PERFECT SETTINGS I USED THEM ON MY 75 INCH QN90B Neo looks perfect thank you
Thanks so much for following my tips! Happy to hear they work so well on your TV!
I had my TV set up all wrong. I wasn't even happy with it. I only owned my new 2022 QLED for a week I was wondering whether to return it lol. I have it set up, so I am so much more happy. Thanks for the vid!
My samsung QN90 looks blury when characters are in movement, any tip to fix it?
@chalatenangoesa3047 did you ever find a solution? 😢 I'm dealing with this rn
What did you do exactly?
I did the same and i m so happy without tv in my world
Today I will receive my first 55 Samsung TV, I am watching your videos and learning some useful tips and will see how to apply them on real time to get most of the TV’s capabilities. Thanks for the good content.
Thanks for watching and hope you’ll be happy with the new TV.
I used the calibration software with my iPhone and had great results!
Great, glad to hear that!
What software? iOS? Or Samsung phone? I have apple
My friend you are expert but we are learning from you please take it easy Thanks 🙏🏾
Thank you, I will!
Excellent Job!! I just bought a 75” Samsung QN90B, I followed your video and adjusted all my settings to what you were using and my new TV looks amazing 🤩 🎉. Thank you for this great video 👍🏻
Awesome, glad to hear you are so happy with the picture! Very nice screen size you have - my target is to have a 65-inch TV in my living room soon :)
Thank you for taking the time to provide this detailed guidance. It was very useful in helping me calibrate my new Samsung QN90B.📺👍
This is of no use, as every tv is different as well as the enviorment. The stock samsung calibration is probably even better.
@@orwellianyoutube8978 Actually it's very useful if you have some brain 🧠 and don't struggle with simple tasks like some here 🤣. We already know that all TV's are different "smarty"🤡
I'm living in Holland and your recommended picture settings helped me a lot. Well done, mate. Thanks for this clearly explanation.
I just bought a QE55Q70BATXXU. The menu options seem the same so I gave your settings a try and am pretty pleased.
This helped so much I have qn900b and the picture always seemed grainy on every movie and suffered from blooming really bad I was regretting not getting the lg3 oled now with your settings no blooming no grainy effects truly looks amazing why don’t they come set like this from the box why do people like the bright grainy blooming images over the warm tones on these settings thank you
I agree with everything except for color tone. I like my whites to pop, no matter what the director intended, so I like standard. I have the same exact TV by the way. I love it. I compared the new neo qleds to the oleds and it looks the same if not better, and unless it's a little white dot in the middle of the screen, you can't notice any light bleed at all. We have extremely similar picture quality to displays that are worth twice as much. Thats a winner in my book. Plus, no chance of burn in. That was the main deciding factor for me. I can't stand burn in.
I keep messing with the motion settings. Some advice me to turn it off, others tell me to set both settings to 3. I primarily watch sports, sadly in sdr most of the time 😅
Can somebody please help me?
Bought your settings for HDR and SDR, because you always save me! They work just fine for my QN85C(2023) but I wonder if there will be videos or settings for the 2023 models?
Thanks for your support! I already have a video out on Samsung 2023 OLED settings, but I’ll be making a video about 2023 UHD models. But there is nothing different compared to 2022 so settings you’ve applied are already optimal.
@@TVguyDarko Thank you!
Awesome!
How can we simulate/upscale SDR content to HDR on Samsung TVs?
Hvala Darko za podesavanja. Kupio sam (teske volje) 85QN95B pa javljam kako izgleda slika sa tvojim podesavanjima. Pozdrav
Hello, thanks for this content. What about the intelligent mode settings please ?
Why do I only have two settings which is “optimized” and “eye comfort mode”
You have Intelligent Mode turned on, you need to turn this off

I cant believe i knew more than the samsung tech that came today for dimming i figured it out on my own😂
Hello darko, great settings as always! I have recently purchased Hisense U8H. Samsung was a little out of my budget. I have aquestion regarding gamma. You have Bt.1886 as gamma in this video and i believe that is the standard for Rec.709. My question is there anything wrong in using the 2.2 Gamma for movies? I wish there was a detailed explanation on this topic and comparisons. I do feel when i changed between 2.2 and bt.1886 on my tv i feel bt.1886 seems a little cloudy it does open up the shadows so you can see more.Thank you!!!
LG use bt.2020 and it is awesome - i wish samsung qn90c use it 🎉
Thanks for settings. Darko what value of backlight brightness matches with 200 nits?
Great video. I have a qn900b would all the settings apply or do you have different settings for the 8k models? Thanks....Phil
Hi Darko, can you help me with the best settings to watch sports in? I have a Samsung Q60CB 75 inch. Thank you
Just bought qe50q90b.
