What a wonderful film. My wife and I are planning our first trip to the finger lakes region in about a month. Your film was such a joy. Thank you for sharing your story, and humor with us. My wife commented that she really hopes that we are still having fun adventures like you and your wife for years to come! ALSO, learned a new phrase . . . I can't wait to get my swerve on! Thank you. Matthew
Matthew Johnson Thanks so much Matthew for your kind words. I think you guys will have a great time in the Finger Lakes, it is really beautiful up there!
John you did a great job of summarizing the great town of Skaneateles. I am so thankful that you out this together, as it shows the great tiwn that I grew up in. I was a graduate of 1984. I would like to see a winter one, a farm, vineyards, art and music. It is one of the nicest places I've ever been. Thank you. And i have shared.
One of my very favorite lakes. Very beautiful. William Seward of Seward's Folly said of the lake, "Gentlemen; Your own Skaneateles was the first lake I ever saw. I have since seen many others in North America, and some elsewhere. Nevertheless, I still think your little lake, with the smiling village of Skaneateles reflected in its blue waters, is about the finest one I ever saw.”
Thanks for visiting our fair town. Loved the video. Please know that the "No Sovereign Nation" folks are really in another part of the Finger Lakes, further west, not in the immediate proximity of Skaneateles. We look forward to welcoming you back soon!
This was an enjoyable 39 minutes of time. Just saw it while searching for something else. Really looks like a peaceful vacation destination. Thanks for the journey.
just now watching this cool video, it's always wild to see others take vacations to our towns around here, especially auburn! the seward house is just something we drive by and took field trips to so i've never truly experienced the greatness and rich history of the house like someone who hasn't been before. i love your sense of humor as well lol
Travelers of the world. Finger Lakes People...in Auburn, Seneca Falls and Skaneateles watch, enjoy and share John Thornton's beautiful Skaneateles, Queen of the Finger Lakes You Tube movie. Nice production John, Well Done! Thank you.
Doug's Fish Fry is good. Also the best Tartar sauce. It is the queen of the finger lakes! The joke I know is the overweight woman was cornered by bears, and her only escape was the water, so she swam, and when she reached skaneateles she said "skinny at last"
As a lover of Skaneateles, this is awesome! If you want to discover historic Skaneatles, visit Kihm Winship at the Creamery. His blog tells all the stories: kihm6.wordpress.com/
Wonderful documentary of our town. But please, come back. You missed many more wonderful sites!

Barbara Cote Thanks so much for the tips Barbara and I toook your advice in a sequel that I just made! ruclips.net/video/AGEqj4pEgW0/видео.html
You only showed the upity part of skaneateles, why didnt you show the heart of the town and what made it what it is today.
Initial dive was 8.9
Progressive isn't always good
Too uppity of a town for most common folks. Nice though.
