The crazy thing is that this song was fan made and the creators were so impressed, they animated around it. A prime example of why indie animation is the way forward. Enough fire to burn down a galaxy. Also, for future reference, Angel's real name is Anthony. He also has a sister who he loves and a dad and brother who he has a rocky relationship with given he's a gay boy in the 1940's.

One thing I had pointed out to me is the contrast between Angel Dust and Cherri Bomb and their similarities. Both are struggling to cope with their trauma, both turn to destructive tendancies, but where Cherri is outwardly destructive, lashing out at society, Angel is self destructive.
I've heard it once but that was years ago. What happened to cherri? Something about being in love with a demon hunter(the guy in cherri's flash cuts) or something
Cherri isn't just lashing out at society, she's destroying the holdings of Valentino, the Overlord who essentially owns Angel Dust. She's working her way up to becoming an Overlord specifically so she can have the power to help Angel Dust get free.

One of my favorite things about this is that it gives so much depth to Cherry Bomb as a character. I know she didn't have a lot of screen time in the pilot which is the main reason for that, but when I first saw her and Angel I kinda saw them as like fair weather friends. Like they enjoy hanging out with each other but for the most part they only care for their own problems But this shows that the two are much closer than they seemed in the pilot. Especially the brief cut scenes during the first chorus of Angel suffering and Cherry being concerned for him It's really good visual storytelling I think
How can a song be so catchy, yet so depressing at the same time? The whole thing comes across as Angel Dust convincing himself that he loves this lifestyle, while we see all the parts he's clearly uncomfortable with. And yet I can't stop humming along to it. I'm just glad that Cherri Bomb is there for him. And seriously, screw Valentino!
I think it's that and a bit more. He does love the life style, or did. He's addicted to it. not just the angel dust, the attention, the money, the glamour. But with valentino, forcing himself, it's as the song said "another dose of pleasure that resides by the pain" he loves the life, is addicted to it. but the good of that is tainted by the ptsd of that night. Just likesmoking some weed feels awesome, it's still a poison. your body reacts to it, that's what causes the high.
@@lyrebirb83 Which isn't helped by the feelings Angel already has through his trauma when he was alive. His addiction is not only a PTSD trigger, but also self-destructive and it really shows how he deep inside wants to improve himself even if he can't be fully redeemed.
Something to note, look at what Cheri's targeting with her explosives. Imagery and businesses owned by the big guy in the limo that was forcing himself on Angel. She's not just randomly causing chaos, she's trying to hurt Valentino's wallet as a possible way to help Angel. Hell she may be the reason he ended up at the hotel in the first place, though indirectly. We don't know for sure, but we'll find out more when the show premieres. also the pig's name is Fat Nuggets. Most are convinced Angel dotes on him heavily.
Remember the context of the relationship between Cheri and angel when you think about him brawling with the snake. She was the only one there for him, so the fight that he portrays as a violent indulgence, is also an act of loyalty and care for someone who was there when he needed it ♥️.
Fun thing with this song, it is the actual voice actor for Angel Dust singing. That’s right, the voice of Jax, N, and Rocky from Lackadaisy is singing this

