Hi Ally! I'm the natural type and I definitelly use these types of make-up! I don't use liquid liner, instead I use pencils or eyeshadows and apply them with a narrow cut brush, works great and it softens the eyes! I also put more bronzer on the cheeks and on the nose to get the sunkissed almost blurry effect and a touch of highlighter and always go for browns and greys they make the eyes pop! Everything you said about dusty natural tones and smooth blending is spot on! I've given up on precise eyeliners because they just don't fit my hooded eyes and enjoy brown and grey smokey eyes! Love love your videos 💕 !
I was have always been attracted to dramatic and gamine type of fashion. As a soft classic, now I get why I always looked awkward. The jewelry, clothes and shoes would be wearing me and not the other way around. I feel like I have to grieve that a little bit, but now that I am more aware of my lines and how to dress for them I can now buy clothes that I can actually wear.
As a romantic I totally understand you ✌️ Good news for you: It's easier to find clothes for classic than it is for romantics... Maybe if I've lived in eighteen century ☺️
777magdalene same.... i accepted that the current beauty standard with make up,especially talking about thick eyebrows, don’t fit me. If I don’t have them then I don’t it will always look unnatural and not chic if I draw them thicker. But I sometimes I’m so jealous how the other types have so much expressive clothing options and makeup And soft classic is just... Simple and clean No rough edges no cutesy.....
@777magdalene Awww sweetheart don't be sad! You can still achieve a similar feel and look, but within your own lines... It's a little challenging, but attainable! I'm likely a natural/dramatic type, and I LOVE the soft romantic vintage look with cutesy prints and bows :'(. But I'm starting to find similar styles in larger lines, if that makes any sense; and try to apply the general Kibbe rules to what I like (gives a personal touch!). For example, I need to look like I'm NOT trying too hard, with little waist emphasis, and simple silhouettes with longer vertical line. So I find instead of short tight pencil skirts, looser simple skirts in a vintage-y colour or large print. Then on top an unconstructed blouse instead of a rounded tailored one, in a softly contrasting colour. To achieve a more vintage feel, I could wear some rough looking suspenders on top, and boots. I'll wear a large ribbon in my tousled hair, with muted red lipstick. The overall result should be somewhat relaxed vintage style, in mostly N lines. In your case, as a soft classic, it's actually super easy to look more 'fun', or 'fierce' by just incorporating one or two elements from your preferred style into your outfit; while keeping the base foundation SN. You only need a little touch! Like, a high neckline/choker or small cute print or softly contrasting colour to channel gamine (because you're a soft, you can do more than classics). Dramatic is a little harder, but you could try minimalism in accessories, focus on one heavier element in makeup (fierce eyes/lips), or one piece of clothing that's slightly oversized, sharp or has a long vertical line. This should make you look very edgy already. Try and play around with it to see how your overall look changes! I think Merriam Style also has a vid on SN types specifically, it might be of interest! Hope this all helps? Take care 💜
I know the feeling being a flamboyant- natural ( natural+ dramatic blend) and being drawn to romantic, or gamin accents that seemed to clutter my frame in hindsight!! Same with certain fav. colors too... :/ The GOOD news is, you can incorporate these "styles" and aesthetics in your Home Decor to your hearts content!! Try it- i hope it gives you hope to enjoy things that catch your eye and you'd adore- you can live with Dramatic & Gamine- ish home accents, perfume bottles, inspired linens, keepsakes, stationary and mementos- since it is not reflecting directly off your frame/face its All Good :)
@@cinderling5472 Thank you for your comment and you are totally right. I should not focus on not being able to wear romantic or natural pieces but should see how I can LOOK romantic, dramatic or natural but within my own lines. I think a good way for me to achieve drama is to add black leather (either for shoes, skirt, jacket or belt) and a heavy element in makeup, like you proposed. Merriam Style's channel is also super helpful.
Since your Russian, I would love to see a Slavic/Eastern European make-up tutorial from you! I was searching for something like that a long time and I think people would really like it
When you mentioned dusty lipsticks I was screaming my ass off! And the rest of this advice is pretty spot on!! Sometimes I don't even wear a foundation as that will just cover my natural glowy look. The rest of this, from the eyebrows, the hair, the eye makeup, that's exactly how I prefer to do my makeup.