Do factory update, movie mode automatically adjust those calibration settings except motion interpolation.
I've had my 85" Q70c a few days now, an upgrade from a really solid Samsung 60" LED which has been great for 9 years now (!). I'm used to having to mess with the settings but I'm really frustrated with the Q70C. I already had everything set as you suggested and it looks so muddy and washed out. I was using my Series X for 4k player but assumed the issue was that so bought a Sony 4K player. It's better but still washed out. I wondered if it was because of what I was watching (Godfather 1/2 in 4k, couple of Jack Ryan 90s 4ks) but changing it to movie mode from filmmaker made a huge change. I can see Red and Green properly now but it still doesn't seem to pop. I watched a couple of other films in 4k but whilst there was more colour the read seemed jarring. I remember spending about 3 days getting the picture right on the old one, I should be used to it by now but it's so frustrating.
Same for me
I use my S20 Ultra for the smart calibration and the value were much similar of what you suggested, TV Samsung QN90B 50 inch

Love this review. Just purchased a 2022 Samsung Q70B and made some adjustments as per your video. Is there any reason why you’ve set judder reduction to 0? Wouldn’t setting it to 10 eliminate any possible judder? (I’m no expert at all so I’m only asking :) ) also my Samsung only
Comes with optimised and eyecomfort for picture modes? Also I found for the colour space ‘native’ was a lot better and provided deeper colours?
Cost ?
@@udayreddy9619 well I know someone that works for Samsung so I got the Q70B 65” for £800. Retails around £1200.
The thing it's seeing Tv and playing games it's totally different and most people having the judder set to 10 will end up in some heavy dizziness. If you are not affect by that then do what your eyes 👁️ are most comfortable with. Another important thing is that even if you have the judder and motion turn to 0 as long you have image clarity activated your TV will look way better in absolutely everything from apps to games, trust me,never turn off picture clarity entirely. I bought a q70b Samsung QLED past month and it works absolutely amazing with my seriesX but it's very important to calibrate it well not instantly bashing the TV 📺 for blooming, ghosting, dimming and all that,I have nothing of that in my TV just by calibrated it well. Cheers from Spain.
@ADISTOD3MUS hello mate I have the same TV cam you share your picture settings? And for gaming
@@ninos_13dimi3 Xbox seriesX resolución set to 1080 at 60hz it's the best you can do for your TV but don't forget to check ✔️ the box on video modes for the 4k and the HDR. In that way you will see everything trough a 1080 port even the games and apps in 4k and HDR and everything will look better since you are not forcing your seriesX or Playstation 5 to render a 4k dashboard on your TV by selecting the display resolution to 4k ( that's not how you actually activate 4k in your TV and console, it's checking the 4k box in video modes like I said before) . You must always have to game in game mode since it's the best for the very low input lag and you can always activate Game motion plus but let the Blurr reduction and judder always to 0. I play on warm 2 and sometimes depending on the game warm 1 in game mode. For the Standard picture for watching RUclips videos and Norma TV go with Standard mode and activate your picture clarity settings with Motion Blur to 10 and judder only to max 4 no higher so you don't have Opera effect which it's annoying and very artificial looking. Warm 2 or warm 1 in standard mode it's beautiful since it's bright enough but without adding to much artifacts and mess the colors. Don't forget to watch your HDMI black level in the external devices in your TV and if you have your Samsung TV connected to a console the HDMI black level should always be normal in your TV ( not high or low) and the Color depth in your seriesX or Play 5 (not sure if it's called "color depth in the Play 5 since I don't have one) always on standard and not RGB. After that I recommend to play with the contrast enhancer in Standard mode and see what you like most,I always put my contrast enhancer to low in Standard SDR videos like RUclips or TV channels since it gets rid of the foggy looking and give crisp image with beautiful darks without crushing those darks. In game mode and HDR i always deactivate the contrast enhancer since it's looking more natural and beautiful to me,try it too and putt it Off in game mode when playing HDR games. Be careful with Netflix since it's HDR too but there I recommend watching movies in Standard mode with warm 1 and the contrast enhancer how you like it (I put it OFF since I like a more natural looking) and bump up the brightness too your room environment. Don't forget to deactivate all the options you have on your TV about Inteligent mode and Energy Saving since it's crucial for a great experience. I know this must be a little bit overwhelming for you and in the end you have to chose what looks best for you not for me but with my tips you can start to have an idea from were to start and be aware about important things like HDMI black level in your TV to match your console color space (black level denomination for Xbox seriesX and not sure if it's called the same in the Play 5). Good luck and cheer's from Spain.✌️
How do adjust sound. I have to turn volume up to 35 to hear it. With my other Samsung it was at 21.