Also, you have now been introduced to one of the most loved characters in the fandom and one of the most hated. The loved character is Angel Dust’s pet pig Fat Nugget. The hated character is Angel Dust’s pimp, Valentino.
And fun fact: we see Valentino in the opening song of the Hazbin Hotel pilot, specifically him texting one of his "workers" who is with a "John" at the time...idk if it has been confirmed, but it's at least implied that he was texting Angel.
The track was made by Silvahound, who has had a long history in the MLP:FiM fan EDM scene. They've definitely come a long way since then in the past decade.
This gave depth to Angel Dust that was sorely needed. He went from a sex and drugs joke with some glimpses of a good heart to something heartbreakingly *Human*. The very ending of the video is my favorite part, because it peels away the "Ha ha, it's Hell so everything's fucked!" layer and shows how much this shit kills Angel on the inside, how his addictions are both a crutch he leans on and a chain digging into his neck. I lost interest in Helluva Boss, but I'll check in on Hazbin once in a while, because I want to see Angel Dust heal so badly, and I have this music video to thank for that.
Aww I’m actually tearing up with everything poor angel dust has been through (and for anyone who doesn’t understand the overlord of adult films Valentino’s favourite adult star is angel dust because he’s the most successful so he “does it” against angel’s will and forces him to do all kinds of stuff like that so he doesn’t feel safe anywhere but Charlie’s hotel and it’s not like he can run away to a different ring because the sinners are stuck in the pride ring so that’s basically what the song is about and what’s going on in it)
Valentino is Angel's pimp. And like most pimps, he views Angel as his property to use and abuse as he likes. Even at the very beginning on the pilot, Val has Angel go out on a job DURING the extermination, regardless of the extreme danger. That their relationship involves regular SA, is sad, but not very surprising.
There's one shot in this music video that I absolutely love for the juxtaposition. "We're getting higher than the ceiling." as the camera pans up and shows the bottom of an aquarium showing that literally they are so far down emotionally/physically that even the highs they get aren't bringing them close to the surface of normality.
the more you hear/read the lyrics the more it say about Angel "till death do us part, but we are already past that phase" [referencing he is already dead] "it's a band new start, and it think it's time for some praise for the way that i am" [he expected the afterlife to embrace his debauched lifestyle] "Despite having overdosed and ending up comatose" [Saying how me died] "i'm Addicted to the Maddness, This hotel is my Atlantis. we will always have a reason to sin. let me light my soul a burning, i'll be breathing it in. i'm addicted to the feeling, getting higher then the ceiling. and we're never gunna want this feeling to end. just concede and give in to your inner demons again" [these aren't cries for help, this is a proclamation that they don't have anything else. they have literally no reason to stop...] "i'm Addicted to the Sorrow, when the buzz ends by tomorrow. there is another rush of poison flowing into my veins. giving me another dose of pleasure that resides by the pain." [this is the cry for help, but a hesitant one, as the problem isn't directly his addiction, it's the things the addiction lets in. he is trapped, the very thing that gave his life meaning to him, is now his prison. ] in turn this paints a picture, in his first life he was an probably an outcast, a gay crossdressing prostitute isn't exactly standard... while disappointed by how he died, he seen hell as a second chance, to maybe not be the outcast this time. to be "praised for the way that i am". however, instead of acceptance, he found abuse and exploitation. he hoped for a silver lining, and found worse instead.
And the last line, about him maybe finding something in the hotel...Angel may not believe in Charlie's idea of saving sinners' souls, but in a way, the hotel may be able to save Angel from the hell he's ended up in inside of hell.
For a bit of BG: Angel's abuser and "owner" is Valentino, he's part of a triad of overlords you've seen in the intro of Hazbin Hotel, alongside Velvet (of whom we know next to nothing about as of right now, aside that she's into gothic lolita style and she's obsessed with socials) and Vox (tv headed guy that, unsurprisingly, is Alastor's rival). Valentino is a violent and cruel pimp who keeps his whores in line with abuse and by fueling their drug addictions (in the HH pilot Angel is prostituting himself with the "poorly packaged horse sh!t" to pay back Valentino). Thanks to a comic by Viv we know that. in the past, Valentino had a relationship with Stolas. As for Cherri we... don't know a lot... we know that the guy in the puddle was potentially her ex. What do we know, however (thanks to instagram official gimmick accounts and Viv during podcasts), is that Cherri is an incredibly close friend to Angel, rivalling in affections his twin sister Molly, and that she is trying to become an overlord herself specifically to be able to kill Valentino for what he's doing to Angel and all the building you see her destroy in this video are, as a matter of fact, owned by Valentino.
In the pilot of Hazbin Hotel, I hated (absolutely and unequivocally) Angel Dust because of his attitude. The lone joke of "Harder daddy" did almost nothing for me (I laughed more at Serpentius) except to confirm he was to be the clown of the show, so when someone recommended "Addict" to me, I initially resisted for a few months. I finally relented after a good friend said "This will completely change your mind about Angel Dust." so I saw the video. By the end, I was crying and debating with myself over what I wanted more; to hug Angel Dust and tell him everything would get better, or to literally tear Valentino limb from limb, and turn his body into bite sized chunks. I also recommend "Insane" which is more of a dedication to Alastor from Hazbin Hotel (although I have yet to see an actual animation of the song)
One thing Alicia won’t hear is the collective fan scream of uncontrollable rage whenever Valentino (the creep who smiles before the music starts) appears on screen, the character who has never appeared on screen in the canon trailer or Heluva has the fan base wanting to give him a thermonuclear enema…
Little context that isn’t spoilers btw. The guy who assaults Angel Dust is named Valentino, he’s one of the 13 overlords of hell like Alastor. What makes Valentino unique even to the overlords is he’s considerably Weak compared to his fellow overlords but what keeps him in power is his special highly addictive drug (the cigarette Angel uses) to keep powerful Allie’s reliant on him since they’re addicted to it. Unfortunately Valentino is one of the most evil of the overlords too, his cruelty surpasses Alastors and he can even be just as bloodthirsty too due to his toxic ego, short fuse and constant need for control. He does some VERY messed up stuff later so buckle up..
Fun fact, Angel is voiced by the same guy that voices N, Jax and Rocky. Or, he was. Pretty much the entirety of the Hazbin Hotel cast has been replaced, including Michael.