Thanks you so much for everything with love, Carolina from Chile.
I think a lot of people like the natural type make up because it's a very neutral, light look. Probably goes along with almost everyone for everyday makeup or people who don't like/wear a lot of make up. Of course, in naturals, it doesn't look basic, it looks very chic and sophisticated
Thank you for this series. Request: it would be so great if you could help us train our eyes on how to assess the correct fashion choices for the various body types. One way this could be done is by analyzing various red carpet events and finding the "does and don'ts". (ei: why this outfit looks great or not great on any given celebrity). Spacibo!
This just confirmed that I am a natural. I’ve been trying to figure out my kibbe type for the longest and something my best friend tells me is that I look better without a lot of makeup on. When I try to do Instagram type makeup it looks so bad on me. The glowy soft makeup looks great on me though.
Liv Tyler looks like 1940’s glamour in some of the photos! Jennifer and Ali’s styles are what I think of when I think of the Natural type. I didn’t think you could look so much like a Natural! 💕
Kellie Gallagher Kellie Gallagher can you please write full name of that dark haired Ali lady you just mentioned? I didn’t hear the surname, but loved her pictures whenever I saw them :)
Oh sorry yes Ali MacGraw . Yes best known for Love Story but you can see how she looks over the years. Her biggest changes are probably her hair she didn’t stray much from her Natural clothes and style.
This is so true, I can’t wear super dark/heavy makeup looks especially on the eyes it just looks too much on me, it’s hard for me to find false lashes that suit my face as well which is why I never wear them.
Glow fresh face; slightly pronounced cheekbones; stronger bone structure; dark and thicker brows ; blurring border of lips; pink blush with a bit of shimmer sun kissed glow + bronzer and highlighter; mascara ; color pink eyecolor; define cheekbones; u can go for thicker eyeliner blended ; matte eyeshadow; dusty muted lipstick shades; u can line the water line
How interesting! I'm a soft natural (I think. Correct me if you can see that I'm totally wrong😂) and I've been doing very similar, glowy, natural makeup intuitively for a long time. What a genius Aly truly is!
Nice vid aly, alot of these "rules" for naturals i have actually learned myself thru trial and error. Like strong eyebrows and soft dusty natural to natural red shaded non precise lips, those two things can make me look polished and put together in an instant and not overdone. So this makes me feel somewhat vindicated like im on the right track haha
this is extacly the makeup I tend to go for and feel best wearing as a natural. I always think I look kinda weird with dramatic/heavy makeup. your body types series has really changed my way of thinking and now I feel like I understand why some stuff look great on some people and completely fake on others. thank you for your great work!
Excellent as Always Aly!! Im accepting that I no longer have to justify why simple Lip Glosses will always be Hg/favorite and a standby through all the years and fads!! Lip Gloss never lets me down!! - Who else is with me!!??! :)
Yay!!! I'm so excited for this video, I can't wait to try your tips. This explains why the smoky-glam eye look is so challenging for me, it always looks too heavy. Love your Pinterest boards! 💛
I've always done a natural or smokey eye with soft shimmery lips. My eyebrows are dark, my cheekbones are defined and my hair was dark and curly. Now my hair is smoother with multiple shades of grey/silver and looks great. I'm so thankful to know that my body type is natural. Casual oversized bohemian shapes always worked for me. Sometimes veered into Romantic but that never looked as good on me. Thanks for all the specifics! You have a great channel!
I think I am a soft natural, I do my make up just like you said, very soft and blended, the exception is my lips, I am very pale and I look sort of sick or undone with light lip colors, so whenever I wear any makeup at all, I always do very strong and precise lips. I've done smoky eyes and pale lips just for a change but I don't think it looks as good as with red lips.
