What a fantastic woman, from the beginning of her career to the end. Smart, funny, and one of the true icons of 60's pop culture.
She epitomized class and elegance while being hysterically funny at the same time. So few have that ability.
Spot on!
Oh yes, even more so now.
RIP Dame Diana. Not only a great actress. but an actress who could laugh at herself. She had a delightful personality.
Hear hear. She gives great interview, and Parkinson is one of the best. I am so glad that she got such a great role, in Olenna Tyrell, to bookend a fantastic career as an actor and Goddess.

Oh my god I'd forgotten what a wonderful personality and attractive human she was. Sublime.
Diana is one of those rare women who is very beautiful but even more beautiful when you listen to her.
Agreed: My first ever school boy crush
GLORIOUS!
@@joliecolie I don't think that's misogynistic. please explain.
The good thing about her is that she was really nothing like Emma Peel., except in her wit.
nice display of misogyny, jerk
!965, I'm nine years old. Both my parents always worked nights on Avengers night. Me, telly on, cosy in front of a coal fire, watched every episode. Life changing! I quickly understood there was more to life than any adult had ever told me about. I fell in love with, and still adore immensely, Diana Rigg. As people used to say at the time, she was fab. Diana was so much more than 'fab'. She was gloriously magnificent, in every way. As in this interview.
In 1967, I was watching also 'The Prisoner', created by and starring Patrick McGoohan. My young imagination was fired up twice a week!
How lucky can one get in life?
Take care!
^^^^ I commented before watching the final interview in the video. Hence, I refute that Diana was 'magnificently glorious'. She was even more 'fab' than that. I cannot find words to express the joy that flooded my senses as I watched the final part of the video. There can never be anything better in life than having been loved by Diana Rigg.
The Avengers was my absolute Fav show.. never missed an episode.. I now have all the episodes on tape so I can watch them anytime I want. Mrs. Peel was so cool! She was pretty, Sexy funny and most of all she knew how to handle herself..
Best James Bond girl ever! 8:54 8:55 9:39
I wish this woman a perfect peace. She brought a lot of joy to a lot of people, including me.
Svelte and elegant yet humorous and down to earth.Sadly missed
I loved her back in the mid sixties and I still love her in 2020
swingmanic Feeling is mutual
Sadly she passed away September 10th at age 82
She is one of the things you never stop loving, like the earth, the moon, or the universe.
I feel the same!!!I will always love her!Always and forever!!She is the right One for me!!I hope we can be happy together in Life after death!😍😍😍😍😍👩🏻🦰♥️♥️♥️♥️💋😔😢😭😭💔💔💔
It's quite all right, really. She's having a rest. We'll be going on soon. There's no hurry, you see. We have all the time in the world. Farewell Diana Rigg.
Dude you made me cry.
@@free_gold4467 We are all feeling sad
@Alan Collins She was a treasure to us all
We’ll remember her spirit.
Beautiful words. What a perfect choice!
She is just fabulous in every way, always has been, always will be. We need her more now than ever.
Calm down, Captain Hyperbole.
@@mattm8441He's right, fortunately we have hours of her work here to view, but her theatre roles are gone, Medea was THRILLING, they gave her the Tony so NO "hyperbole".
I am so sad she has passed away. One of England’s greatest daughters. When I was a little boy Emma Peel was my first crush. After that I followed her career. She wasn’t just a sexy women. She was brilliant. Intelligent, and a very powerful actress. Only Bond girl who could act. I love how so candid she is. England, and the world is sadder without her. Rest in Peace Diana.
Michael O'Neale Lovely words.
Sounds like you had a god pull ,,,,grin ,,,
She was my first “actress” crush as well.
@serendipidus1 T.V. show "The Avengers " with actor Patrick Macnee. John Steed & Emma Peel. Loved this show. Took place in England. It's on RUclips.
Yes 2020 has been one shit year !!!
She was sooo attracctive, by her looks, facial expressions, moves and even more when she was talking.
Diana Rigg is Absolutely delightful! She is lovely! I really admire her.
But why does he have to throw his 'Classicism chip' at her ?
borgduck today it would be her white privilege... fashions change but bs continues
You know I never knew she was originally from Yorkshire !! When she broke into the Yorkshire accent that was magic !! Her personality was beautiful too. Looks are everything girls but a pretty girl with an equally pretty personality and heart is better than a pretty girl with no personality and an ugly heart
@@adriancarlos9155She also used it years later on Dr. Who.
Often when you see actors outside their roles there is a disappointment (maybe unfairly) in that they don't appear to live up to the character they play.
Diana Rigg is every bit Emma Peel in intelligence, wit, and class.
Yes. But she hates the name.
Absolutely! 😍
That’s dumb for people to be disappointed
Yes, yes, yes.
