    What is your go to lens for Street & Daily Photography?

    • @user-sd3ik9rt6d
      @user-sd3ik9rt6d 9 месяцев назад +1

      35 or 50mm for every day, 85mm for portraiture and a 24-120 for a walk around zoom.
      28 would be a bit wide for my tastes but each to their own.
      All of those on a full frame, rather than large format.

      28mm. Got the Z 28mm 2.8, Z 26mm 2.8 will be added soon, and once Nikon throws a Z 28mm 1.8 S into the fray I will get that one, too.
      One can never have too many twenty-eights.
      Paired with an 85mm, ideally.

    I found out about this lens yesterday and did not know it would be immediately available. I ordered mine from Adorama (thanks) an hour ago, as they were the only ones that had it in stock. Thank you for your review, and I am glad you were able to be part of the earlier tester! BTW - Thanks to you and other reviewers, I love my X2D - I picked it up used from B&H for $6300 - No tax where I live.

    I was wondering when the next "P" lens would come out. Good to see that the AF performance is better than the 45P. I don't like the AF of the 45P so I hope that they consider making a V successor to the 45mm lenses.

  • @NetvoTV
    @NetvoTV 9 месяцев назад +1

    I hoped they release a 24mm lens because I find it the standard 28mm isn't wide enough and the 26mm is better and the 24mm is even better, now this 22mm is even more better! Fit well in between a 21mm and a 24mm!

  • @winedemonium
    @winedemonium 9 месяцев назад +3

    Nice photos. The ones that don't look cropped 'feel' more like 21mm than 24mm (which makes sense since "28" is closest to 22mm FF - as you said). It's a wonderfully compact lens for the Hasselblad X system, and I'm (happily) surprised that they have extended the "P" range, which had seemed like a one off before venturing down the f/2.5 V path... Still, you and others have commented that with 100mp, you can crop your images - that may be true into the centre, but as we know, a 22mm FOV equivalent carries quite some perspective distortion, so cropping into an edge will look odd. The one I would really love to see H do is a genuine "28", which would be, I guess, a "35"... and a "P" (f/4 and under 300g), not a "V". Now that would be a great walkabout lens. I have the 3.5/30 - optically great, but an earlier, slower implementation, and its 550g. Honestly, the roll out of the lightweight V line has gotten people energised about this system, but the extension of the P line for me is more interesting - it makes the camera that much more walkabout.
    Thanks for your thoughts and review on this Matt.

    Ordered immediately as soon as I heard it was out. Seems a "Deal" as far as XCD lenses go. F4 for a 22mm eqiv seems fine.

    Last fall I bought the 40mm f/2 for my z6 ii for street photography. I love that lens. It's so sharp. It's a good compromise between a 35mm and 50mm. The only other primes I have are the 20mm and the 105mm macro. I have considered getting something in the 24mm to 28mm range.

    Thanks for the review👍 the images in the temple are great with the lights and smoke if the candles.
    I just bought this lens and used it shortly for a first test. It is definitely much faster in focusing than the 45P and the 80 mm f1.9.

    Questions:
    1) If you want to document your life and sometime do some personal work and price wasn't an issue, but don't want to over buy unnecessary gears, would you get X2D with single 28mm F4 lens for photos and Sony Xperia 1 V and iPhone 15 for photos and videos or you will get Sony A7Cii with single 20-70mm F4 plus these phones for both photos and videos?
    2) When you say you prefer 28mm do you mean FF equivalent of 28mm or this Medium Format 28mm which is FF equivalent of 22mm?
    3) What is the formula to calculate the perspective compression lose you get from cropping instead of using actual zoom if there is any and make any sense? Is there situations where you would use crop instead of zoom from the aspect of compression and so on?
    I hoped they release a 24mm lens because I find it the standard 28mm isn't wide enough and the 26mm is better and the 24mm is even better, now this 22mm is even more better! Fit well in between a 21mm and a 24mm! X2D with that 28mm seem more tempting now!

    • @mattgranger

      1 - I would not be considering these options. I enjoy the X2d though.
      2 - Both. I explained my keeper shots are 20-28mm range
      3 - I don't know of a specific formula.

    … Matt: Really appreciating your X2D reviews. Astronomically out of my financial zone… but you never know. My thought is that I am only using pre-AI, 50 year old Sonnar Nikon primes- because they have the most natural renderings of depths. Are they adaptable on an X2D, and if so, could you consider a review?