The songs about Hazbin are so amazing, I highly recommend the Alastor one as well as the "hell of a team" about Alastor and Charlie. The rock remix of it is also fire. I didn't even know about the show before I got into the music, it's just all that good.
This song is what made me truly in love with the idea of Hazbin Hotel. The fact they displayed so much trauma in a really respectful and realistic way. AngelDust suffered so much, and it's implied this body he's so proud off isn't even how he started it's something his Abuser (Valentino) gifted to Angel Dusty. It goes even further because Angel Dust was born into a mob family and was an absolute addict before dying and ending up in hell. There his addiction's didn't go away and instead became even worse presumably which is what landed him on Valentino's hand. If you noticed back in episode 1 I believe Valentino's phone was him texting Angel Dust demanding money. So the reason Angel even whored himself out to that man was because he had to pay Valentino. It genuinely gives the impression that he sees the hotel not as a place of redemption or anything. But as a hopefully safe place, I think the fact it was Run by Charlie and Vaguie a loving lesbian couple. Maybe gave him the idea the place would be safe for him
Iirc its less Angel Dust paying Valentino as it is him picking up someone elses payments. There is the prequel comic where he goes to get Val's money from some shady types and they don't wanna pay. It seems like other than being one of Val's performers, Angel Dust is also kind of an enforcer in Val's operation.
The pimp looking demon is Valentino, one of the Overlords who's in charge of operating all the sex related entertainments in the Pride Ring. He's probably gonna be one of the antagonist in the series when they start posting more episodes in 2024
while non-cannon, id love to see Alicia's reaction to Parnoid DJ's originals in this universe. he has at least one song for the majority of the cast. they are all bangers though.
There is also ' HAZBIN HOTEL ADDICT Reprise ' that better holds the end part to a good tune. Uses 1:1 autotune to enhance the vocals (Similar to Cher - do you believe), and brings a harder reverb to the piano tune.
You should totally watch Black Gryphons Hazbin Hotel songs Insane and Heaven 2 Hell. He's the singing voice for the Radio Demon and they are absolute bangers.
Yeah, Angel Dust is basically abused and raped by his manager/pimp/owner Valentino (the pimp-looking guy who sat at the end of the stage, blew a kiss to Angel during his dance, and forced Angel to kiss him in the limo.) And this music is absolutely FIRE!🔥
Is trying to save* We know Valentino is likely one of the antagonists of the series, and I doubt he'll take losing Angel sitting down. He's a pimp, and pimps don't like having their "goods" stolen. Charlie is going to need to keep Angel safe moving forward. And I look forward to watching every second of it.

