This song is the ultimate plea for acceptance and love. I heard this song over two weeks ago and it still makes me cry a bit...The power of ABBA music is infinite.
It's also a statement of accepting what one has now become by transformation over time versus what they were before, and remaining loving and hopeful for what is to come still!
She took a couple of voice lessons years back when she came out of seclusion and uses her stomach muscles more.. And recorded new solo music. She said she was rusty.
I've been trying to figure out why this song makes us cry, just bawl our eyes out. Even hardened rapper reactors find themselves overcome and can't figure it out. Are there sonic clues in Agnetha's delivery that hint at true emotion, at redemption, at joy, at concern over possible rejection, at seeing with new eyes? Does the guys' arrangement and orchestration complement the delivery in a way that takes the message directly to our heart so we are living her experience? I don't know.
"They're not so young anymore..." They're all in their 70s... yes. You read that right. They're in their 70s, still schooling us on how to create good music.
Thank you for sharing. It's indeed very emotional, the lyrics, the come back, the vocals together... it makes our world a better world, a better place and you contribute to that. A warm thank you from the heart, kind regards from Brussels (Belgium)
THE 2 OF SEPTEMBER I DANCED, LAUGHED AND CRIED HAPPY TEARS TO THIS MONSTER MASTERPIECE OF A SONG. ABBA'S BACK STRONGER THAN EVER. NO ONE CAN SHUT ABBA DOWN🥳🥳🥳🥳
after hearing ABBA's new music in 40 years was so emotional for me and i cried like a baby. it was like i had reunited with an old friend or relative i havent seen in 4 decades. i am a super fan and have been since 1974, i never thought this day would come. they came back at the perfect time just when the world needs their music the most. cant wait for the new album in november. viva ABBA forever!!!

