    Just have to say I love my 2015 Kia Sedona SX. Never thought I'd drive a minivan, but boy did this car change my mind. I've owned it for just over a year and I'm still very pleased with it. And it makes me happy seeing others so interested in it

    i m single and used to drive a sports car but because i have 2 large dogs , my lifestyle has changed so I just recently bought a 2017 kia Sedona lx model, this vehicle drives like a SUV, it feels tall , commanding , large windshield . my dogs can jump into the back without struggling unlike most SUV that are taller in height, they fit very comfortably in the back , ample amount of space for them to move around ,with the third row seat folded down. My dogs love it . The cabin is very quiet, they have no problem taking naps on long road trips. it drives very smooth ,very roomy, lots of leg room, versatile, practical and multi functional, comfortable and it has enough room for my emergency kits, and my work equipment , i can literally lounge in this mpv for hours, lol...great review btw Mark !!

    In general the hate towards Kia needs to stop. Most of it is outdated. New Consumer Reports had Kia as a brand rated higher than Ford, VW, Honda and almost of the other mainstream brands. And the Sorento took top honors for midsized SUVs. Kia means business.

      +Skiballas the great I agree with your comment. Kia has come a long way from where it used to be. Their cars look very nice and i really like their interior design sense.

    I have a 2016 ,it is by far the quietest ,best handling ,and fastest minivan there is ,i had another one i bought new in 2008 and did 312'000 kms with No problems ,you can stop the kia hate they are far more reliable than north american cars ,its just that most north americans are stuck in a time warp and think that their cars are on par with european cars ,kia has the most advanced and expensive auto plant in the USA ,

    She's a big beast, but I beleive the Sedona has the absolute best interior and driving manners for a minivan. Would choose one of these over an Odyssey or T&C all day long. Not to mention it is the best looking van on the market by far. For the price you pay for SX and SXL models, you can get comparatively equipped SUVs and crossovers, so I really don't see the complaint about the price when the Sedona offers everything you need and more for those who need the capacity. The sliding doors sell me on a Sedona over a 7 seater V6 Sorento if I needed the utility and space.

    This is THE best Kia Sedona review/test drive I have seen here in youtube why? Because of what Everyman Driver said "everyone has their own preferences and just because he things is a certain way it doesn't mean is the right way" etc. Excellent comment and that's how it really is and you have to drive the Sedona to feel it and see for yourself. Consumer Reports gave the 2015 Kia Sedona a bad comment saying that the suspension is not good bla bla bla. Those guys really gave out their very own biased personal opinion but Everyman Driver said it all here in his video.
    I have been driving my new 2020 Kia Sedona EX for nearly a month now and I don't see anything wrong with the way the Sedona rides. I'm really happy with it.
    I also own a super reliable 2007 Toyota Sienna with 170,000 miles on it and both cars are fantastic in their own unique way and I love them both when it comes to the ride/drive quality. The Honda, Toyota and Chrysler Pacifica are also fantastic mini vans but the Sedona did it for me and I LOVE where the gear shifter lever is located, I just LOVE that :-)
    The Kia Sedona is by no means perfect, but like Everyman Driver said "is what works for me".

    I think your mpg tests can be more realistic and closer to advertised mpg if you exclude idling, weather and road conditions. 16 mpg seems right considering review idling, snowy slippery roads and cold weather and fuel.