5:23 Personally, I think this is so badass Angel is a drug addict and prostitute, who was forced to sell his own body to survive, and Cherri is a vandal who, I believe due to her solo in the song, was forced to date a mobster to live; they are not bad people, society have labeled them as bad simply because they don't fit the standards expected from man and woman And when they were labeled as bad they could have rebelled, they could have complained, but instead they said "oh, you think I'm bad? Do you want me to be bad? Then honey, i'm not only gonna be bad, I'm gonna be the baddest you have ever seen" and this is so badass They don't reject what they are, they OWN IT, and that's so fucking cool
A bit of past for Angel Dust, He works as a stripper as seen in the music video but he is also forced into prostitution by his boss who is an overlord demon, (the same as level the Radio Demon to give you a picture on how strong he is) so Angel cant really say no. And of course he completely hates it as seen in the music video. So he went to the hotel in hopes of redemption into heaven so he can have a true escape.
The pitch correction is surprisingly good on Michael in particular, as he is already putting on a voice and the almost metallic effect on his voice fits in with the instruments.
I feel like a lot of people miss that Angel said how he died in the first verse of the song. "I think I deserve some praise, despite having overdosed and winding up comatose."
The comment Alicia made at 3:30 hit me harder than expected cause some times there is just an angle you yourself are just unaware till you hear it put into words.
There are a lot of great hazbin fan songs out there, this is one is the poster child for good reason, it’s a great song and the creators recognized it but there are other great ones out there. This one came out of Silva hound, who’s got several other good ones like radio play (about Al) and royal flush (about husk). Also recommend anything out of paranoid DJ, pretty much all their hazbin songs are great.
I believe I saw somewhere that Cherri's destruction is not random during this video. The stuff that she's destroying is supposedly owned by Valentino, the demon that assaulted Angeldust. She's taking revenge by blowing up stuff that belongs to the person that hurt her friend.
This had me in love with Cherri by the end, she was there for Angel when he needed her and that’s always so important in these situations. I’d also like to point out that in the pilot they did draw a bit of attention to the dynamic between Angel and Vaggie. Angel is hypersexual to cope with that trauma but it’s alluded to that Vaggie is inherently distrustful of men which is more similar to my response after SA, hyper-vigilant. Depending on what text you read it’s not uncommon to see being a victim of SA described as a sin and potentially what landed her in hell. Just shooting from the hip though since that excessive aggression towards men was very much how I responded.
i have a feeling Alastor might have the part in that, Alastor is not a good person but he does seem to have morals in some respects, he's very similar to Hannibal Lector, Hannibal only kills people he finds repulsive, impolite or generally a stain on society, Alastor is very well spoken and fairly polite from what we've seen, he is very well dressed as always has a smile. . I definitely think Vivziepop used Hannibal as a basis for Alastor, so i do think Alastor would think a r@pist would be absolutely below him and would be more than happy to get rid of one

Why doesn't anyone who does reaction videos know how the youtube player works? Press these keys in order to go frame by frame in videos. Much more precise. The left and right arrow keys jump you 5 seconds, J and L will jump 10 seconds, and you can pause with K. It's more reliable than spacebar which sometimes scrolls you instead.

The thing about how this video portrayed hell to me is... it's still eternal torment. This portrayal of hell is basically "Okay, all that stuff in real life, all the sh$% and crud that happened. It still happens down here. Yeah, there's stuff that can make you feel better... for a bit. Things like drugs and sex, but it won't let you HEAL from your pain. Nothing down in hell will let you heal. And it'll NEVER get better. It'll happen again and AGAIN down here, tear apart and weather you away until you're a husk of torment and pain that'll do the exact same thing to others that land in hell as well." That's a horrifying idea to consider. They hurt you till you're not you anymore. And then you go on to hurt others until they're not themselves, and on and on and on. You become a monster you'd never recognize as yourself... guaranteed. And that makes Charlie's hotel the LITERAL one and only chance all sinners that get stuck in hell have of getting out and HEALING from their pain. Of escaping the toxic pool they're trapped and drowning in. That's my impression of the plot of the show.