I'm a soft natural. When I wear heavy male-up and have to cry for some reason, the hole make-up blurs. :-D thats how I look the best! But I don't know how to create this eye make-up without crying :-D
Samee, I love how the black eyeshadow looks on my botton lash line after sleeping for instance, or as you said, crying. But I can't get that effect when I do my makeup
That's interesting, I wonder if Kibbe meant something like that when he spoke of a 'watercolor effect'? Why not try to simply spritz some water/tonic from a water bottle on your face after makeup application? I wonder if it may work?
@@cinderling5472 hmmm,I think that look is not something you can wear at work or even out, because it would look messy and like you cried. It is a great look for us naturals, but I couldn't wear it in public :(
@@sarutucigash Sure, I think for clubbing or instagram we can wear this look. But of course not for work. Maybe there are some make-up tutorials for this special look. But I dunno what to search for ;-) (my englisch is not perfect.I'm german)
Samee, what i do is put on a small brush a little black eyeshadow and just smudge it slightly on my lower lashes, and then on a bigger puffy brush i put a nude eyeshadow and then blend everything. Hope it helps! :)
still so unsure if I'm a natural or a classic type! but love love love your videos so much; thank you for the inspiration and respect and kindness you express in how yu speak
I‘m looking forward for the Natural Make-Up. Very good explained and I agree with you about well blended eyeshadow and not precise lips. That don’t suit me personal. Thank you for your videos, you’re great 👍🏻🤗
I struggled to decide which body type i would fit in, and with this video i am more than certain that i am natural, because that's actually just the way i do my makeup. It's incredible i had already figured out how to do it according to my facial structure.
I may be wrong- but I believe that if she simply does this series showcasing the main types for makeup, it would make sense to keep things simple and "in general" for face- which can vary so much and get complex with individuals. If that's the case- I hope you dont despair because I can easily see how this leads to understanding your personal features and how to flatter them best and play them up. For example- after watching Dramatic and Classic videos- decide which features lean dramatic/classic- and experiment with the specific suggestions. ( Ex- dramatic thin wide lips or classic pout? Or decide whether your face is predominantly classic/dramatic - and go from there. I'm a Dramatic/(flamboyant) Natural....Natural face and bluntness, but with the height and frame of dramatic types. So, although my clothes could go for a little more "drama"- this natural vid suits me best than the first one.
This was very refreshing to see. Currently, I only wear lip sticks as makeup but I mostly just go without anything. I'm 21 but I look like 16 lol. It really doesn't bother me, but it bothers my mom and she's always trying to get me to put more makeup on. Everytime you were on a certain step said something like "you're good to go like this but let's keep going" gave me some hope. I think I'm either a flamboyant natural or a soft natural so I'm looking forward to those. Also, as a suggestion, I'd love a video on casual clothes for the body types. I'm stuck on Graphic tees and jeans, and I'm not sure how to expand beyond that. I just kinda wear whatever. But I'm ready to have more pride in my clothes and general look.
Omg haha you do the makeup exactly as I do. I did it intuitively so far without knowing why I do it like I do, but now that I know I'm soft natural it makes sense . Thank you for all the videos you are a true artist
This totally works for me. Every time I tried to draw on a sharp flicked black line, bold lips etc. that part of my face looked like from a different person. As minimalistic makeup as possible is definitely the right way.
I didn’t realize until I watched this but I think I might be of the natural body and facial type. My factual features are moderately defined with slight roundness/softness and a slight broadness. Thank you I guess haha
This explains why nothing works on me. Make up has never made me look any better and it's so frustrating. Everyone else can just change their style and attempt these fabulous party looks and whatnot, but I'm just always me.
Descriptions for the kibbe types: Romantic: Feminine, sexy Gamine: Youthful, quirky Dramatic: Striking, regal Classic: Perfectly proportioned, timeless beauty Natural: She-Hulk, arms made for cutting wood, the shape of a square
Aly I have a question please. Don't you think that some type of make up in their texture can be yang or yin ? Like for example, the liquid eyeliner seems yang and masculine to me, cause its more dramatic than pencil or eyeshadow. Lip gloss too maybe ! Etc...
