I've heard many but many actors telling stories, but fck, Tom is really really a legend....
There's a great story about the Dutch queen Wilhelmina who had a foreign guest who also didn't know the proper etiquette at dinner, who actually did drink from the water bowl for cleaning your fingers. What she did was she famously also took a sip from the bowl to not make him uncomfortable. Now that's class.
I heard the exact same story about Queen Elizabeth only the guest tucked his lap napkin into his collar and she did the same. Maybe we've been taken for a ride...

if you want funny tom hanks then watch bachelor party and most of his early comedies.
His early career was pretty much all comedy. He only transitioned to more serious drama since Apollo 13. Check out the movies 'Big' and 'The Burbs.'
He started out as a comedian in the 70's and then landed Bosom Buddies series with his friend Peter. Then they just kept up the hard work ethic.