Some Background for Angel. His real name is Anthony. He grew up in a Italian mafia family but died after a overdose in 1947. He would cut ties with his family upon entering Hell and then entered into the sex industry. When Valentino (the blue guy) came down to Hell, opened up his porn studio empire, Angel would find employment with him. Sadly only discovering just how abusive and controlling Val truly is after selling his soul to Val. Now stuck with Val and still wanting to ignore the rest of his life, he drowns himself with sex and drugs with only Cherry being his only friend that he can open up to.
tbh, this song's one of my all-time favorites, however I'm more of an Alastor fan and would love for you to check out either Alastor's game by the living tombstone and/or Insane by Black Gryph0n(insane is my favorite hazbin hotel song in total however Alastor's game is pretty good too)
just FYI, if you pause the video, you can Fast Forward and Rewind Frame-by-Frame using the < and > keys on your keyboard also, incase no one has pointed it out, it is theorized (or maybe its true, video has been out for sometime now), that this is all in Angel's head. near the end of the video when Angel and Cherri blow up the club, as they run out the door, there is a sign on the wall that says "It was all a dream". I don't know if it's still being produce-and, goodness, I hope it is-but apparently the pilot was picked up by Netflix and was to be made into an entire series with the original crew in charge of everything. I don't have Netflix anymore so I can't verify any of this anymore.
I do really like Vivzie's work. The heaven/hell dynamic was a missed opportunity that can still be worked with! I sort of like Milton's take on heaven and hell where both have an abundance of everything. You have everything you want in heaven and hell, but the issue with hell is that your desires are destructive. Does that mean there can't be bad guys in heaven and good guys in hell? Of course not. There are parts in the Divine comedy where "good people" are in hell because of their "lack of faith". And in Paradise Lost, there is a section where Lucifer considers redemption as a viable path. I just like the idea that hell is something of "one's own making", which would lead to a much more satisfying story to watch breaking through both their personal and literal hell.

One thing I had pointed out to me is the contrast between Angel Dust and Cherri Bomb and their similarities. Both are struggling to cope with their trauma, both turn to destructive tendancies, but where Cherri is outwardly destructive, lashing out at society, Angel is self destructive.
I've heard it once but that was years ago. What happened to cherri? Something about being in love with a demon hunter(the guy in cherri's flash cuts) or something
Cherri isn't just lashing out at society, she's destroying the holdings of Valentino, the Overlord who essentially owns Angel Dust. She's working her way up to becoming an Overlord specifically so she can have the power to help Angel Dust get free.

One of my favorite things about this is that it gives so much depth to Cherry Bomb as a character. I know she didn't have a lot of screen time in the pilot which is the main reason for that, but when I first saw her and Angel I kinda saw them as like fair weather friends. Like they enjoy hanging out with each other but for the most part they only care for their own problems
But this shows that the two are much closer than they seemed in the pilot. Especially the brief cut scenes during the first chorus of Angel suffering and Cherry being concerned for him

How can a song be so catchy, yet so depressing at the same time? The whole thing comes across as Angel Dust convincing himself that he loves this lifestyle, while we see all the parts he's clearly uncomfortable with. And yet I can't stop humming along to it. I'm just glad that Cherri Bomb is there for him. And seriously, screw Valentino!
I think it's that and a bit more. He does love the life style, or did. He's addicted to it. not just the angel dust, the attention, the money, the glamour. But with valentino, forcing himself, it's as the song said "another dose of pleasure that resides by the pain" he loves the life, is addicted to it. but the good of that is tainted by the ptsd of that night. Just likesmoking some weed feels awesome, it's still a poison. your body reacts to it, that's what causes the high.
@@lyrebirb83 Which isn't helped by the feelings Angel already has through his trauma when he was alive. His addiction is not only a PTSD trigger, but also self-destructive and it really shows how he deep inside wants to improve himself even if he can't be fully redeemed.
Something to note, look at what Cheri's targeting with her explosives. Imagery and businesses owned by the big guy in the limo that was forcing himself on Angel. She's not just randomly causing chaos, she's trying to hurt Valentino's wallet as a possible way to help Angel. Hell she may be the reason he ended up at the hotel in the first place, though indirectly. We don't know for sure, but we'll find out more when the show premieres.