Anybodu have experience with auto calibration with a phone with these tv's?
Hi hello thank you ? can you advice me a calibration equipment , for example for monitor pc i have used spyderX .
Can you advice me a hardware calibration so for a tv Samsung , lg ,Sony thank you very much !.

What are the best settings for movies?
I have had this 55-in TV for a couple of weeks. The the self calibration mode 2 point made some small adjustments in color which I think were beneficial. The 20 point calibration I felt threw the color off to a little more brown tinge. That calibration also adjusted the custom color space. I preferred auto and native over the custom space created.
I like the TV but my biggest complaint especially during the day is a hazing effect depending upon the video being shown. Certain TV shows, certain commercials etc create this hazy effect across the screen. Other videos are crisp and high contrast. I know this is related to the source of the video but I do not notice this haziness anywhere near as much on some other LED TVs. This haziness could be a deal breaker for me. Any thoughts?
Most experts say movie mode is the most accurate and I have utilized that. On TV movies and other movies I agree it is best. But for watching the news and other standard TV content such as game shows or talk shows I think standard warm1 or warm2 is best.
Thanks for the review and I look forward to your comments.
Hi there. I tried to do the professional smart calibration but for some reason it gets interrupted after a few minutes. I did it with an Iphone 12. Is there anything specific i have to do before using this feature?
@@Biscoito26 no. It should just run to the end. After two or three tries to get a good calibration it stopped working for me. Now I just get a big black square on the screen and I can't start it.
Work with your picture clarity settings and put Blur Reduction to 10 and judder only to 4 so you can get rid off the opera effect. For my TV it did wonders and I got rid of all the banding in RUclips videos or the haziness In my screen. Most "experts calibrators" say to turn off the picture clarity settings and it's stupid since letting the Judder to 4 no uper, you will get an amazing motion without soap opera effect. I always watch my TV in standard mode on warm 2 or 1 depending on what I watch ( for example RUclips videos I always watch them in warm 2 but Netflix it's on warm 1 since it's having HDR and HDR content and games will always look better in warm 1 from my experience). Filmmaker mode or movie mode it's absolutely stupid and dull,I could never enjoy my TV watching stuff on those modes, period.
@@ronraskindI did all I could do based on recommendations. When I get flicker-free in sports, it flickers on other channels like news/movies/shows. When I adjust for the latter, I get flickering on sports . I don’t know what else to do
@@Muhayyo666 I still have my TV. Still have the issues with color and may have a calibrator come in. The motion issues you talk about I only see in certain times. Normally if I turn the motion features off, everything looks great. But if there are certain programs where I notice abnormal motion, then I first try the auto setting which helps sometimes, and if not then I try the custom with settings of 10 and 3. That usually works well for those. I have not found any one setting that works perfectly for everything because the sources are different.
Nice Video! Little question, ive got a QN90B, plugged my PC through a Marrantz 7012 in eARC of TV. Hi
I just can’t find the good settings for my tv, it is still blurry, red aren’t red but more fushia or so.. I tried many things, any help appreciated
Is this done on the 1304 or 1403 firmware? Because mine is on 1403. I only cool and standard in color tone.
Even though my set up is not an accurate picture, l choose Dynamic instead of Filmmaker Mode Warm 2, it looks to dark to me when l watch cable or movies and l want a brighter picture. Everything else l kept default except putting sharpness to 0 and BT.1886 to 3. I did use Warm 2 and the accurate features for gaming though. Warm 2 looks ok for gaming to me but not television or movies.
Is that expected not to have filmmaker mode available when streaming over Airplay?
Actually, ignore:) it was intelligent mode turned on! If I switch that off, I get all the modes back. Thought, I like the picture more with the intelligent mode on:)
When you going to show 2018 calibrated specs for free?? It’s years now I need Samsung q9fn SDR and HDR calibrated settings
For q60b best setting for gaming, contrast disabile, tone color warm 2?
Yes.
I found that having 2.2 instead of the BT.1886 on gamma option for my 2022 85” QLED was a far better picture.
Sure, if that works better for you, use it without any doubt. I also prefer 2.2 for content watching in my environment.
That depends in what ambient you watch your TV 📺. If it's gonna be a darker dimmed room the 2.2 it's too washed out.
Do you recommend copying your settings from sdr movie mode to sdr game mode to get the best image quality?
Yes.
Would these settings apply to the Samsung odyssey neo g7 43inch monitor/tv? It was also released by samsung in 2022 and is QLED
Monitors usually have completely different menu system and available options, but you can give it a go.
How to adjust pic size?
Is it normal that in warm 2 the screen looks yellow?
So what are the recommended settings for a 43inch in a bedroom with good light control where its mainly streamed shows and gaming.
