Great couple of videos on this subject. Question - if you have photos for GMB that are 6km radius of your office, will this help you rank in GMB in the markets 6km away?
Thank you for your support - on your question, its not as simple as that, location does play a part, but there are a huge number of other factors too. Google looks at natural activity as a big signal. This is something I probably would say makes me stand out in my field as I seriously believe in as much natural optimisation as possible. you should find i have many other videos that will help you along the way on this particular subject- just ask if you cant find it
@@ZanetDesign I am brand new to Geotagging. PPC was always my jam but we naturally did well on organic with me not putting much effort into it. This is an area I need to focus on more (along with LSA). I am using geoimgr for tagging.
@@GrandRapidsRealEstate616 ah the reason i ask is if you are after local traffic using Google Business / Google Maps, in rcent months Google now ignored the Geotagging. So i would aim at these areas here ruclips.net/video/zFgnWmN_vz4/видео.html instead
thank you for this video. Question. Will this help for thumbnails of youtube videos? also, I assume it isn't wise to pull down photos on GMB, tag and put them back up? Should this be a going-forward type of project?
I'm not sure geotagging helps youtube thumbs as they get stripped and regenerated. you can log into YT studio Select the video that you want to geo-tag. Click on the Advanced Settings tab underneath the video and add it there. also a hashtag can be used in the description eg #london
@@ZanetDesign It's one business, two different locations. Like a McDonald's in one location and another McDonald's in another location. Curious to know how you'd solve this... I'll be doing something like restaurants.applebees.com/en-us/ Thanks!
Then if you have different addresses, you should be able to list each one separately. Just keep them consistent with Google's guidelines and you should be fine, try and make them use different information eg unique phone and address
Hi Kylie - since this video was made Geotags seem to be less important, so I think just from now on is fine - but definitely get customers to add photos - this is a big factor in rank at the moment!
Very useful information thanks. I have a question, if my business is a service that visits people's homes and I as a business take a picture and put this location, I will kind of tell Google that I had a client at this location. My question is, will this work or do customers have to take the picture when they leave an assessment? Thanks in advance.
Hi Rad, since the video was made the geo tagging isn't given any credit any more by Google. It still makes sense to have the geotags as in the future it may change. (Google change things all the time) I would definitely recommend getting customers to take photos and upload them on reviews, the fact its from their Google account is a big positive signal in Google's current algorithm. Does that answer the question?
@@ZanetDesign Interesting and I believe you. Doesn't seem like others know this. Someone wants to charge me $500 a month to geotag and add photos. Just learned how to do this with your videos (thank you) & now it doesn't really matter, haha.

Ultimately, it's what's best for your customers that will give you the best return, as Google wants to reward authentic, trustworthy businesses. Quick question - how important is it that I have a physical address? I operate a real estate investment company from home and I use a local PO Box as my business address

First time for me to know GEO Tagging, quite interested. I am now learning SEO. I am a company in China and would like to export my products from China to all over the world. GEO tagging means attach location information to the photos. My question is: as I am in China. If I want to export to US, shall I attach US address to the photos? Or the best is to attach my Chinese company address to the photos? Will it influence the SEO? Thanks for your kind help to reply in advance.
Thanks for your great question. I guess you have to answer that with a question. What makes sense for your customers? If they receive a picture of a product from China they would have association your business located in China. Also if you want to grow your business for local sales geo tagging makes sense. It's not so useful beyond local SEO though.
@@ZanetDesign Thanks for your quick reply. The simpliest idea for me is: If I want to sell my products to US, for example. I can GEO tag my products photos using a US address.