Don't hold back, Onyin! It's ok... I'm a 49 year old man whose mother loved this SUPERGROUP and she passed away when I was young. You can say in a big way that this group has woven itself into my childhood heart, then and now-- EVERY TIME I hear an ABBA song, it somehow magically connects me memorably to my mother in a VERY BIG WAY! So don't feel bad if they bring tears to your eyes-- they do mine!
I have listened to this song an infinite number of times and it just gets better and better. Love it, love it, love it!! Fantastic musicianship from Benny and Bjorn, Frida's mezza soprano's voice is very prolific in the chorus, just beautiful and Agnetha's soprano voice, what more can one say? Together, they are just sublime, two angelic sounds that were just made to compliment each other.
We all cried - even my son. And I still do every time I listen to Faith especially. Now all my kids are fans. I've been for many years, met the guys and collect vinyl. Never thought this would happen!! And I almost didn't dare to listen to the new songs... But they are so amazing. So, I had to get tickets to their concert. Thanks for your video 🇸🇪
The brilliance of these lyrics is that people in so many situations can identify with them. Anybody who has been through a life change or transformation and is asking people they knew before to see and accept who they are now. It could be people who have changed their lives by emigrating to another country, coming out, being trans, body or appearance changes, anything like that. "I was scared then and didn't know who I was, but now I am strong." Even just aging--"you haven't seen me in 10/20/30 years and here is who I am now." It is really a song of power and liberation and acceptance. It is fun to watch reaction videos across RUclips and see how many people cry because I think this song has such a universal message.
Bin jetzt 70 Jahre und mit ABBA meine Jugendzeit erlebt.Danke das ich das noch erleben darf.❤😢😢I'm 70 years old now and experienced my youth with ABBA. Thank you for letting me experience that
This is the most perfect love song a music group could ever write and perform for their fans! Especially after 40 years when our love for them never waned. I am certain the world is embracing ABBA all over again.
The song that is making aging metalheads such as myself, cry, the world over. These lyrics hit really hard. It's very much about the relationship between ABBA and their fans, as well as the member's relationships with each other. Also, seems to be from the view of their ABBAtars. It's relatable for any of us growing older though. It's moving because it's about not being ready to throw in the towel. The 'You asked me not to leave, Well here I am again, and I love you still....' line is so emotional, because I think it's really addressed to the fans. Wonderful reaction by the way.
It is so nice to see how the rebirth of ABBA across all generations makes for sparkling eyes and tears of joy. I have to warn you: if you struggled with tears on "Don't Shut Me Down" ... on "I Still Have Faith In You" the tears will flow. (I definitely felt that way) But those kinds of tears are beautiful.
🧡 ABBA ! EVERYONE BACK TO THE DANCE FLOOR ! You can cry if you want to. Lord knows I have. They are all happy tears. After 40 years ABBA is back. And back with two PLATINUM hits. Deejays are already remixing this into long-play singles. They know what's to come. "DON'T SHUT ME DOWN" opened on the U.S. charts at #11. As good as this is, what must the rest of the new album be like? Genius ! Thank you, Onyin, not only for a great reaction, but as a member of the generation that helped propel ABBA to global stardom, thank you for your generation keeping the magic and the dream alive. For the love of music, and ABBA - Peace.
Lovely Reaction. I'm a 67 year old London Guy and, for me, this is really about the return of ABBA after nearly 40 years............NOW AND THEN COMBINED :)
As well as a story about love life ( ABBA always tell a story ) The Lyrics are pertaining to an Avatar, as in the new stage show...... " I'm Fired up. I'm hot. Don't shut me down, I am not the same this time around etc etc..... Lyrics by Bjorn, as usual. he is genius.
Thank you for another great and beautiful first reaction"❤ ABBA is building their own arena in London for the new format of show, I never heard any other hand do that.
Another wonderful reaction to a beautiful song, my daughter! Again, as I've said before, you never have to worry about showing emotion because you have a pure heart and that is just an expression of your heart. I love your reaction here. Please continue. Here's to your next one! 🙏🙂💜
Hey, there was in interview with Agnetha Fältskog on radio today, where she said she had been watching reaction videos of their new songs. She said she found it difficult to grasp how people from all around the world was so moved by their new music. So perhaps she has watch your video!
As an original Abba fan I appreciate young people like you getting it!! They are unlike any other and the love they generate is such a treat to witness. This was a beautiful review. And your watch is my dream piece ❤️
I have heard both songs now and watched your beautiful, emotional reaction to them... It feels like they continue making their music exactly where they stopped in the early 80s. It sounds so mucgh the same like in the old days, when they were on the peak of their carreer. And it sound GREAT ! And your emotions are totally understandable. Here is to your next one ! Best wishes from the foodist Gerry
They aren't back together as couples, but they are back together as ABBA for the album and the creation of the ABBAtar concerts. The music is so beautiful, the arrangement so ABBA, and the lyrics so telling of their journey, their message to the fans, but also from anyone in the world that has gone through growth and expansion as human beings to those in their lives that aren't seeing them as well they are now, but are stuck in the idea of who they once thought they were. This moves me deeper into my heart and soul and who I truly am with every listen! ABBA was my first love for music as I was only 2 when they first began their ABBA journey and my parents used to play their songs. This is the music that taught me how to love beautiful harmonies and complex arrangements, which is part of the foundation for why I love Home Free. (Btw, you should react to their latest release, Undivided. It's for a message for the world, too). Before I discovered Home Free 7 years ago I had almost stopped listening to music because I didn't feel anything when hearing it. And then Home Free came along and I began to open up again. I had just started to actually feel something through other artist's music again when these new ABBA songs dropped and it was like opening a vault. Not only did I reconnect with their music, but I've been on trail of rediscovering the beauty of artists I once enjoyed listening to while also discovering new artists. I'll mainly stick to Home Free, Austin Brown (did you react to any of his solo music?), and ABBA. OH, and crying means you are allowing your emotions to move through you instead of getting stuck. Don't hold it back! Thank you, beautiful soul, a for your reaction. 🥰🙏
after 40 years.....all 4 members 75 plus in age........a masterpiece......listen to BUMBLEBBEE and ODE TO FREEDOM or to JUST A NOTION......you will never be disappointed
In this song Agnetha (Ang-neta)the blond, is the lead singer with Anni-Frid (Frida)darkhaired, coming in now and then. The boys Björn (Bjoern) guitar and Benny piano and keyboards joins in also. Björn writes most of the lyrics and Benny most of the music , but the girls contribute in the studio with ideas about songparts and arrangements. Björn is oldest born 1945 and Frida later same year. Benny was born 1946 and in my age. Agneta was born 1950. Björn was born in Gothenburg but grew up in Västervik. Frida was born in northern Norway but grew up in Sweden. Benny was born in Stockholm. Agnetha was born in Jönköping. As I'm Swedish born and raised I've seen and listened to these guys since the 1960-ies. Björn was then in THe Hootenanny Singers and Benny in The Hep Stars. Frida started as a 14-year old girl singing in a band mostly jazz in the beginning. Agnetha was in a danceband before her solo productions in which she wrote both music and lyrics. As Björn told when they produced this latest album 'VOYAGE' it was like they just had left the studio in 1982. The girls had it and sounded as before. Their eyes met in the studio and they felt that it was as 40 years ago. Fantastic!! 6
There’s also a clever 3rd interpretation of the song if you look at why the choice of language is very computer related…words such as ‘fire up’, ‘reload’ and ‘shut down’. It’s referring to their forthcoming concerts where they’ll be appearing as digital forms of themselves. That’s my interpretation anyway.
Don't worry about crying, I haven't stopped since they released the new music

This song is the ultimate plea for acceptance and love. I heard this song over two weeks ago and it still makes me cry a bit...The power of ABBA music is infinite.
I was released 2nd of september though, 11 days ago.
It's also a statement of accepting what one has now become by transformation over time versus what they were before, and remaining loving and hopeful for what is to come still!
I think we all got emotional with ABBA's come back, it was just that we all needed, with all this covid shit... ABBA love u 4ever!

I was a absolute mess hearing this. So good!
It's ok to cry, I haven't stopped crying, since they released their new songs, we are many who feel this way, ok?
Agnetha is the youngest with 71
She took a couple of voice lessons years back when she came out of seclusion and uses her stomach muscles more.. And recorded new solo music. She said she was rusty.
First voice is Frida, another after first 🎺 is Agnetha, and then they are singing together. Agnetha is 71, Frida is 75.
