Even with ads its going to go up more, there's too much of life's essentials to cover before any subscription services. My experience in cybersecurity, developing apps and developing companies that I have later on sold, I can with confidence say am smart. In my previous ventures, I've found that even "free" services often have trade-offs, like advertising. Most companies including Xbox will only provide ads in free. plan or the lowest paying plan that is ad supported just like Netflix. I'd be happy to share some insights I've gained if you're interested and explain things further if there is something you have hard time understanding.

The Pulse3D headsets work great for their price and it's super cheap and easy to replace the ear cups. You can buy 3 Pulse3D headsets for the price of an Inzone H9 (they discontinued the H7 and the H3 is trash). The only reason I even have an H9 is due to receiving it as an exchange after experiencing issues with the H7 I had - which was purchased for around half of its $200 MSRP. The simultaneous Bluetooth phone connectivity is nice, but not as necessary because of the Discord integration. The main thing you gain for spending $200 more on the headset is the ANC, which is definitely top notch. If you can get them for cheap or have money to burn, then go for it. Note: the Inzone headsets are quite large and even though my cranium is massive, the headset still feels loose-fitting when reduced to its smallest size.
I stopped caring for XGP and XGPU for quite some time. I only play the 9.99 to play oneline and that's it. I'm not paying almost $13-$20 just for a month of a game when I can buy it and play for years and save more money for game DLC's for cosmetics.

Some of us live in rural areas where internet options are still few and less than reliable. Not to mention kind of slow. Stream gaming is simply not a viable option out here. I bought Starfield and I opted to download it to my console. It took 3 DAYS to download (74 hours, actually)! I kinda require physical copies of games...not game streams. 100% online games is a sucky idea.
I don't mind an ad supported gamepass tier if it goes out. Maybe just keep it on the dashboard or on the loading screen before the game launches and at most at the main menu of the games.
Was just playing need for speed most wanted (2005) for 360 and i noticed an advertisement. But! It wasnt a crappy ad. It was a blimp, in the game, that had "Burger king" on it. 😂😂😂 I actually enjoyed it vs the unskippable, intrusive, jarring and downright scummy/scammy ads we have now.

I always thought the day of a decoder card in a PC would come for consoles before a streaming stick. They could make consoles around the card for those without PC's. Microsoft already had the dominant OS on PC.

Last week, Forza Horizon 4 was still being sold at $60 on the Xbox store. Announcements were already made that the game is being delisted this December, yet it was still $60. Microsoft already killed FM7 the exact same way (delisted it rather than pay to renew licenses to cars and music). When FM7 was delisted, great sales were offered in “apology” and you could get the ultimate edition with all content for $20. Well, the same finally goes for FH4. This week marks the first week of hugely discounted deals for FH4. You can get the base game for a mere $12. I recommend shelling out a few more dollars for the ultimate edition though as it grants all DLC (which will also be delisted) for the full experience. These are dark days for Xbox. Delisting 1st party franchise games doesn’t help. Buy it while you still can.
The problem with this is it's the shareholders that are pushing all this crap. They simply want more money more growth it will never stop if Xbox was privately owned then the greed wouldn't be so bad.
As a tech guy myself you’re doing yourself a huge disservice by not running Ethernet to your basement and the rest of your house. EVERYTHING just works better not just game streaming. Find you a central location to put your modern, switches, and a patch panel and run drops to your whole home. In your main rooms run at least two cables since you’re already running one anyways even if you don’t plan to use it at the moment. When you get done you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it a long time ago.

I think there is a fairly large group that isn't on Game Pass that would think a cheaper Game Pass with ads is enticing.. but I don't think many current Game Pass subscribers will take it well, so I think it's a hard sell.
The true strategy is to buy the new $60 game pass core 12 month gift cards which give you Xbox live for a year. The unfortunate part is it locks you in for a year but it’s dirt cheap compared to month by month basis. Plus most of the games I would play on game pass I already own anyway or could buy when they go on sale.
A cheaper/free Gamepass tier with ads: sure. Personally, I hate ads. That's why I have RUclips Premium for instance. I don't wanna waste my time on ads. Same goes for my Xbox. A “cheaper” version with ads is disgustingly & awful. Any tier with ads should be completely & utterly free. A free tier with ads is acceptable IMO but putting ads on anything paid for is wrong and will lead to very bad things in the future cause the slope is slippery and corporations only care about profits.
I tried briefly tried out the xbox app on the firestick. I got a fire stick for the purpose of playing my xbox games on it. A lot cheaper than buying a console. I have mixed feelings about it. The one thing I did not like about playing on it is not being able to select the language of the game. I live in Mexico but I prefer to play games in English. I have my fire stick set up for English, which seems to influence some of the games but not all of them. And the setting in the app don't allow for language selection. I tried out Lego Star Wars and it looked fine and played fine. However, it doesn't seem to allow for two player on the same screen. The game appeared to be in English. I then tried an RPG game and although that allowed for the spoken language to be in English, the text was not in English. On my xbox one the game is in English. Go figure. The game also played o.k. with no lag and the graphics looked o.k. The TV I am using is not a 4K tv. I have the fire stick connected to ethernet connection through a TP Link powerline adapter. An alternative to running cables through your house and it works very well. Might want to give those a try if they will wiork with your home's electrical system. They need to be on the same circuit to work.

