, and remember the immense respect commentators had for him.
Look at Young Claudio Ranieri!!
I always forget Tabarez used to be a Milan manager. Thanks for reminding me
que grande el Bati, tantas alegrías nos dió en la selección.
en la fiore imparable, tremendo delantero, cómo se lo extraña!!
Baresi was at his end of career. Batistuta at his peak.
Batistuta is a legend, what a player he was. But to be fair on Baresi, that touch was complete fluke, no way Baresi could have anticipated that 😅 and then at 36 he didn't have the speed to recover, vs Batigol who was hella quick in his prime...2 legends of the game. Man I miss 90's football.
Yes baresi was old but batistuta's touch wasn't fluke
@@thewolverine7516 everything about Batistuta's body language says that it was a heavy touch. His reaction time was amazing though, but controlling the ball behind Baresi wasn't intention, you could see he was trying to bring the ball down directly in front of himself. But football is all about moments like this, and his reaction was great. Not disrespecting him at all. But as a footballer myself, it is quite obvious that it was a heavy touch.
@@aldobonaso3481 yes, specially cause Batistuta wasnt that type of players, he always was more kin to to be efficient and agressive, like you said his reaction was quick but was lucky that baresi was leaning to the other side expecting the obvious and that imperfect control surprised him
Ese sí era un atacante argentino, nunca lo ví encogerse de hombros ni cuando ya no le respondían las piernas de sus lesiones
1 year later Baresi retired, he was at the end of his career.
Grande Batigol! 💪
It was never easy to stop Batigol, not even for Franco Baresi.
best stirker i've ever seen
Bati was beast and Baresi there were very old
Baresi was an old man here I don't know what else people expected
I remember watching this match live, despite I'm a Juve fan.
What years for the Serie A!
Batigol a force of the nature....I have not seen any other striker with his willing.
When he went on the camera after the 2nd gol, he said "Ti amo, ti amo!" .... It was to his wife, because the previous days there were rumours about some cheating from him...I don't know if true or not
Batistuta era tanta roba!
a 37 year old Baresi who was going to play his last season you didnt mention that
No more players like him. In fact no more players anywhere as it was in seria A 90s.
Batistuta no one of this generation has 1%of this natural talent
Ikr, even the tier 2 players of that generation were better than Messi, Ronaldo and Suarez combined
@@ojasdighe991 exactly bro
@@ojasdighe991 yeah , nostalgia merchant
@@ojasdighe991 better than messi, 😂😆
How deluded can you guys be?
27 years old young man vs 36 years old Legend, well obviously old man couldn't stop him!
Baresi era sul viale del tramonto, la sua ultima stagione, ormai era logoro
Typical Batigol 👏🏼
That was a lucky mistake from Batistuta. His touch was wrong, Baresi turned in the direction where Batistuta wanted to put the ball, but the ball wasn't there. Having said that, Batigol was a monstrous striker, he was up there with Van Basten.