The track was made by Silvahound, who has had a long history in the MLP:FiM fan EDM scene. They've definitely come a long way since then in the past decade.
This gave depth to Angel Dust that was sorely needed. He went from a sex and drugs joke with some glimpses of a good heart to something heartbreakingly *Human*.
The very ending of the video is my favorite part, because it peels away the "Ha ha, it's Hell so everything's fucked!" layer and shows how much this shit kills Angel on the inside, how his addictions are both a crutch he leans on and a chain digging into his neck.
I lost interest in Helluva Boss, but I'll check in on Hazbin once in a while, because I want to see Angel Dust heal so badly, and I have this music video to thank for that.

Aww I’m actually tearing up with everything poor angel dust has been through (and for anyone who doesn’t understand the overlord of adult films Valentino’s favourite adult star is angel dust because he’s the most successful so he “does it” against angel’s will and forces him to do all kinds of stuff like that so he doesn’t feel safe anywhere but Charlie’s hotel and it’s not like he can run away to a different ring because the sinners are stuck in the pride ring so that’s basically what the song is about and what’s going on in it)
Valentino is Angel's pimp. And like most pimps, he views Angel as his property to use and abuse as he likes. Even at the very beginning on the pilot, Val has Angel go out on a job DURING the extermination, regardless of the extreme danger. That their relationship involves regular SA, is sad, but not very surprising.
I have some extremely vital information: The pig's name is Fat Nuggets. That is all.
There's one shot in this music video that I absolutely love for the juxtaposition. "We're getting higher than the ceiling." as the camera pans up and shows the bottom of an aquarium showing that literally they are so far down emotionally/physically that even the highs they get aren't bringing them close to the surface of normality.
That ending hits almost as hard as the "Angel Dust" from that vending machine.

[these aren't cries for help, this is a proclamation that they don't have anything else. they have literally no reason to stop...]

[this is the cry for help, but a hesitant one, as the problem isn't directly his addiction, it's the things the addiction lets in. he is trapped, the very thing that gave his life meaning to him, is now his prison. ]
in turn this paints a picture, in his first life he was an probably an outcast, a gay crossdressing prostitute isn't exactly standard... while disappointed by how he died, he seen hell as a second chance, to maybe not be the outcast this time. to be "praised for the way that i am". however, instead of acceptance, he found abuse and exploitation. he hoped for a silver lining, and found worse instead.
And the last line, about him maybe finding something in the hotel...Angel may not believe in Charlie's idea of saving sinners' souls, but in a way, the hotel may be able to save Angel from the hell he's ended up in inside of hell.
For a bit of BG: Angel's abuser and "owner" is Valentino, he's part of a triad of overlords you've seen in the intro of Hazbin Hotel, alongside Velvet (of whom we know next to nothing about as of right now, aside that she's into gothic lolita style and she's obsessed with socials) and Vox (tv headed guy that, unsurprisingly, is Alastor's rival).
Valentino is a violent and cruel pimp who keeps his whores in line with abuse and by fueling their drug addictions (in the HH pilot Angel is prostituting himself with the "poorly packaged horse sh!t" to pay back Valentino).
Thanks to a comic by Viv we know that. in the past, Valentino had a relationship with Stolas.
As for Cherri we... don't know a lot... we know that the guy in the puddle was potentially her ex.
What do we know, however (thanks to instagram official gimmick accounts and Viv during podcasts), is that Cherri is an incredibly close friend to Angel, rivalling in affections his twin sister Molly, and that she is trying to become an overlord herself specifically to be able to kill Valentino for what he's doing to Angel and all the building you see her destroy in this video are, as a matter of fact, owned by Valentino.
In the pilot of Hazbin Hotel, I hated (absolutely and unequivocally) Angel Dust because of his attitude. The lone joke of "Harder daddy" did almost nothing for me (I laughed more at Serpentius) except to confirm he was to be the clown of the show, so when someone recommended "Addict" to me, I initially resisted for a few months. I finally relented after a good friend said "This will completely change your mind about Angel Dust." so I saw the video. By the end, I was crying and debating with myself over what I wanted more; to hug Angel Dust and tell him everything would get better, or to literally tear Valentino limb from limb, and turn his body into bite sized chunks.
I also recommend "Insane" which is more of a dedication to Alastor from Hazbin Hotel (although I have yet to see an actual animation of the song)
One thing Alicia won’t hear is the collective fan scream of uncontrollable rage whenever Valentino (the creep who smiles before the music starts) appears on screen, the character who has never appeared on screen in the canon trailer or Heluva has the fan base wanting to give him a thermonuclear enema…
Little context that isn’t spoilers btw. The guy who assaults Angel Dust is named Valentino, he’s one of the 13 overlords of hell like Alastor. What makes Valentino unique even to the overlords is he’s considerably Weak compared to his fellow overlords but what keeps him in power is his special highly addictive drug (the cigarette Angel uses) to keep powerful Allie’s reliant on him since they’re addicted to it.
Unfortunately Valentino is one of the most evil of the overlords too, his cruelty surpasses Alastors and he can even be just as bloodthirsty too due to his toxic ego, short fuse and constant need for control. He does some VERY messed up stuff later so buckle up..
Fun fact, Angel is voiced by the same guy that voices N, Jax and Rocky. Or, he was. Pretty much the entirety of the Hazbin Hotel cast has been replaced, including Michael.

