Wonderful Diana Rigg, when I was a student around 1989, I had lunch sat opposite her in 'Seeds' wholefood cafe on the street where I lived in Edinburgh. I didn't want to be an irritating fan so didn't let on that I recognised her (I've slightly regretted that decision since but at the time I thought that she'd appreciate being left in peace), but what a thrill, just the two of us at a table together- when I got home I burst out with excitement to my flatmate, "I just had lunch with DIANA RIGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". She was the first and only real 'actress crush' I ever had (the Avengers of course) and I thought it fitting that she was the only woman James Bond ever married. Reading of her death today has made me newly aware of the level of her presence in my imagination through most of my life. Rest in peace dear Diana Rigg.

This is such sad news to hear of Diana Rigg's passing - did she ever quit smoking? Loved her on The Avengers, and, loved The Avengers theme song - one of the best in the history of television. Emma Peel was everything a woman can be: smart, sexy, confident, stylish, witty. She was a brilliant actress playing to perfection each and every role she was given. RIP Diana, you were the best.
Loved Dame Diana Rigg in "The Avengers". Sorry to hear that she was ushered into eternity. May the grace of God comfort and sustain the family and friends she left behind.
Like so many here I grew up with Diana Rigg playing Emma Peel in the Avengers. She was perhaps my first crush even at such a young age.I still watch the Avengers nowadays and love the earlier Black and White episodes the most as the beauty of Diana Rigg, I find, seems to shine through in black and White the most. She, like her actress daughter Rachel Sterling, was ridiculously beautiful and the upper class accent accentuated her stunning looks and acting ability. The Avengers was not just of its time but encapsulated the 60s decade with its fashions and in some senses its innocence. God Bless her and I thank you for the rich tapestry of work including of course Game of Thrones which you gifted us all. RIP Diana Rigg.