What are the exact settings and numbers?
Gamma and white balance for example were just skipped over.
Hey, for bedroom I would follow the settings from this video, keeping Gamma at BT.1886 and adjusting Brightness to the level you find OK for the environment. You can also tweak Gamma slider if needed.
White balance was skipped because it is highly individual and already factory adjustment if precise enough for quite accurate viewing. If you have compatible smartphone, you can calibrate your unit through Smart Calibration option.
@@TVguyDarko with HDR on on my PS5 the brightness defaults to 50 but this appears way to bright. Does reducing the brightness in expert settings comprimise the picture quality?

I got a qn90b I noticed its getting quite hot where the hdmi etc ports are. Anyone else noticed it? The thing is with the panel being so thin I can't see how that heat can be dissipated effectively. Any advice would be appreciated thanks
Are the brightness 22 contrast 35 settings valid for SDR and HDR content as well? Or just SDR?
No
Thank you sir
Welcome!
What’s difference between movie and filmmaker mode? Is there a sports mode for football?
Movie and FMM are practically the same - both are the most accurate for watching all types of content, including sport such as football. For sports you will probably need to raise backlight and adjust gamma to get a brighter image.
@@TVguyDarko thank you! What are your thoughts on Intelligent Mode and Adaptive Picture? Should I turn on Filmmaker Mode with Intelligent Mode on as well? Thanks

Hi, this settings is for SDR and HDR content?
I’m showing menus for SDR signal in this video. For more details and HDR tips, see links to my store in the description.
local dimming is just a contrast enhancer
Not really - contrast enhancer adjusts gamma of the image which local dimming is a true hardware capability of the display to adjust LED intensity in different areas of the image to achieve higher contrast.
What does the shadow detail setting effect? Gamma?
Yes, gamma mainly in the lower signal levels (darker parts of the image)
@@TVguyDarko Interesting. How useful is it compared to adjusting gamma globally?
I bought a samsung neo QLED qn90b of 65 inches today. Problem is when I went to settings to change the quality, some settings weren't accessible : would you be kind to explain me why ?
Hey, that's a nice purchase! Some settings are not available for certain types of signal, so you do not need to worry about them. Just adjust what is available for the given signal and enjoy great picture.
Disable intelligent mode
Hey, thanks for the video. these settings works for Samsung Neo QLED QN700B?
Hey, thanks for watching! Yes, same recommendations apply.
I bought the 55QN90A (VA panel) version. There are extremely high light bursts (diffusion) on the edges, whether in subtitles or text in dark places. Is there a method I can solve this problem? If I make these settings, will my problem be solved a little bit?
Hi - I suppose this is mainly happening with HDR signals? Definitely apply tips from this video and focus on local dimming controls, as well as adjusting overall brightness so that these busts aren't as visible as they currently are.
@@TVguyDarko even when you're changing the channel. When the channel number is white and the other sides are black, you can see a burst of light. But the most important part for me is that when I watch movies, the bursts in the subtitles are really disturbing.
Is it applicable for 2021 qled tv's?
Yes, no major difference between those lineups. BTW, I have a dedicated video for 2021 models: ruclips.net/video/MMm1HF3k4vU/видео.html

Hi - which picture modes do you have? Is the TV in Home mode?
@@TVguyDarko It is in Home mode. I took some research and it seems some picture quality modes are not available depending on input resolution. But my digibox's resolution 1080p50 or 1080p24 both do not support it.
Hi Windhaze, just disable the intelligent mode then check in your picture mode you will get all options that you are looking
@@ajeet503 Thank you, that did the trick and needed option is available.
So I experimented with the Darko recommendation settings on my two Samsung tvs 55” and 43” and the displays looked horrible. The pictures came out with heavy brown tint and very pallid weak colors. I don’t know why these settings are included in the menus because they render the tv display unwatchable. TVs today today should all have one setting, standard and the companies should work on improved quality from that starting point. The main benefit of the Darko recommendations is to shut off the tv and do something else.
Hey James, thanks for sharing your experience with my recommendations. Could you please let me know which picture preset have you been using before applying my settings and how was Color temperature value set in that particular preset?
Does anyone know how to alter the colour on app menus? The colour is way too high but moving the colour slider does nothing
What do you mean by App menu? There is the home menu which is full screen and there apps are listed.
@@TVguyDarko youtube home where channels are selected and the tv home menu where apps are selected
My QN90B isn’t showing and Movie picture mode it’s only showing Entertainment and Graphic.
Hello - this is because you have a PC connected (or a PC device type is detected by the TV). See if you can get movie mode by changing input name to HDMI X or some other option. If not, use Graphic mode since it is more accurate than Entertain.
