One of your best vids yet! Yes, the UA is the Softube ported to UAD format, which is obviously even more expensive. Also have this on my wishlist. Sounds great on vocals but it's also equally great on bass guitar!
First heard a CL-1B in 2000. Very impressive. The transparency was very impressive as well. Perfect recording compressor for relatively clean vocals IMHO. But oh boy were those knobs easy to move. At first I thought the studios unit was busted. :)
@@StudioLife101You're telling me. One of my favorite features of a Neve 8128 console are its humongous faders that push around like your reaching through honey. And here's a $3000 compressor that sounds amazing but feels a little like a toddler toy. I even tried to blow to make the knobs move, but they weren't that easy :) .
Im a big fan of this compressor. Softube sells the channel with the 2 dif pultec style EQ;s and the multiband compressor all in 1 deal I believe plus this get more for your buck.
Considering it says "Denmark" on the box, I think we can safely assume that is the Scandinavian country it comes from 🤪😅 It turns out they are just down the road from where I live. So I learned something today from watching one of your videos. Not about the plugin...that is way too expensive for what you get...but about Lydkraft.
vintage mk1 is supposedly the same soft knee as the hardware as the mk2 has a hard knee which really makes it unusable to get that ratio right for vocals

Hum.. DDMF'sMagic Death Eye Stereo plugin is one of the best, if not the best software compressor plugin available, and is based on a 12k hardware that you simply can't buy because the guy who builds it takes its time and don't even take custom orders. The plugin is often at sales at $99, and you called it shit.. I can't understand your point of view, especially when youtube is full of comparisons showing that this emulation is so far from the HW..

Definitely one of your best vids yet......keep up the great content.
I don't do vocals without this plugin (UA version). It brings instantaneous clarity and tonal quality to each track. Well worth the price.

Got this one in my wishlist. Definitely not paying full price though, got plenty of great compressor plugins.
I use the tube tech emulation built inside studio one and its great! and native. Regards

Truer words have never been spoken. Softube really didn't manage to capture the character of the original unit with this one I'm afraid

If youre really looking for a good pop/hiphop vocal compressor its honestly worth the price when its on sale. I use it almost every session.
Is this what the Platinum compressor in logic is based on? That's a clean comp...I never use it but just thinking of free versions
That's "just" a digital compressor, not modelled on anything from the real world...
What he said.... Not modelled on anything...💁♂️
Hmmm normally you find high priced plugins a bit too much to stomach - no endorsements I hope 😉

It's sad that this compressor doesn't sound like the actual hardware like their other plugins.
It doesn't..?
No it really doesnt. Knee is far too hard and its extremely pumpy and grabby - damn shame @@StudioLife101