The songs about Hazbin are so amazing, I highly recommend the Alastor one as well as the "hell of a team" about Alastor and Charlie. The rock remix of it is also fire.
I didn't even know about the show before I got into the music, it's just all that good.
This song is what made me truly in love with the idea of Hazbin Hotel.
The fact they displayed so much trauma in a really respectful and realistic way.
AngelDust suffered so much, and it's implied this body he's so proud off isn't even how he started it's something his Abuser (Valentino) gifted to Angel Dusty.
It goes even further because Angel Dust was born into a mob family and was an absolute addict before dying and ending up in hell.
There his addiction's didn't go away and instead became even worse presumably which is what landed him on Valentino's hand. If you noticed back in episode 1 I believe Valentino's phone was him texting Angel Dust demanding money. So the reason Angel even whored himself out to that man was because he had to pay Valentino.
It genuinely gives the impression that he sees the hotel not as a place of redemption or anything. But as a hopefully safe place, I think the fact it was Run by Charlie and Vaguie a loving lesbian couple. Maybe gave him the idea the place would be safe for him
Iirc its less Angel Dust paying Valentino as it is him picking up someone elses payments. There is the prequel comic where he goes to get Val's money from some shady types and they don't wanna pay. It seems like other than being one of Val's performers, Angel Dust is also kind of an enforcer in Val's operation.

A bit of past for Angel Dust, He works as a stripper as seen in the music video but he is also forced into prostitution by his boss who is an overlord demon, (the same as level the Radio Demon to give you a picture on how strong he is) so Angel cant really say no. And of course he completely hates it as seen in the music video. So he went to the hotel in hopes of redemption into heaven so he can have a true escape.
The pitch correction is surprisingly good on Michael in particular, as he is already putting on a voice and the almost metallic effect on his voice fits in with the instruments.
I feel like a lot of people miss that Angel said how he died in the first verse of the song. "I think I deserve some praise, despite having overdosed and winding up comatose."
The comment Alicia made at 3:30 hit me harder than expected cause some times there is just an angle you yourself are just unaware till you hear it put into words.

There are a lot of great hazbin fan songs out there, this is one is the poster child for good reason, it’s a great song and the creators recognized it but there are other great ones out there. This one came out of Silva hound, who’s got several other good ones like radio play (about Al) and royal flush (about husk). Also recommend anything out of paranoid DJ, pretty much all their hazbin songs are great.