@@randywhite3947 it's human nature if you like the character you'll want to like the actor but sometimes that's far from true lol but in this case she's great
She died today. I loved her portrayal of Olenna Tyrell. R.I.P.
I was in my teens when she was interviewed. It's crystal clear to me how much she and Emma Peel influenced me. RIP, my heroine.
She was my favourite Avenger girl Honor(Cathy) Tara and Purdy were cool but couldn't hold a candle to Emma Peel
RIP Diana. Huge fan. What a wonderful personality. Could listen to you talk all day.
Dear Ms Rigg - You have given me so much joy over the years - I shall always remember you.
The dream girl of every teenage boy in the 1960's. Farewell beautiful Diana.
So true, then she blossomed into those 60's boys respect
RIP Diana Rigg. You will never be forgotten.🥂🥀🌂🇬🇧🥂2020. “Always keep your bowler on in times of stress and watch out for diabolical masterminds”.
So strange she died next in line to Patrick Magnee . The two most popular of series.Though i love Honor Blackman. Looks great. But DIANA YOU SURE BE MISSED BUT WILL LIVE FOR EVER. IN NEXT LIFE.
*She was a voracious reader, and said she had a full life: She loved her profession as an actress, but also did other things besides her work. She liked to travel, and had gone to Bhutan, and many other places - to experience and live life!*
I loved that Diana and her daughter accepted McKenzie Crook's offer to do Detectorists which was superb.
Totally agree.
Don't forget their very different roles on Dr. Who, & Rachael was also great with Toby on Capital.
She has such a beautiful voice! And wonderful diction and accent!

Not to me.
yep that just terrible
+ Rest in Peace Diana Rigg. + Another adventurous life comes to an end.
Vivacious, funny and, as I was only briefly going to dip into this video but ended up watching all of it, fascinating.
RIP, you clever, funny, glorious woman.
And what a sanctimonious old twat Muggeridge was.
I came here because my late father who was also a Yorkshire man had a thing about this lady!
I totally get it now!
... Indeed!~
Your dad knew what was happening.
Rest in peace, Diana Rigg.
(1938-2020)
Dianna is a beautiful lady! I used to watch the Avengers in Argentina many years later when I used to drive a cab in New York city, who is one of my passengers? DIANNA! I couldn't beleve it! She was so pleasant, she said, that was doing a show on Broadway! I told her that she used to speak spanish she smiled, and off course she gave an autograph!
Never seen these before. Wonderful opportunity to get to know her better after so many years. Thank you for this! I love Diana Rigg now more than ever!
Wonderful woman, wonderful actress. A sad day. Rest in peace, Dame Diana. 💜
holy hell shes incredible.. what a woman
RIP
La Divina. Thank you for a lifetime of exquisite memories, ethereal loveliness and transcendent beauty. Well done! God Bless your eternal rest.
What a stunning knockout, even more for her personality. Was one of my first childhood crushes when I was about 8 or 9 when the Avengers was on tv
She is such a lovely woman and a talented actress. Heartbreaking news she died 10-09-2020
How can a person not come away loving Dame Diana for who she was as a person, let alone the great roles she played throughout her career? ✨❤️✨
One of the most lovely people that ever lived.
Isn't it great to know there is people like this lady an absolute gem.
She's just amazing because she's real
Always a little heartbreaking to see such beauty leave this world.
I love her voice.
She is unbelievably beautiful, what a lovely voice.
I must be missing something
@@katekleinsteuber7652 Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Diana Rigg was a very attractive woman to many people and to others maybe not so much.
@@katekleinsteuber7652Obviously.
@@bonnievandergriff8272ONLY Mrs. James Bond.
We've lost both Cathy Gale and Emma Peel in the same year. Curse you 2020!!!
Those unique enunciations of hers are so charming.
RIP- Mrs.Bond. I'll always remember you as Bond's one and only. Many women tried, but nobody did it better----you were simply the best.
Lastly, I'll always remember you as Vincent Price's daughter in the Shakespearean horror film "Theater of Blood".
She actually fixed him up with his last wife, her birthday was coming up & Price didn't know what to get her, Dame Diana said, "You have the perfect gift & it's on your person."
One of the most beautiful bond girls there ever was or ever will be
Dianna Rigg rocks. She was amazing
Thank you Mrs. Peel for the fond memories.
Forever in our minds and hearts, dear Diana. One of the greatest actresses ever!
Mike Parkinson always said that Diana Rigg was the most 'ravishingly attractive' woman he had ever met...his words not mine! She was at her sexiest in the classic comic horror movie Theater of Blood with Vincent Price. There was one hilarious scene where she 'came on' to old Harry Andrews who must have been nearly sixty at the time. Harry Andrews was as gay as a tulip in real life, but he should have got an academy award for pretending to fall for Ms Riggs charms so utterly convincingly.
Lovely comment I feel as ' gay as a tulip ' having read your article.