    To Samuel P below: I don't know if Everyman Driver has owned a Toyota Sienna for a very long time, but I have. I have the 2007 Sienna with 170,000 miles on it. My Sienna has been extremely reliable to me. Everything in my Sienna is still original without failures, A/C, radio, interior lights, electronics, buttons, and engine and transmission and everything is working properly and as it should. Not even a single light bulb has gone bad inside my vehicle. I find all those little details very impressive. Yes by now certain things are starting to go bad and feel old, like my shock absorbers but those are normal wear and tear issues.
    I'm not sure if Everyman Driver will be able to answer your question and most likely he doesn't own neither vehicle, who knows. One of my family members has a 2011 Sienna and the body itself is a piece of junk with much cheaper plastics and construction as my 2007 Sienna, lots of the plastics started breaking and falling apart inside the vehicle and outside like the front bumper. They just don't make them like they used to, and from what I have only heard, is that Toyota and Honda are having issues with their newer vehicles. Take that with a grain of salt.
    I shopped around for many months and have done a LOT of research and I simply chose the Kia Sedona simply because I get more for my money. The Sedona is very well built in a very impressive way. As for long term reliability that I don't know and I can't tell you that it will last as long as my Sienna, but either way, I would not buy a more modern Sienna, Honda and ever worse a Pacifica. I just don't trust American cars with American transmissions. They don't have a very good reputation.
    I have owned the Kia Sedona for almost two months now and I'm really impressed with this vehicle and I know I made the right choice. Kia's warranty is backing it up either way but I just don't see this car failing. Only time will truly tell but so far I have zero regrets. The ride is excellent, comfort is very good, power is excellent and I'm loving the eight speed transmission. This is thing is sooooo smooth and I love and use the manual shifter all the time since I live by the mountains and I don't like using the breaks all the way because they will wear faster so this transmission design is PERFECT for me.
    Again, I don't think Everyman Drive has gotten into an accident with the Sedona, and neither have I, but the Sedona has 5 star safety scores and it is one of the best. From the info I have I think Toyota Sienna is a little below everyone else when it comes to safety crash scores, but I'm sure is not that bad either.
    My Sienna has 266 HP and this Sedona has 276. I never needed or demanded more power than what my Toyota Sienna provides and I sure as heck don't need more than the Kia Sedona. It is plenty and the engine and transmission are strong. Use high quality engine oil that have high quality protection properties and change the transmission fluid every 30K miles and this thing should last you a VERY long time.
    This new generation Kia Sedona came out what five years ago? Have you heard of people complaining about their engines or transmission going bad, or something else that's serious? I personally haven't and I certainly hope it stays that way :-)
    As for features, the Sedona has everything I need and more. Not sure what your requirements are and they might be different than mine.

    The USB port only acts as an input, like UBS with song files. It doesn't charge anything. I only found out after I purchased my car. But its still an awesome car.

    I don't know why all the reviews say this van has the worst fuel economy, we think it's pretty good on gas. We don't drive the highway so our fuel numbers are all city and we are experiencing 12.6L/100km or just over 22 mpg. That's with my wife driving, it suffers a bit when I'm behind the wheel because it's got quite a bit of jam at 276 HP. My current 2010 Ram 1500 quad cab 4x4 5.7L even gets 16.6L/100km or 17 mpg so this van does not burn more fuel than a hemi.

    • @anorveaa
      @anorveaa 4 года назад

      I'm driving the 2020 EX and no matter how soft I drive it I always get 19 city. 22 seems really high but if you do get that then I'm really happy for you. All other minivans and large SUVs get the same thing pretty much. In highway with a little of city mix I'm getting 29MP which is very good. If I drive longer on the highway I'll probably get approx. 31 MPG which is excellent IMHO.

  • @dropdreadd2122
    @dropdreadd2122 8 лет назад

    I would say 16 mpg just for the amount you drive is a fair number especially if you account for the size and weight of the car itself, which is pretty damn heavy.

    The mpg on the screen is only averaged over a short distance of the drive on the Sedona ( i have a 2017) I think one needs to actually calculate it manually for a more accurate estimate.

    1. It looks good, ugly cars get passed by.
    2. The 3rd row is very small, 5'6" and up will hit the roof back there, and the windows are tiny.
    3. Gets expensive with options quick, the EX looks to be the goldilocks for value.
    Sum up: With 2 nice rows and a lousy 3rd row, it's the minivan for people who don't need a minivan.

You can get a XLE for the option there given, I have a XLE 2017...I'm only missing a couple of options from the limited , programmable seats, extra Sunroof and AWD.....