I believe I saw somewhere that Cherri's destruction is not random during this video. The stuff that she's destroying is supposedly owned by Valentino, the demon that assaulted Angeldust. She's taking revenge by blowing up stuff that belongs to the person that hurt her friend.

I was halfway expecting her to Freak out that Michael is Angel Dust too.
This had me in love with Cherri by the end, she was there for Angel when he needed her and that’s always so important in these situations.
I’d also like to point out that in the pilot they did draw a bit of attention to the dynamic between Angel and Vaggie. Angel is hypersexual to cope with that trauma but it’s alluded to that Vaggie is inherently distrustful of men which is more similar to my response after SA, hyper-vigilant. Depending on what text you read it’s not uncommon to see being a victim of SA described as a sin and potentially what landed her in hell. Just shooting from the hip though since that excessive aggression towards men was very much how I responded.
Hopefully, the show will absolutely dust Valentino...
i have a feeling Alastor might have the part in that, Alastor is not a good person but he does seem to have morals in some respects, he's very similar to Hannibal Lector, Hannibal only kills people he finds repulsive, impolite or generally a stain on society, Alastor is very well spoken and fairly polite from what we've seen, he is very well dressed as always has a smile.

The thing about how this video portrayed hell to me is... it's still eternal torment. This portrayal of hell is basically "Okay, all that stuff in real life, all the sh$% and crud that happened. It still happens down here. Yeah, there's stuff that can make you feel better... for a bit. Things like drugs and sex, but it won't let you HEAL from your pain. Nothing down in hell will let you heal. And it'll NEVER get better. It'll happen again and AGAIN down here, tear apart and weather you away until you're a husk of torment and pain that'll do the exact same thing to others that land in hell as well." That's a horrifying idea to consider. They hurt you till you're not you anymore. And then you go on to hurt others until they're not themselves, and on and on and on. You become a monster you'd never recognize as yourself... guaranteed.
And that makes Charlie's hotel the LITERAL one and only chance all sinners that get stuck in hell have of getting out and HEALING from their pain. Of escaping the toxic pool they're trapped and drowning in. That's my impression of the plot of the show.

Some Background for Angel.
His real name is Anthony. He grew up in a Italian mafia family but died after a overdose in 1947. He would cut ties with his family upon entering Hell and then entered into the sex industry. When Valentino (the blue guy) came down to Hell, opened up his porn studio empire, Angel would find employment with him. Sadly only discovering just how abusive and controlling Val truly is after selling his soul to Val. Now stuck with Val and still wanting to ignore the rest of his life, he drowns himself with sex and drugs with only Cherry being his only friend that he can open up to.
Watching the series. This is depressing. Vivienne made a fucking masterpiece series. Wait till you watch THE episode.😊

also, incase no one has pointed it out, it is theorized (or maybe its true, video has been out for sometime now), that this is all in Angel's head. near the end of the video when Angel and Cherri blow up the club, as they run out the door, there is a sign on the wall that says "It was all a dream".

I don't know if it's still being produce-and, goodness, I hope it is-but apparently the pilot was picked up by Netflix and was to be made into an entire series with the original crew in charge of everything. I don't have Netflix anymore so I can't verify any of this anymore.
I do really like Vivzie's work. The heaven/hell dynamic was a missed opportunity that can still be worked with! I sort of like Milton's take on heaven and hell where both have an abundance of everything. You have everything you want in heaven and hell, but the issue with hell is that your desires are destructive. Does that mean there can't be bad guys in heaven and good guys in hell? Of course not. There are parts in the Divine comedy where "good people" are in hell because of their "lack of faith". And in Paradise Lost, there is a section where Lucifer considers redemption as a viable path. I just like the idea that hell is something of "one's own making", which would lead to a much more satisfying story to watch breaking through both their personal and literal hell.
Fun fact, for those who haven't read the comics, Angel's pet piggy is named "Fat Nuggets."