@B. KCee i was speaking of TEXTURE. Liquid eyeliner is way more stronger dark and dramatic than black khol pencil... same for BOLD full pigment lip colors who doesn't have softness to them
@B. KCee oh my God : TEXTURE. TEXTURE. TEXTURE. Khol or pencil is definitely lighter than Liquid eyeliner which is more opaque and "lifeless", Yes liquid eyeliner is pretty strong cause it doesn't fade naturally on eyes and emotions like pencils do !!!!!! It harden the eyes in a way. I say that cause liquid eyeliner make my face feature really Yang and not Yin like pencil does ! (I am theatrical romantic which is a blend of Yang and Yin : dramatic makeup makes us look more masculine but glamorous softer looks make us more feminine and balanced !) So yeah it doesn't matter if the line is thin or not, I speak of texture with a purpose.
@B. KCee PS : You are truly annoying like i've never felt that ugly vibe of yours ever here on youtube, why are you so concerned and condescending while I was happily asking a question for Aly who knows obviously more than you about looks. Damn, you must be such a pleasure to live for the people around you @!! You're not welcom anymore on my comment block so keep your feedback already inside your fingers, thank you.
@B. KCee Liquid eyeliner is ... liquidy. Pencil or khol are a dry texture. The liquid is opaque whatever SHAPE or form it draws. I'm gonna give you a free lesson; Texture= in relation with the touch sens, textures can be so diverse in human product or in nature; sand, water, earth, cream, gel, clay, all makes different textures. I don't know how in your shaking stupid world you applied Khol but it can be feminine and captivating while liquid eyeliner doesn't "moove" with the eyes, cause its strong. Many women don't like even the thinnest eyeliner line cause it appears to them to make their eyes "smaller" or "weird" or not "natural" enough, while a line (thin or thick) with pencil on the upper lid can be easily wear for daytime looks. Why Marilyn Monroe wear pencil and not liquid eyeliner then ...???? Don't read the reason of her own late professionnal makeup artists, Please respond to make us laugh i'm very curious. You're so lost in the West, i mean did you even listen to the series on the subject made by Aly ??? Anyway you are obviously a bad narrow minded person who don't like the contradiction in stupid detail, you must be awful as a person really I have compassion for people who got to leave/work around you, I sign and swear this.
I still havent found what type I am yet. But I love your videos and I havent found anyone on RUclips that has your kind of content. Such gold! And I love your accent💕
artemisrain me too. Though my brows are probably not as blond as yours, but my problem is they are not thick at all! High contrast makeup looks wrong on me! Still trying to find the right brows. A blonde grey powder or pencil and light brown brow gel are what I’m trying now.
I think you don't have to avoid bright colour on your face just because you are pure Natural type. For instance, your make up can be fresh looking and your lipstick can be a bright pink, quite glossy and sheer.
I know this question isn't meant for me, but your question caught my interest. I would think that, with pale and sparse eyebrows, you would have extra lid-room to play with and could make your eyes look extravagant. Even if you don't really have more lid-space than a person with darker or thicker brows, it would appear that you do because pale brows are harder to see.
@@urboturbo1249 Oh, would you mind telling what shade? I've a blonde friend with incredibly light eyebrows (white, like some gingers) who has the hardest time finding eyebrow pencils in the correct shade.
No wonder I looked so odd all these years dressing as a flamboyant natural when I'm a classic. I look like a million bucks when I wear classic dresses and makeup. As soon as I dress like a natural (which I love the look) it made me look like a hobo -_- But I can't wear classic makeup and clothes every day, people think I'm upper crust and look too formal :(
Common Sense A Super Power check out Merriam Style here on RUclips. She talks about how to deal with this problem; how to wear your lines but achieve the effect you want.