The cutest Diana Rigg interview I ever seen, She is an amazing woman and fantastic artist
English Rose of the highest order. R.I.P. Diana Rigg, you will be missed. x
Thank you, TaggleElgate, for posting this. Emma Peel (sp?) was one of my guides in life. I'm so happy to see that Diana Rigg was just as savvy and strong as Ms Peel.
What a delightful human being. Thank you.
I find her gorgeous and so does my husband! She's very versatile also.
She is the ultimate classy English rose,I love her.
Diana Rigg, beauty Brains and a mile of class.

she was great also as a young boy i loved her and still do. compared to jeremy clarkson who also came from doncaster and is a disgrace to his county she is a superb lady and we are still very proud of her.
Yeah, I was in love with her too - at age 12 and I'm a Yank even. Now how is this for Emma infatuation - I finally married a young women, late in my years, early in hers , in China to whom I was originally attracted because she reminded me of Mrs. Emma Peel.
I saw her in worst witch as ms hardbroom. was as sassy then as she is now.
The same holds true for American men
Diana rigg is still my no1 female actress. As a Yorkshireman
It makes her even more attractive. 👍👍
One of the great loves of my life. a true class act if ever there was. RIP, Diana.
What an absolutely delightful, lovely lady, I have always admired her.
I enjoyed this tremendously. Thank you for posting.
Well, all I can say is she was the most wonderful person ever! The avengers with Patrick was just amazing. I felt so much when watching those shows filmed in those years, were so very special, a dream actually. For me, nothing comes close.
I'm going to miss you greatly Diana.. Thank you for being 'you' and the memories of a classy lady... Much love and respect.. R.I.P 🧡
Love this interview they're both so honest and kind of humble considering how famous both of them were.
RIP Dame Diana Riggs
Emma Peel was my first female crush that I can remember.
along with thousands of guys in the 60s.
Yup
Her and Marilyn Monroe
Been loving Diana, since the very first time Both Mom & I saw her on The Avengers back in 1967 in USA,. We had been searching 4 a TV show for it was off season, perhaps beginning of summer & accidently we came across The Avengers & immediately fell inlove with BOTH DIANA & PATRICK. ✌👄
A wonderfully entertaining icon of our times. I feel a great loss and yet I never knew her. Thank you for being you.
I was one of the teenage boys that had a crush on Mrs. Emma Peel during the 60's and loved her in HMSS. I was also glad to see her great role in the GOT. RIP Diana.
great 70s interviews.
RIP, to one Britain's finest actress's.
Saw her in Medea in the 90s. Amazing production amazing actor.
I traveled from the west coast to NYC to see her in Medea. I still have the poster from that show on my living room wall. Magnificent. That’s all that can be said.
@@WohelogirlTHRILLING, when the walls came clanging down. Like Rupert playing Wilde, there may have been other actors on stage, but they were 🌟 vehicles, she found so many of them when she returned to the stage, sad they're not recorded.
What a wonderful being she is. RIP.

Not only beautiful, smart, witty, and funny as hell.
Wow my first love as a teenager. As little as 5 years ago I watched some reruns of The Avengers and couldnt believe why I was so smitten with her. Watching these interviews what an amazing personality and beauty and strikingly charming woman. I will remember her forever by these interviews
Thanks she has so much class and is so smart.
She played Bonds wife, amazing beautiful actress.
Gorgeous lady this was, a fine performer, and a delightful self effacing wit.
Sadly missed.
dame diana rigg i have loved you for 54 yrs
Diana's views remain so timeless, refreshing, witty and generous, while Malcolm Muggeridge, so revered by the BBC of old, even then was a relic of a repressive, censorious and quite ridiculous archaic way of thinking.
She was a beautiful witty talented actress Thank you RIP 🙏
I will be 61 in February. When I was 13 Emma was my biggest fantasy girl. RIP Diana, you were pure class. God Bless.
As the saying goes, she put an entire generation into the throes of puberty.
The most beautiful woman in the world. I'll never forget her.
Rest in peace, Mrs Peel
What a lovely funny lady. Nothing I imagined she'd be in interviews.
So classy and charming, and a beautiful woman in every way :-)
I remember seeing this as a kid! great then and great now , thank you!
Delightful, simply delightful...!!
Such a lovely, classy beauty.......We were all in love with Emma Peel...
Her smile ❤
A great actress sorely missed
As a young boy and now a much older man Diana always created a stir within my loins, such a stunning woman.
R.I.P. such a great actress & lady.
DIANA RIGG, a Yorkshire lass. A truly gifted actress, simply beautiful, very well spoken, a lady with a wonderfully mischievous sense of humour, the likes of which, sadly we will never see again. I will always love, miss, and remember you Diana, God bless and look after you. Rest in peace.
She was great. Not many leading ladies today with that kind of sparky quick intelligence. The very speed of her delivery of quality responses was impressive here.