I just want to say that when Sony did this back in the day with the PS3 what ended up happening was they got rid of PlayStation home and then they started charging a subscription model and ever since Sony has been getting tighter and tighter and they're slowly following in Microsoft's footsteps

Last week, Forza Horizon 4 was still being sold at $60 on the Xbox store. Announcements were already made that the game is being delisted this December, yet it was still $60. Microsoft already killed FM7 the exact same way (delisted it rather than pay to renew licenses to cars and music). When FM7 was delisted, great sales were offered in “apology” and you could get the ultimate edition with all content for $20. Well, the same finally goes for FH4. This week marks the first week of hugely discounted deals for FH4. You can get the base game for a mere $12. I recommend shelling out a few more dollars for the ultimate edition though as it grants all DLC (which will also be delisted) for the full experience. These are dark days for Xbox. Delisting 1st party franchise games doesn’t help. Buy it while you still can.
The problem with this is it's the shareholders that are pushing all this crap. They simply want more money more growth it will never stop if Xbox was privately owned then the greed wouldn't be so bad.

As a tech guy myself you’re doing yourself a huge disservice by not running Ethernet to your basement and the rest of your house. EVERYTHING just works better not just game streaming. Find you a central location to put your modern, switches, and a patch panel and run drops to your whole home. In your main rooms run at least two cables since you’re already running one anyways even if you don’t plan to use it at the moment. When you get done you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it a long time ago.
Am I the only person having issues with Xbox parties recently? Especially when I make a group post, I’ll get switched to gamechat even though it says I’m not, or I’ll be disconnected from the party. It’s been happening to my friends also, but wanted to know if it’s happening to anyone else

I think there is a fairly large group that isn't on Game Pass that would think a cheaper Game Pass with ads is enticing.. but I don't think many current Game Pass subscribers will take it well, so I think it's a hard sell.

The true strategy is to buy the new $60 game pass core 12 month gift cards which give you Xbox live for a year. The unfortunate part is it locks you in for a year but it’s dirt cheap compared to month by month basis. Plus most of the games I would play on game pass I already own anyway or could buy when they go on sale.

A cheaper/free Gamepass tier with ads: sure. Personally, I hate ads. That's why I have RUclips Premium for instance. I don't wanna waste my time on ads. Same goes for my Xbox. I've currently got 2 Series X, 1 Series S and Gamepass Ultimate. So I'd say M$ gets plenty of my money. Haven't I gained the right (/payed everything off) to not see a single ad already?

I didn't watch the whole vid yet but I've always supported Game Pass, just seems like a no-brainer, I had a PS5 for a bit and it's actually crazy how much worse their game subscription is. With Xbox you pay $20 and have a good amount of solid games instantly on your console AND PC.

A “cheaper” version with ads is disgustingly & awful. Any tier with ads should be completely & utterly free. A free tier with ads is acceptable IMO but putting ads on anything paid for is wrong and will lead to very bad things in the future cause the slope is slippery and corporations only care about profits.
I tried briefly tried out the xbox app on the firestick. I got a fire stick for the purpose of playing my xbox games on it. A lot cheaper than buying a console. I have mixed feelings about it. The one thing I did not like about playing on it is not being able to select the language of the game. I live in Mexico but I prefer to play games in English. I have my fire stick set up for English, which seems to influence some of the games but not all of them. And the setting in the app don't allow for language selection. I tried out Lego Star Wars and it looked fine and played fine. However, it doesn't seem to allow for two player on the same screen. The game appeared to be in English. I then tried an RPG game and although that allowed for the spoken language to be in English, the text was not in English. On my xbox one the game is in English. Go figure. The game also played o.k. with no lag and the graphics looked o.k. The TV I am using is not a 4K tv. I have the fire stick connected to ethernet connection through a TP Link powerline adapter. An alternative to running cables through your house and it works very well. Might want to give those a try if they will wiork with your home's electrical system. They need to be on the same circuit to work.
My second comment on this video..sorry ..but why doesn't Xbox just make a dedicated handheld like a steam deck ..and offer HDMI out and Bluetooth controller connectivity so it can be used as a handheld and console .. think if anbernic and steam made an Xbox OS handheld.....

I have gamepass ultimate for my series x and it's only 15€ a month so not to bad for the entire gamepass library imo still awesome
The buying power of the average consumer is decreasing, so like it or not, an ad-supported tier will probably be popular.
Been on Gamepass since day one.... personally I think it's it's awesome. Especially given the fact that a year of GamePass is the equivalent cost of one AAA game. Works for me.

Sounds like bull 💩 to me. Microsoft already have their own ad network with the ability to run ads within all UWP apps. The Xbox is based on UWP. If that guy who posted this crap on X claims microsoft will be trial running this while they develop it, he clearly doesn't have a clue about anything to do with current technology. Microsoft have had the ability to run ads via their own network since Windows 8. How do you think free apps on the Windows store and Xbox store make money? They RUN ADS. Those ads are 100% controlled by Microsoft!

My stance will be ad tier should be free. I am okay with ad tier if gamepass is free. If I pay money, I want no ads.
If i only get to play older games going forward i am all good with that, I'm 40 now, backlog would take up my remaining time until i depart this mortal coil, I'll see if there are ads and that nonsense in hell.