Good News is you can totally deck your home/room in natural boho style and aesthetic- trending for a while with Urban Outfitters Home dept. Love the look with your eyes- at a nice cozy distance !! :P
Currently I'm not working out that much... However I think I'm some kind of natural. I have a similar body to Jennifer Aniston, but I don't have the tendency to accumulate flash in the waist and I'm only 5'3 🤷🏻♀️ every time I look at a SN they look much heavier than me but I have a similar face to Pryanka, except the nose, mine is smaller.... I'm thinking for months that I'm a SN but I'm too straight and tend to look more muscular even not working out (but I don't have those taut chic bones) 🤷🏻♀️
ok I'm body type Soft dramatic, but at face Naturals. I no longer want to be Soft dramatic a'm to sexy in this style and donnt fell.it anymore. so i'm looking something betwine those two styles. but now i know why for big rest my life i was making horrible makeup from one book of makeup from 80tees. i was making sharp dramatic or classic look on me (terrible) .now i know that naturals good very good and sometime cat eyes with nude lips az sofr dramatic. bu i personally love minimalist total look but my body is to curly for it. so I go for soft naturals of body type instead soft dramatic which i am. thank.you. you ate great!

I like this idea for days when I don't feel like doing much makeup! Great video! :)
Your videos are really useful. Hoping for the next video to be for classics❤
Love you and your channel ❤🇮🇳
I JUST THOUGHT WHAT WOULD GO FOR NATURALS. NICE TIMING THANK YOU
still so unsure if I'm a natural or a classic type! but love love love your videos so much; thank you for the inspiration and respect and kindness you express in how yu speak
Thank you! If you are on this small avatar - I think looks more like natural ))
@@AlyArt oh wow!!!! thank you so much!!! this has made my day
I‘m looking forward for the Natural Make-Up. Very good explained and I agree with you about well blended eyeshadow and not precise lips. That don’t suit me personal. Thank you for your videos, you’re great 👍🏻🤗
Hey Ali! Love this body type series! You should do a video about posing for body types as you were talking about in the Marilyn Monroe video x
I struggled to decide which body type i would fit in, and with this video i am more than certain that i am natural, because that's actually just the way i do my makeup. It's incredible i had already figured out how to do it according to my facial structure.
It's great, you nailed it! It's my all time style, no foundation, natural glowing skin, eyeliner and gloss, enough!!
I can’t wait to see dramatic classic!
Please do a video on how to apply blush! I have so much trouble with it and never seem to figure it out
This is pretty much how I'm always doing my makeup! Soft and blended. Thank you so much for this video, it was super informative
I took that test and got Natural. I was shocked! But...it kind of makes sense! Great tutorial as always, Aly!
Thank you so much for making this video! I have a date tomorrow, you uploaded this just when I needed it ❤️
I didn’t realize until I watched this but I think I might be of the natural body and facial type. My factual features are moderately defined with slight roundness/softness and a slight broadness. Thank you I guess haha
Yeeeaaaaaah, I love it! I love your energy, while explaining the makeup for Naturals... 😘
I was so looking forward to this! :)
Can you please make a video for women over 60 with hooded eyes make up?
She did one on her mother
Yes i found for myself that more soft and natural makeup looks best on me. I wish i knew that years ago.
Nice video-as always! Love your hair styled like that!
Just now noticed that natural makeup fits me most of all and is my favorite, though I’m a Classic :)
This explains why nothing works on me. Make up has never made me look any better and it's so frustrating. Everyone else can just change their style and attempt these fabulous party looks and whatnot, but I'm just always me.
I hope classic will be next ☺️
Could you do a video on hats, headwraps, headgear for the body types?
This series is just perfect, so informative !! thank you
Thank you Aly you made my rather horrible day a lot better by uploading. Keep up the good work :)
Waiting patiently for classic. I am not crying 😂
Descriptions for the kibbe types:
Romantic: Feminine, sexy
Gamine: Youthful, quirky
Dramatic: Striking, regal
Classic: Perfectly proportioned, timeless beauty
Natural: She-Hulk, arms made for cutting wood, the shape of a square
Im not even a natural but i learn soooo much from you🤣🤣❤
Thank you for your content and keep up the good work ;)
Cheers from Brussels ❤
Aly I have a question please. Don't you think that some type of make up in their texture can be yang or yin ? Like for example, the liquid eyeliner seems yang and masculine to me, cause its more dramatic than pencil or eyeshadow. Lip gloss too maybe ! Etc...
@B. KCee i was speaking of TEXTURE. Liquid eyeliner is way more stronger dark and dramatic than black khol pencil... same for BOLD full pigment lip colors who doesn't have softness to them
Great idea 👌🏻
I’ve been checking out your channel every day every hour and HERE IT ISSSSSSS❤️Love you aly
Love your posts. Always packed with helpful information. Thank you
I still havent found what type I am yet. But I love your videos and I havent found anyone on RUclips that has your kind of content. Such gold! And I love your accent💕
this is my favorite of the makeup for body type looks you've done so far! and where can I find a yellow jacket like the one you're wearing?
can’t wait for gamine 😍
what about soft natural? does this apply for us too?
Does this mean red lipstick is off the table for soft naturals? I've always loved the 40s look.
Thank you so much Aly! I've been waiting for this so long😘👏
Makes sense now why complex intense eyeshadow is just not doing it for me. Less work for me to look great!
Love the way you do your make up! Your Face is so pretty! Do you bleach your Hair?
Yes!! I’ve been waiting for this and have watched the other videos too! ♥️
Um, Aly... I'm a very fair skinned natural with almost invisible blonde eyebrows. What the heck do I do? What do you guys suggest?
artemisrain me too. Though my brows are probably not as blond as yours, but my problem is they are not thick at all! High contrast makeup looks wrong on me! Still trying to find the right brows. A blonde grey powder or pencil and light brown brow gel are what I’m trying now.
I love this videos! Could you please talk about ethereal type too?
Is this for dramatic/flamboyant natural too?
No. I will have a video for each type ))
@@AlyArt 😍😍 You're the best! Love you! 💜
Hmmmm, thinking the Natural type is the Girl Next door type! So jealous. 😬
you are so underrated, you helped me so much, thank you !!
Thank you for your inspiration!
very informative! thanks❤ and you're so lovely
Great tips! Thank you!💕
What if a natural having a bright winter color undertone? Should it still be muted color for her make up?
I think you don't have to avoid bright colour on your face just because you are pure Natural type. For instance, your make up can be fresh looking and your lipstick can be a bright pink, quite glossy and sheer.
I love this series!!! You are awesome!!!
Obessed wid ur channel lately ❤️
Would bleached brows look good on naturals?
Wow the way you transformed.
Yesss! Thank you! You are amazing ❤️❤️❤️
Aly, I have a question for you! If you had pale, sparse brows, would you focus more on eyes or lips?
Ps. Loving your content.
@@unneighborlyarcades6356 That's true!
Filling in the brows carefully, so they look natural, but have more visual weight could be good to go with the bone structure. I am in the same boat
@@clairekurdelak2913 In fact, I bought a light brow gel from Nyx. The lightest one I've ever seen! No red undertone... Looks really natural. :)
@@urboturbo1249 Oh, would you mind telling what shade? I've a blonde friend with incredibly light eyebrows (white, like some gingers) who has the hardest time finding eyebrow pencils in the correct shade.
Does this apply for Flamboyant Naturals too?
No wonder I looked so odd all these years dressing as a flamboyant natural when I'm a classic. I look like a million bucks when I wear classic dresses and makeup. As soon as I dress like a natural (which I love the look) it made me look like a hobo -_-
But I can't wear classic makeup and clothes every day, people think I'm upper crust and look too formal :(
Common Sense A Super Power check out Merriam Style here on RUclips.
How about soft natural?
ok I'm body type Soft dramatic, but at face Naturals. I no longer want to be Soft dramatic a'm to sexy in this style and donnt fell.it anymore. so i'm looking something betwine those two styles. but now i know why for big rest my life i was making horrible makeup from one book of makeup from 80tees. i was making sharp dramatic or classic look on me (terrible) .now i know that naturals good very good and sometime cat eyes with nude lips az sofr dramatic. bu i personally love minimalist total look but my body is to curly for it. so I go for soft naturals of body type instead soft dramatic which i am. thank.you. you ate great!
can't wait for flamboyant natural makeup ✌️
Aly, Liv tayler is flamboyant or dramatic classic? X.ox.o
